I have several Coast products already that are excellent, and this one does not disappoint. Actually seems brighter than 400 lumens. The wide angle light cast is surprisingly even and does not concentrate the light in the center as many other do. Even on low setting it provides a very decent amount of light. Not only will this be great for doing work in poorly lit places but it will be very handy in the case of a power outage, but in all honesty my primary use will likely be walking the dog after dark. I like that the main light and the red operate independently, many have you toggle through but this has two on and off switches - one for each. They include 4 clips so it can be mounted on a hard hat if needed. Overall an outstanding headlamp.

The FL65 Dual Color LED Headlamp is made by Coast Products, produces 3 levels of brightness and has a fixed red safety light to preserve night vision. The High level produces 400 Lumens, Medium produces 205 Lumens, and Low produces 55 Lumens. The headlamp is equipped with a wide-angle flood that produces a lot of light on the task at hand. It is powered by 3 – AAA Batteries that are stated to last up to 2 hours 45 minutes when on the high beam, 3 hours 30 minutes on the medium beam, and 19 hours on the low beam. It is equipped with an elastic strap that fits around your head or around your safety hat. Clips are also provided to better secure it to the safety hat. The light adjusts down so that you can direct the light to shine on your work. This light shines much brighter than other headlamps I’ve used and provides adequate light on the work area. Lifetime Warranty from CoastPortland.com.

The Coast wide angle headlamp has three settings for its LED bulb of which all three provide for large floodlight views. The brightest setting is 400 lumens and has a projected run time of nearly three hours on three provided AAA batteries. The light is adjustable and can face forward or with a downward pitch while the straps possess reflective squares. The light also has a red light setting which comes in handy while trying to operate conspicuously. The strap fits my head just fine. I can foresee many times when this light will come in handy from changing a nighttime flat on a vehicle to use while working under a vehicle and/or during power outages.

These types of lights with headbands are a must anytime you need both hands and a light clearly fixed on an object. My observations: • The LED light pattern is clear and bright. The advertised Lumens (for each mode) look accurate to me. I took photos of each light mode and labeled so you can see the difference in brightness/lumens. • I really like the placement of the on/off buttons for the white and red lights. A very simple press and they come on quite easily. It’s also easy to change the light brightness as you move through the modes. The on/off, mode buttons are integrated so well into the light housing some people may need a few seconds the first time just to find the buttons. • The headband is comfortable with or without a hat and it is hardhat compatible. It’s also simple to adjust the band to get the size right for you. • The light housing has a hinge to provide better aiming when needed. • The batteries (included) are easy to get to when it’s time to replace. It’s also clear this has good weatherproofing. Everything seems to be sealed tightly. • The housing is plastic, which is fine. The housing also has a good grip when it’s time to remove it. I like this light. I’ve been a big fan of quality LED lights for a long time. I place this right up there with some of my other ‘go to’ light options. I recommend.

I received my Coast FL65 400 Lumen Dual Color LED Headlamp. It is lightweight and fits good. The switches were kind of hard to figure out, but they work great. It's very bright on high setting & you can also switch it to medium or low, in that order. There is a separate switch for the red led setting which is very handy. It is impact and weather resistant. It uses 3 x AAA batteries which are included. The FL65 Headlamp is backed by Coast's lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. It looks like it will last a long time.

Bright, compact, easy to use and provides 400 lumens, on the supplied AAA batteries. What you get in the kit: 1 - FL65R Red Headlamp With Adjustable Strap. 1 - 3 AAA Gold Top Batteries 4 - Hardhat Clips This headlamp has a fixed wide beam, flood light (bright daylight approx. 5000K) that works wonderful for doing almost any task. From working under the sink or under a car's hood to night time hikes. The headlamp has a single switch with three output settings that is covered with a soft silicone cover. When the headlamps switch is pushed it comes on to the brightest setting, 400, additional pushes on the switch cycles thru 205 lumens on medium and 55 lumens on low. I like that the light comes on to the highest setting first. The light has four tilt settings so it's easy to get the light where you want it. The headband has small white highly reflective diamonds printed on the outside for better visibility. This is an outstanding headlight that provides a very bright wide beam of 400 lumens for two hours 45 minutes, longer run times on medium (over three and a half hours) and low (19 hours). The headlight is light and easy to wear for extended periods of time. The battery compartment is a bit hard to access thru a snap open rear door.

