Very good Dishwasher for our RV
This is the second Danby Portable Dishwasher we have purchased for our RV. The first one lasted 4 years and developed a leaking pump. For the low cost it was cheap enough to replace it. Much better than having to wash dishes by hand. Has a salt reservoir that softens the water for washing dishes. That is an excellent feature.

Leaked immediately
There are no unpacking or installation instructions whatsoever. You are at the mercy of the marginally helpful Youtube videos. Tons of wet tiny yellowish brown beads (silica gel, maybe) fell out of the bottom of this dishwasher upon unpacking. Mess everywhere. Water connections are very short, and it is impossible to extend them with the standard 3/8" or 1/2" pipes without some major surgery. I suspect that Danby made it incompatible with anything else on purpose. When first turned on, the unit started leaking water on the floor immediately. Had to turn it off and will try to return the unit back to Home Depot as defective. Stay away!

    Failed just after warranty.
It started acting badly in the 13th month of the 12 month warranty. Now it will not pump out water at all, the pump doesn't even try to start, just sits there with lots of water in the bottom. If I manually remove all the water it will start another cycle but that's useless since it can't pump any dirty water out. Personally I feel that paying $460 for a machine like this is a huge waste of money for one year of service, I won't be fooled again.

    excellent product.
product performance is great, easy to use when you can figure out what buttons and lights mean before using.the instruction booklet left you wondering what does each light and button do.we had to search on line for more instructions.also found others had the same issue.

    Just what I wanted
I love everything about this washer. We had a problem pulling the hoses out to connect to the faucet. Discovered that they were twisted up.. Took it apart and unwound them and now everything works great.. Rolls around with ease..

    Not impressed so far
18 inch portable dish washer. The instructions only tell you how to load the drawers, which is nice, but it doesn't tell you how to attach it to the sink. Had to go into Home Depot and they didn't know either. They had to YouTube it. I ran it the first time and was impressed, but the second time I ran it there was standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher and there wasn't any food on the dishes.. Now I have to figure out how to get the thing drained and see if there is anything that could be causing it to not drain, though not sure what it could be. Nice in theory but not impressed so far.

    Unsatisfied customer
This dishwasher runs for over 2 hours regardless of the control setting. It also goes through the drying cycle with about a gallon of water still in the bottom of the washer. Also, if you stop the washer during the drying cycle trying to save energy all that water is still in the machine not pumped out.

Been unable to use it properly yet.
The machine arrived with a broken caster, possibly due to poor transit handling. It's been rather difficult to find a replacement caster, and Home Depot has been less than helpful there. The broken caster makes the dishwasher nearly impossible to use as it not only defeats the mobility of the machine but also causes it to list in ways that are unhelpful for washing dishes without breaking them.

    I LOVE this dishwasher
I had the dishwasher installed "permanently" by my plumber. I know you're not supposed to be able to do that, but he switched out the hoses and everything, and its great! so I can't review the sink attachment, since that's gone. I have put crusty, dried cheese dishes in the Danby, and they have come out spotless! Its perfect for one person, and probably great even for 2 people. (I run it every other day). If you have hard water, be sure to add the "dishwasher salt" and use a rinse aid (there are compartments for both) and your glasses will really sparkle. The other thing I love? The drying function does not use an "electric" dryer, it's a condensation dryer, so you're not wasting energy. Sure, there may be a few drops of water on the plastic containers, but in general, it's pretty dry. The only caveat is, it takes a long! time. Of course, you can stop it before it's done drying, it's just water, but I turn it on before bed, and in the morning, VOILA! So, why only 4 stars? As many other people have noticed, the instruction manual is the WORST MANUAL I HAVE EVER SEEN! It has no information on "what's in the box", so I didn't know if I was missing any pieces (I don't think there ARE any pieces, mine came already assembled and ready to go, but it would be nice to know that). If I DID use the sink attachment, there was no description of it, or how to use it. It has quite a few settings and there is a description in the manual about what each setting does... BUT, there are no photos, so how am I supposed to know that those squiggly white lines mean "drying" or that the OTHER squiggly lines mean... um, I'm still not sure... I'm assuming it means "we don't know either, that's why we didn't put pictures in the manual"....

      happier
dishwasher is quiet - the real noise comes from the water going into the sink. I really enjoy this dishwasher it is small but fits great in my small kitchen. The light stays on for salt - that is my next step to find online and order. watching You Tube videos helps to correctly fit the hose connector to the faucet. So simple but it is not explained in the manual.

