Thus axe/hatchet was a great buy! From the leather bound handle, which gave me a great grip, to the extremely sharp and solid blade, that tire through my tree stumps, I couldn’t have been more pleased than if I’d chosen a more expensive one. The sheath protects the blade and looks nice and secure.

This hatchet is amazing. The size is deceiving with how well it splits wood. Super impressed. Also the workmanship is incredible. Weird to say that a hatchet is aesthetically pleasing...but this one sure is. Talk about fine form and function!

After viewing the manufacturers' process from beginning to end on one of the TV "how's it is made" shows. I just had to have one of the finest hatchets available. These hatchets are the best, good edge holds edge almost forever and stays sharp.

This is it!!! This little hatchet can be found in any garage, tool box, camping gear, survival kit in the world. This axe has not been changed since I was a kid. I am 59 years old. I bought my son his years ago and my daughter hers last week. Both hunt, fish and camp. The leather bound handle just fits right in your hand. Not very large in diameter but comfortable and yet strong. Estwing is made in the USA!!! Estwing has not changed the design of their leather bound handle because if it ain't broke don't fix it and the best part is your not going to break this ever. Buy it, use the crap out of it and let the grandkids inherit it.

An excellent tool for camping

This is an excellent tool, It has both form and function nailed. The design is flawless, good balance and the leather handle feels great in my hand, and best of all it’s sharp as can be! Time to retire my old Boy Scout hatchet and step up to this beauty.

The best throwing axe I’ve found no loose heads on the handle. Works well on a fixed target. Haven’t tried it on a moving or flying target yet.