Great solution in certain scenarios. I wish this was around in my early career as a maintenance person. "Back then", when one needed both hands to work in a low /no light environment, the solution was to hold a small flash/pen light in one's mouth! Awkward! This light is very good as it has several nice features such as three "white light" settings and well as a wide light range and red light to "preserve night vision". It also has 4 "tilt positions... It is waterproof and warranted for life. For "the Pro's", it is hardhat compatible with reflective headband. I find the price point at the limit, but considering it is a lifetime warranty, doubling the "actual" base price is how companies"cover warranties"... This being said, it is well made with lots of functionality. An asset in any toolbox

I'm a lighting director/designer of thirty years in the business. I know light. Aside from fancy buttons, worthless functions that overlap, stupid function sequencing, and all the little diagrams on the package about how many miles the beam will go and the rest the hype designed to do nothing more than sell the product in hopes that you'll live with it and not return it, it's all about the light; it's all about the quality of the beam. The reflectors on Coast and Maglites suck. Don't buy either of them. Full flood and spot are acceptable; in between is not. Photograph of Coast light on half spot. Most of the ones I've looked at have a good idea poorly executed. Go figure.

The Coast FL75 Dual Color Focusing LED Headlamp is the best headlamp I've ever used. I've had several in the $15-$30 range and this is way better than any of them. The headlamp features over 400 Lumens brightness, different light settings (Low/Med/High), and then the red night vision setting. It also has a very comfortable strap that is a soft neoprene-like stretchy material that is comfy with or without a hat on. You can adjust the strap to fit any size head, and the two buttons on top are readily accessed with a finger or thumb on top of the light. In addition to the different light settings, you can also adjust the angle of the lamp and move it up and down as needed on a hinge. You can also turn/rotate the lamp lens itself and make the beam focus on an object farther away or then have a wider field as you back it up. Coast rates it at IPX4 for weather conditions and also gives you a lifetime warranty. Uses 3 AAA batteries, but the headlamp came with those already inside so you're ready to go as soon as you take it out of the package.

This is a very nice headlight. It is light weight and very comfortable to wear. It has the ability to do a wide beam and with the twist of the lens you are able to focus on a small area. It is easy to control and turn on and off. The button on the left side lights up two small but bright red lights for special circumstance where you need light but do not want white light. The main head light has 3 levels of intensities. This is the best head light I have owned.

This is exactly the headlamp I have been looking for. It is simple to use, bright, adjustable and has a red light. The light itself is nice and small and it has two buttons. One turns the two small LED red lights on and the other turns on the standard light which has three brightness settings. You can easily adjust the standard light by turning the focus knob. The red light it great for dark situations when you dont want to kill your night vision, like camping. The strap is of good quality and comes with hard hat clips. It takes three AAA batteries (included) so you dont have to get a special battery in the future. Overall, really great durable head lamp for working in tight quarters or when you need both hands. I use it a lot for electrical and plumbing work.

When I tried this headlamp on initially, the first thing that came to mind was how comfortable it was. It almost feels like you're wearing nothing on your head. But this headlamp has so many features. Its has a twist focus, comes with 3 AAA batteries which is awesome because we all dislike when we get something new and then have to go back to the store to grab some batteries because they weren't provided. The actual light has 3 settings; medium, high, and low. There is also two red at the front of the headlamp that is operated by clicking a separate switch. It's extremely bright and hard hat compatible with sturdy plastic hooks. I'm loving this head lamp. Let the work begin.

This is a very good headlamp. It's water-proof, so you can use it outdoors without being concerned about rain, or whatever. It has 3 output settings: high (435 Lumen), medium (255 Lumen), and low (60 Lumen) for the white light, plus a red light setting to preserve night vision. The white beam which is very white, can be adjusted from a wide beam which covers a very wide area to a spot beam for long range light. For my purposes, I’ll probably rarely use the spot setting, but if needed, it shines a long way out. The literature says out to 469 ft., and I believe that’s pretty accurate. The high setting is very bright, and medium is plenty bright for most uses. The low setting is adequate for close up, without much detail. Battery life is fairly typical for lights of this brightness. If you plan to use it on high or medium for very long it would be wise to have extra batteries as it gives about 2 ½ hrs. on high and 3 hrs. on medium. Fortunately, it uses AAA (3), so it’s easy and inexpensive to keep them on hand. The batteries are in the lamp housing rather than a separate compartment on the strap. It fits the head and stays in place well. It’s the only light I’ve found that works even on my boonie hats, due to the lack of separate compartment. The lamp swivels up and down with plenty of arc (appears to be a bit over 45⁰), and stays where you point it. I checked it out in a few spots around the house and yard, and found it to be very good. It lit up the garage sub-panel and everything else I pointed it at. It happened that I had to hang a new ceiling fan and I used this light to help my old eyes see the serial number on the label, and to see the mounting holes in the bottom of the blades. The red light output is not very bright, but doesn’t need to be for its intended purpose. It's really great to free up the hands with this light. I’ve had a few different headlamps over the years and this is the best, by far.

