What a nice finish on this grab bar. The material is strong and very sturdy. When mounted on a wall into the studs or concrete it can hold alot and should not fail you when you need something to hang on to. The installation screws are long and of excellent quality and are concealed with a cover. Really nice looking. Eighteen inches long and of a good size to fit your hand. Recommended.

Make no mistake, the Delta series of ADA compliant grab/towel bars are not your usual run of the mill product. This Delta Contemporary 18 in. x 1-1/4 in. Concealed Screw ADA-Compliant Decorative Grab Bar in Matte Black is built tough! This one will go into our shower, but I can see them being useful for much more than just bathrooms. They call it a decorative grab bar, but with a 500 pound capacity, it is far more than just decoration! Thanks Delta, and Home Depot!

A beautiful grab bar. I needed this more by my kitchen sink, but it would be nice anywhere you put it. Very strong, I would not be afraid to swing from it. As a assist bar in the bathroom you could not do better. The installation was very simple, good clear instructions, comes with all the hardware, even a hollow wall support to help on sheet rock with no stud. I am very pleased with this Bar.

KenCT, Thank you for raking the time to leave us your thoughts on the Contemporary 12 in. x 1-1/4 in. Concealed Screw ADA-Compliant Decorative Grab Bar in Chrome. I am sorry that the width was a little confusing. The 12 inches advertised is the size of the bar itself. You are correct that the total length is longer. If you look at the Product Overview Section under Info & Guides, you will see a specification sheet that shows the different measurements. I apologize for the confusion. We appreciate your feedback.
