solid build but poor floater design
This pump seems to get a lot more expensive than before (low 400 now).
Pro: heavy duty; quiet; minimum configuration. Just glue a 2 inch pipe to a threaded connector and then screw it in.
The separate floater cutoff wire is useful in case float got stuck.
Con: Floater can only be attached to one side of the pump.
The existing pipe location can force the floater to be a bad position that can get stuck.
Shortening the floater cable to 3 inch and lowering it may be needed.

Solid and Reliable
Our sump pump went out, but we noticed that we were getting a lot of soot in the barrel, so we bought this instead to use as our sump pump? I figured it would work well since it grinds things up! So far it has worked like a champ on expelling the water and soot, plus it's industrial strength. Every other week I pour a little vinegar down into the barrel and it cleans the unit. It was worth the money!

Purchased less than 6 months ago and quit
With it having a 3-year warranty I would hope that it lasted longer than what it did (died during the fourth month of use). And then I tried to call on a Sunday for support and get it replaced but they're only open Monday through Friday. What good does it do when they have them in stock at home Depot but you can't get a replacement on the weekend when it fails?

Didn't last long
We installed this 9 months ago. It started out fine but gradually ran slower and slower, taking longer to pump. Today it finally died completely by tripping the circuit breaker. After the nasty job of removal, we found nothing was blocking the impeller, the motor just buzzes and doesn't turn.

Pump has only been installed for six days ....
Pump has only been installed for six days . Everything is working great. Installation went well.My son -in -law performed the installation and all went well.My instore techinician did a super job. I will go back to Home Depot to work with personnel of his caliber.

Right now the change over to the Everbilt was a good experience.