First, I tested the headlamp when replacing the kitchen faucet. It was great not having to get another light pointed in the right direction. However, the main reason I got this was for needlework. It really helps light up projects and save on eye strain. The white light has three brightness levels and by twisting goes from spot to flood light (3-AAA batteries included). The hinged tab adjusts the angle of light which can be white or red individually or together. I would recommend and think I’ll find even more uses.

The Headlamp comes with an adjustable headband and four clips that allow you to attach the headlamp to a hat. The Headlight beam is easily focused from a narrow beam to a wide flood like effect. The headlamp has two switches to turn on the Headlamp from low beam, medium and bright. The bright light will last for approximately 2 1/2 hours according to the manufacturer. The battery is a easily replaceable AA battery The second switch controls two Red LED's on the front of the lamp which can be used at night for a less flooded light. The only issue I have with the Headlamp is that the switches are very hard to click on and off. Perhaps with time the rubber switch will loosen up. The Headlamp is waterproof up to the IPV68 standard. A good buy for the money. spent.

Head lamp is great for using in dark areas to find things it has 3 settings for high, medium and low beam The high beam is bright when I looking for the buttons to turn on it shined right into my eyes and I saw spots for a while.and it also has red lights so if your in your dark and need to keep your night vision for hunting or developing pictures this is the way to go. It comes with clips to attached to a hard hat. I wear it around my neck until I need to use it and the band is very comfortable to wear on your head for long periods it also has a hinge so you can adjust the light down

I really like this headlamp. It comes with 3 AAA batteries already installed and unlike some other headlamps I've used it's simple to change batteriies. It's lightweight and comfortable and has 4 tilt positions. The reflective elastic headband has a wide range of adjustment making it easy to find a setting that's comfortable and still won't slip. There are three light levels. High is 400 lumens, which is pretty bright for a small flashlight. Medium is 205 lumens and low is 55 lumens. . The battery life is 2:45 on high, 3:30 on medium, and a miserly 19 hours on low. I was pleased to find that low was still bright enough for close-up work like under a sink. The light dispersion is very wide - a circle twice as wide as the distance to the target, again great for close-up work. The white light switch is on the top right corner and the red light switch is on the top left corner. It takes a while to get used to finding the switches since their position is only lightly embossed. It comes with 4 hardhat clips. It's IPX4 weatherproof, has a lifetime warranty, and is made in China.

I bought 2 of these, one for my workshop and one for the house. They are absolutely WONDERFUL! They're well made and the only issue I had was finding the darn on/off button at first! The instructions say it's on the front and after searching for it for 10 minutes... it's not on the front where the light is at all! It's actually on the top right (for the white light) see pics below. The button really should be highlighted in black or better yet, a much taller raised area so you can feel it while it's being worn or while wearing gloves. As far as the light itself, it gives off plenty of light while trying to do your projects, and has 3 different light intensities which are changed by repeatadly pushing the power button down . It uses AAA batteries, I use rechargeable batteries and they last at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours on the highest setting. The light has the straight ahead position and can also be tipped forward 3 locking clicks to help aim the light down. If you put it on upside down it will aim the light up depending on the job at hand, like fixing plumbing under a sink. I like that it has click stops so it will be less likely to move on you in the heat of the battle as they say. For aiming to the left or right of you just slip the elastic headband to the right or left. If you're wondering how large the adjustable headband is, I have a pretty large head and it's comfortable for me when fully extended, even after wearing it for over an hour at one task. This Coast LED light is only about 1 3/4" thick so it shouldn't get in the way while working by catching or hitting things. I've had this light for about 9 months now and it's comes in very handy in doing so many jobs in both my workshop & for my wife & I at home. It's really good at finding dropped screws, bolts & parts as the light makes the item "stick out" and reflects the light right back to your eye, so instead of wasting 10 minutes on your hands & knees looking with a traditional flashlight it takes sometimes seconds! Really cool! Usually you have to get the traditional or clamping flashlight just in the right place to do a job, only to realize that your hands block the light once you start working! Not with this light, if you can see it, so can the light! The best thing is always having two hands for doing the work, it's really nice! You're going to love having this light around and it makes a GREAT present too, one of those gifts that keeps on giving & making peoples day! I'm going to buy some more for our cars, garage & RV. Hope this helps!
