Very impressed with this saw
I was tired of my corded circ saw even though it was a Bosch(really nice saw) and wanted something that would come close to the power of what I already had. I have other Dewalt products and they perform well but this is my first cordless. So far it has exceeded my expectations. It cut all of the wood in the picture on one charge. Small cuts but there are hundreds of them. Solid cutting from the first to the last. While probably not for everyone, I think this is going to be perfect for my needs.

        Great Deal, Great Saw
Note, I'm not a professional so take this review from a consumer perspective. Is it overkill for my uses? Maybe. Do I feel good using it? Oh yeah. The included 9ah Flexvolt battery is great for this and other tools, loads of power and cut time. Saw is very comfortable to hold even with the weight, the bevel is solid, easy to change out the blade, good line of site and blade visibility. I love this thing.

          Headed back to the store
Chunks of solder are rattling around in the motor compartment. Not sure if they broke off the board or if it was just a sloppy job assembling the unit. I'm not going to open it up to to find out.

              Worked great until it didnt.
This 60v circular saw boasts tons of power and able to make clean precise cuts until it cannot make precise cuts any longer. I am a hobbyist woodworker and have owned this saw for a few years and typically am a "buy once, cry once" tool purchaser to make sure I buy the right tool. After moderate use on weekends the base plate of the saw does not align with the blade, therefore making the saw useless. I typically use a straight edge and clamps to make long straight cuts on sheets and now am unable to do so. In the images you can see the edge of square is and is not in contact with the front and back of the blade respectively. This is a brand new blade and now the saw is only good for rough cuts and demo. I would avoid this product if you care to own your tools for several years.

This cordless could almost be a replacement for your corded circular saw. First thing, I am a very capable DIYer, not a builder and tested this saw on pressure treated lumber which we know is the bane of circular saws abilities . this saw with battery is heavy, it weighs in at 11 pounds , that is 2 pounds more than a similar competitors model using the same 9 amp battery. so carrying this up and down a ladder may be a consideration. The included rafter hook was far more convenient than I first thought. I was able to hang the saw on lumber while I measured, etc, which eliminates the up and down or tripping on the saw accidentally. The battery charged quickly, it arrived with 1 bar of charge and was fully charged in under 30 minutes. The included blade was ok for rough work, it is a bit of a thin kerf blade which i found hard to keep straight on wet lumber, but tracked fine on dried 2x6's . I tried this out on pressure treated 2x6s and it went through them almost as well as my corded saw. I did need to go a little slower but not baby the cuts. I was able to make 41 cuts on a charge, which was not bad at all. having only one battery slows you down, but I was able to use a 20 volt battery from another tool to keep going while the battery charged, but I did notice a difference when cutting the wet lumber with the standard battery. This is a really nice saw and comes with a good quality storage bag, I personally like that this saw takes standard 7 1/4 inch blades, You can purchase a similar kit with 2 batteries which you may want to consider, but if you are not cutting lumber lal day, one battery will do the trick

The Dewalt flexvolt 60 volt Brushless circular saw is awesome. The 7 1/4 circular saw is light weight even with the battery installed. The saw is very powerful for a battery operated saw. The light on the saw shows exactly where you are cutting and you can use multi volt batteries. An easy saw to operate and has a good balance to it. The saw is very durable and would last a long time. I would recommend this saw to all my family and friends. A very well made saw.

This is a great portable circular saw by Dewalt. It is a type of saw that my husband and I consider essential for our projects. It's easy to hold with two hands and I really like that it is battery operated. Our previous circular saw, that we bought years ago had to be plugged in, did not have the safety features or the adjustments that this saw provides. It is well balanced in the hand and easy to manage, though you do have to use both hands to push a button in order to pull the trigger to start it. This is a great safety feature as you will not accidentally turn the saw on. It has an LED light so you can see where you're cutting. It also has blade and angle adjustments. This saw can be used to cut wood for almost any purpose. That it is portable makes it even more versatile.

This Dewalt 60V Max Brushless 7-1/4 Cordless Circular Saw with accessories is a great package deal. The kit includes a Flexvolt Battery and charger with 2,465 unit watts out. The saw has a 57 degree bevel, 2-9/16th in depth cut capacity, and an electric break that stops after the trigger is released. It puts out 47% more power than the DCS575 60 Volt Max. With the no-load speed of 5800 RPM it delivers the power of a corded circular saw. It's portable and has the convenience of cordless through Dewalts Flexvolt technology. In addition to all the saws great features it also has an integrated LED for increased visibility and cut accuracy, and a rafter hook for easy storage. I'm so glad to be rid of using so many old corded tools. This is a must have saw for the DIY and advanced professional, it's a real work horse that just won't quit.

I recently ordered and received the DeWalt flexvolt 60-volt max, brushless 7-1/4-inch circular saw. This is truly a heavy-duty piece of cordless equipment. When I first took it out of the box, I thought to myself, this looks odd. After a few moments of examination, it dawned on me that the cutting blade is on the right-hand side of the saw. I have several corded and non-corded circular saws and all of them have the saw blade on the left side. When I first handled it, I thought to myself, this is not going to work for me, but after actually trying the saw out, it actually made very little difference. In fact, it was just as easy to use as any of my other saws. I got less sawdust thrown at me and I was very quickly able to get used to looking over my right hand to view my cut line. I like this saw very much and it is a real work horse. It cut 2-inch stock like butter. I cannot actually attest to how long the saw will hold a charge, but I made about 10-12 cuts on a 2x4 and I could not detect any noticeable power loss. The saw also has quick release adjustments for blade depth of cut and blade angle. The only thing that may be a drawback to some is the saws weight. It is actually heavier than my corded Makita saw. In summary, this is a very nice cordless saw and is definitely up to par with what one expects from a DeWalt product. The only very small knocks I have are its weight and the blade on the right-hand side of the saw (which I got used to very quickly). In regard to the weight of the saw, this probably cannot be avoided due to the battery. I’ve included a few pictures below to give an idea of the saws appearance and size.

