Mine has given me over a year of service and has always worked perfectly, even in below freezing temps. I'm guessing the heat coming off my head was enough to keep the batteries warm enough to operate.

I purchased this headlamp because it said lifetime warranty and because it had a rechargeable battery. It is terrible. The battery charge only lasted a few days. The Coast products are very poor quality. I returned this to home depot after a couple of months and they made a note that it was defective. Based on the reviews posted on Coast others have had the same issue going back years. Why hasn't Coast done anything? HD should stop selling their products.

All of my AC technicians use coast lights only. We have been through many other brands and coast currently outperforms all of them.

Being faced with replacing all the electrical switches and outlets in my new-to-me house, and that without electricity while making those changes, I sought a headlamp of some sort. This unit uses a small lithium battery, but if the time required for a phase of the project exceeds the charge of the lithium, then simply drop 3 AAA batteries in place of the lithium, and continue your work. Charging the lithium is via a USB cable, and the lamp glows red while charging but changes to green when the battery is fully charged. Brightness is available at three different levels, selected by pressing the red switch atop the lamp. This switch is the only weak spot on the lamp, and that only in terms of difficulty of finding the 'sweet spot' for actually activating the switch.

Love the rechargeable aspect.

Good light, but wish it had a green light option for hunting. Even the lowest setting was too bright to use early morning hunting.

This is great, adjustable-brightness headlamp. The controls are easy to operate and it works well for tasks in poorly-lit environments.
