Now this is a fantastic tool. It doesn’t seem to matter what size cable I am running but the staples always seem to have just the right amount of pressure holding the product.

Great stapler makes work easier and that’s the point right.

First of all the battery life is incredible. I didn't know how the 2 amp hour battery would compare with my bigger 20v Dewalt batteries, all my Dewalt batteries last forever and this one isn't an exception. I have put a whole box of staples through it over two days, a garage rough in and a smaller residential rough in. The battery is still showing 3/3 bars, I am now not even going to bother bringing my spare battery and charger. One tip to help you use less staples, and this also makes the staple hold tighter. When you pull the trigger to staple your wire push into it a little. When you do it on engineered joists push a little harder with your off hand on the back. Its funny to see people claiming to be electricians not figure this out when I figured it out halfway through my first staple box. In the first half of my stapling I stapled excessively because I hadn't figured out I could adjust retention by how hard I pushed. What did I staple though? Data runs - 3 cat5s and a coax on each one x5 A ton of home runs in 12/2, it handled doubling, and even trippling up of the wire like it was nothing. A 10/3 for a dryer which again went beautifully. Another really awesome way you can use this stapler is to put the bottom at the last staple and hit it again. I could do most of my stapling today one handed because the head of the stapler held the wire up. The prongs that go around the wire also allowed me to straighten the wire and hold, and staple it all with one hand. This one handed operation is a godsend up on a ladder, you can do more with less ladder moves. Whoever came up with the "2x faster than manual hammering" in the Dewalt marketing office was generously understating how much time this thing saves. One more time for the little girl that returned his stapler because it "didn't staple hard enough to hold the wire straight", push into it and work a little, Newtons laws apply. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This stapler hits them powerfully meaning if you aren't pushing it will bounce back slightly and lead to less penetration. In other words don't be dissuaded from buying this because of people who don't understand physics or nay sayers saying they are having a hard time with staple availability. The staples will come and are already very available.

Dewalt Cable stapler is one of the best for Romax cables and it is quality built feels sturdy and does the job in a variety of wood types today i took out old rusty stables and used the DeWALT stapler to re secure the wires and not only but for the past 2 months this dewalt Romax stapler is one good tool to have for securing Romax wire to wood. the kit comes as a Ready to use kit stapler, staples ,battery and charger and clear instructions and soft case

The Dewalt DCN701 Cordless Cable Stapler is built for residential wiring applications. It is used of fastening Romex brand wires and cables. The cable stapler is twice as fast as manual hammer stapling. It has a proprietary cable guide for aligning the staple over cable meaning that it help preventing putting a staple into the cable or Romex wires. It works great and is built well. I just didn't give it 5 stars as it has to be placed just right to fire a staple and sometimes you can not get that perfect angle.

No motor or sound, just blinks. Not jammed, full battery, and full staples. Just quit working! I am so done with dewalt and the poor workmanship lately. Going with milwaukee.

Have been wanting to purchase this tool, and finally got the opportunity. Have quickly put it to work and it is great, so far have not had a miss fire. It is compact enough that it fits with stud bays and in between joists. I have used it with single cable romex and doubled up 12/2 romex and have not issues with providing a secure staple.

I'm a DeWalt power tool affectionado. This is my tenth DeWalt battery-powered tool. Made wiring installation a breeze. Fired the staples cleaning and consistently.

It only work sometimes after using for a little while

Saves so much time compared to hand nailing all the staples. Drives them to the perfect depth, not too tight. It would be nice if the depth was adjustable, but it does not pinch the wires at all. Wish i would have bought one long ago.

The only cordless tools i buy are dewalt. Never had an issue with any tool besides this one! Im on my 3rd gun! Each one lasts less than 1 year before it starts mis-firing & shooting into the cable! Works great when it works, doesn’t last!! Can’t believe i am about to go buy the Milwaukee version

Bought this cause i thought it would help speed up running romex and not slam my fingers all the time hammering staples. I should have read the reviews because it doesnt have enough power to drive the staples all the way in to snug up the wire. You still need to hammer almost every single staple after using this stapler. Waste of my money i guess. First dewalt product i have purchased that was a complete flop

I use the staple for CAtT 6 and coaxial cable works exactly the way I needed to and also works great for its intended use for Romax

I read all the reviews before purchasing this tool. Needless to say, I was a little concerned. But, I decided to roll the dice. I tried the stapler out as soon as it arrived. I found it to be of good quality, a little on the heavy side, a little large for tight places, but it's not a hand stapler either. I found that the staples do not penetrate on a single wire deep enough to make solid contact with the wood most of the time. It did well on double wires. Some reviews stated that the tool failed to operate out of the box, I didn't have that problem. I won't know about a month, or year from now, because I just received it. It is quicker than a hand stapler, but you may have to tap them with a hammer to make solid contact. But, I would say that more than one tap. Larger wires shouldn't be a problem. Hardness of the wood could place a factor in the penetration. The tool is a little expensive, and staples or also expensive, so you'll have to decide if it's worth it. I wouldn't rely on the one-star reviews to make a choice though, tools now days get little or no quality control, so you can get a bad tool. Just send it back, or file a warranty. Dewalt is owned by Black and Decker, and I have found them to be reasonable.

Service was great and easy to pick up and the product worked wonderfully.

It's a very convenient tool, and doesn't jam like the other Dewalt cordless guns, however you have to tap the staple with a hammer to snug it up on single romex. I'm on the fence on returning it. If Milwaukee had an 18 volt version instead of m12 I would've bought that over the Dewalt and used a battery adapter.

I operate a Custom AV Integration company, and cabling both low-voltage and Romex is my life. I decided to purchase a cordless cable stapler! And since my power tools are DeWalt, it’s a no brainer to trust them again. I tried it out on Burial CAT6e Cable with a diameter of a #2 pencil. Out of 250 staple ONLY two didn’t need assistance with a hammer! OMG! Surfaces were CCA pine, cedar and untreated pine! No matter how much force! I already ordered a Milwalkee and this DeWalt is headed back to HD!

Handy tool, nice lighting to see where staple is going, helpful for one hand operation, wish it was a little lighter, no depth adjustment so needed to hammer some staples in deeper on single romex.

Good DeWALT product as are they all.