The circular saw works great. I was able to zip through multiple sheets of 3/4 in plywood and 2x12 treated lumber with no issue. Having a 2nd battery is a must. You can tell once the battery gets low. I used the saw to build a tool/charging station. I have not had the opportunity to use the impact wrench yet.

                    This saw is a beast
I had previously been using the Gen 1 Flexvolt Sidewinder saw and then seen this new Gen 2 version was going to release soon and felt I needed to pick one up. Cosmetically the Gen 1 and this version look essentially the same. Spec wise they are also very similar. This one boasts a more powerful motor that matches the specs of Dewalt's FV Wormdrive style saw though. This newer version also comes with a 9.0 FV battery as opposed to the 6.0 FV battery that the older version comes with. Charger wise I know this is Dewalt's new two stage charger but the included charger is a 6amp charger where the previous version is a 8amp charger with fan. With that said while the included charger between the two seems like a slight downgrade I can say so far the new two stage charger seems to do just fine and charges the 9.0 battery quickly. I gave this a 4 star rating because I have not had long term use with the tool but so far I am very pleased. It is a beast of a saw that does not bog down with use when I paired it with a 40 tooth Diablo (fighting chicken) blade lol. The included 24T blade is ok but I just prefer the Diablo blades and prefer a finer tooth for my applications. Overall I feel this saw is a nice upgrade to the Gen 1 and even if the only improvement was the battery upgrade it would be worth it but the saw itself seems to be quite the workhorse and has a nice light and rafter hook. If in the market for a new sidewinder or you are already on the Dewalt battery platform and looking to upgrade your saw this one is one to consider imo.

Well designed and solid tool, feature set and quality is great for professional use. I found the updated iteration with the rafter hook which I really like having to hang the tool near my workbench and not have to set it on the floor. Out of the box the base plate was calibrated well with the blade for parallel and for 90 deg. I like all of the features and the dark anodized aluminum looks killer. I found a dust port designed for the corded version and it fits perfectly although the design only works with a powerful dust collection system unless you tape over the open port. The saw is a little heavy to handle but not more than corded saws of similar design and still manageable for one handed use. The well designed balance and handle ergonomics make it easy to handle in use and are part of what makes this tool shine, in my opinion. It does have sort of a top handle design and I prefer more of a rear handle or steeper handle angle for sidewinders. It can feel like I’m pushing a top-handle jig saw, especially when I’m cutting at shallow depth. The base plate has a somewhat coarse machine or grind going the direction of the cut and creates quite a bit of friction until broken in. Maybe it’s just the anodizing. I sped up my break in period with sand paper up to 600 grit and the base is very low friction now and the dark finish is still solid on the bottom. The stock FlexVolt blade seems to be as good or better than my normal diablo blades, I wish they were easy to find at hardware stores. Irwin’s blades made in their facility in Italy are extremely good and have performed as well as the stock flexvolt blade in this saw. I really like some of the features such as the blade brake, aluminum base plate with good edges for use with guides, work light, positive bevel stops, rafter hook, long lever for the blade guard, large lobe on guard that works well for any cutting scenario whether shave cutting or bevel cuts, and the dust port adapter I added that goes with the corded 575 and fits this FV perfectly. My cordless 20v DeWalt vac works ok for dust collection with this tool and the port adapter but I have to tape over the side hole in the adapter and then I don’t spray dust everywhere. It collects probably 80-85% this way and is useful indoors. The levers for setting depth and bevel look like simple stamped steel parts but they are hardened and super tough. The strap for depth setting is really thick and provides good support to reduce base plate torsion during use. All in all a great tool for professional use.

As promised, it has the power of corded. I'm a CPA, not a professional builder but I do build on the weekends. Blade change is easy and has enough power to get through 6x6s, 4x4s, 2x4s easily and accurately. The 60 volt has lasted long enough for my weekend projects where I haven't had to change out though it wouldn't be a big deal as I always have a few charged ready to go. Having one less cord occupying an outlet is a blessing I didn't really know I wanted until I had it. Upgrading all of my tools now to cordless.

I've had other cordless circular saws as I've worked my entire life in the construction trades. They were toys in comparison. The power, battery life and strength were beyond expectations. While demolishing/cleaning up a burned out pole barn I actually put a metal grinder blade on it and it cut thru everything put before it. Steel, aluminum, copper, you name it, it cut it. It is now one of my main tools.

So I am a Business Owner of a Construction/Remodeling Company. I will Start by saying this. In America, you get what you pay for! which is why I purchase DeWalt Tools. This 60volt Brushless Flex Volt has more Power and Run Time is at least 5x compared to the 6 1/4 in 20v DeWalt Circular saw. Which I am now giving to my Dad since I no longer have any use for. I cut a 2 1/2 thick piece of Granite Counter Top I made 4 different cuts look at the battery which had charged only for 20 min after purchase, and still had 2 bars left. for those who don't know.(that's good) remember, you get what you pay for. so to all the unfortunate RYOBI OWNERS.I SAY THIS
