The bell stop is a fraction larger in diameter than the existing original vintage bell stop. I put the old bell on the new linkage and everything worked perfect.

The linkage was easy to adjust for length and very easy to install. I replaced the drain lever at the same time which greatly improved the appearance as well.

the bottom plug has a larger diameter/circumference than the original part being replaced. I had to frankenstein the two pieces together...
the difference wasn't much... maybe a millimeter or so... but it was enough that it wouldn't fit in the pipe... so I had to remove the bulb and place the old one on. It was terribly frustrating because I thought that might have been the problem, but it was nearly impossible to eyeball the difference.

The diameter of the one purchased was just barely larger...
The diameter of the one purchased was just barely larger than the one it was supposed to replace and would not fit. We quickly retrieved the one we threw away and used it over again. Someday we will return this one.