So far, so good. . .
Have only put it through 4 washes but so far but I'm very happy. It arrived on time and in perfect condition. (Other website reviews from other sites that sell this same model had people complaining that it arrives with broken wheels and/or dents, but mine was pristine.) Although I wish it had a little bit more room for tall pitchers, it does fit my Corelle dishes and many of the kitchen gadget accessories (like the reusable filters for the coffee and tea makers) just fine. Dishes come out as good as any dishwasher I've seen, and even the plastic drinking glasses are as clear and as shiny as the day I bought them, and that's on a regular wash. I would imagine, then, that the pots-and-pans cycle would work as advertised. My only issue is that I'm getting some leaking from the faucet where I attached the screw on quick connect adapter, and am not sure what else I can do to remedy that. And I do wish that both the hoses and electrical cord were a bit longer. But that's nit picking, really. If you're tired of doing dishes by hand, don't hesitate to get one of these.

      Works like a charm
This dishwasher is great for my small townhouse. Even though it is smaller than a standard dishwasher, it holds plenty of dishes. Easy to hookup and use.

It does what it is supposed to do
I wanted an 18inch portable dishwasher, because I haven't the room in my apartment for a full-size dishwasher. I would have preferred a Bosch 18inch Classixx, however it simply is not available, so I went with this Danby dishwasher. I feel this Danby dishwasher is rather pricy for what it is, however it does what it is supposed to do. I very much like the Rapid Wash setting as it is quite fast, and the Rapid Wash setting does an excellent job at cleaning the dishes, regardless of how heavily soiled the dishes are.

        Great little dishwasher
I recently purchased the Danby 18" portable dishwasher and have been very happy with it. My dishes always come out spotless. The only downsides to this product are the length of the wash cycles (the "economy" cycle still takes just over 2 hours while the "regular" cycle takes over 3 hours) and the positively useless instruction manual. Thankfully, other Danby dishwasher owners have posted incredibly helpful tutorials on YouTube. I couldn't have figured out how to hook the dishwasher up to my kitchen sink faucet properly without the YouTube videos. The dishwasher itself is pretty large so if you have a smaller kitchen, make sure you measure everything properly. Overall, this was a good purchase. For an 18" dishwasher, this model holds a lot of dishes. I only have to run it every three days to keep up with my boyfriend and I's dirty dishes. If you're like me and loathe washing dishes by hand, I highly recommend this dishwasher!

This dishwasher gets the job done.
I like my new dishwasher and it cleans the dishes well. The complaints I have are: 1.) it is hard to determine what cycle you are setting the dishwasher at 2.) If you don't use a separate drying agent like jet dry, the dishwasher never shuts off. (Even though the drying agent is included in the dishwasher tablet) and 3.) The dishwasher is considerably smaller than I expected.

It seems to work well and is very quiet
The dishwasher is what I expected after reading other reviews. it does a good job and is quiet. Downfalls are it leaves a film on the silver ware at times and the controls are hard to understand. It has pictures on the dial and my wife and I can not decipher them. They do not explain in the operators manual what the settings are. We are very happy with the dishwasher though. It is well worth the money.

So Quiet and easy to install.
Purchased this online at the store. Staff helped me from the beginning to the end of my purchase. Everything I needed was in the box, no need to spend more money on plumbing materials.

Very happy with it so far...
Haven't had it long almost 3 weeks. When I got it home was worried since the top wasn't assembled properly. Luckily just had to take the screws out, re align it and put screws back in. Works great! Cycles are all very long 2-3 hours except the Rapid wash but doesn't run dry cycle on that setting. Is strange it runs half the dry cycle with rinse water in it, then drains and dries more and drains again. I thought it was broke at first. Seemed odd but that's how it does it. No timer display so no idea how much time is left. The manual is a joke. But with some internet research I found everything I wanted to know. Moves around and hooks up easily. Fits in my very small kitchen. Overall I am so glad I bought this, I hope it continues to be a good product.

Seems to be very efficient for it's size. Extremely quiet and all results, after completing a load, are good. Would recommend this item to anyone that has a limited space. Wheels extremely easy.

Good buy. Wish I'd bought this sooner
I had this washer for less than a month now but so far I think it's great. I feel like it holds a lot of dishes but you just have to maneuver them properly so everything will fit. my dishes do come out clean but of course I rinse everything out because I don't want to clean the food trap. I'm really impressed on how sparkling and clean my glasses come out. Assembly isn't difficult and it's not loud but it does take 2 hrs for a normal load which doesn't bother me. It saves me time and I can never go without one again. Also it gives me extra counter space which is much needed.

        Good little dishwasher!
It's a great little dishwasher for 2 people! It cleans everything really thoroughly even stuck on dishes. It is perfect for our situation (couple in an apartment). It's counter height, so it adds valuable counter space in our small kitchen. It is also really easy to use and hook up! Highly recommended!

The Best for a Small Place
The Danby portable dishwasher is undoubtedly the best thing since sliced bread. It is easy to roll out of a closet to the kitchen, load it up, hook it up and the dishes are done immaculately. We live in a mobile home and this item was exactly what we needed.

          look for another brand
bought it ... worked for the warranty and hoses started coming unattached and the soap dish doesn't open all the way so the 2 hour wash cycle is pointless unless you just want your dishes rinses with watch and with no soap ... GET ANOTHER BRAND!
