This Everbilt spring hinge set is a great way to take an ordinary fence gate and make it self shutting, while sprucing up its look. As I have a pool, I need to be sure that the gate to the front shuts and locks automatically and this does it. My old gate spring finally gave up the ghost and this was the perfect answer (I needed to re-do the gate anyway). These hinges are stylish and sturdy, both factors I was looking for, and Everbilt products have always performed extremely well for me. Installation is easy, and tension adjustment is a snap. I did find myself having to readjust the tension the first few days; I suppose this was due to them being new. They work extremely well, even on the relatively heavy side gate I have. Note that it does not come with a latch, but since I was doing a swap it was not a problem. Good product.

These are great looking and will add a nice decorative touch to a gate, door or cabinet. I plan on using them on a small gate that separates our yard from the rest of our property to help prevent the dogs from getting out. The fact that these are spring tension is a great feature and will help insure the gate stays closed. They are heavyweight and sturdy with a black finish and will add nice decorative detail compared to an ordinary gate hinge.

This set of Everbilt decorative hinges with adjustable spring tension is ideal for a gate. Ten black 1-1/2 inch hex-head lag bolts are included. The hinges have square holes which fit some carriage bolts in the event that the project installation called for a different type of bolt. This is a great set of hinges for the price since the hinges are spring-loaded which is more costly than simple swivel hinges. The package includes a steel rod for adjusting the stops on the hinges. The pins for the spring hinges are quite small so it is important when opening the package that these essential items are not misplaced. The steel hinge is wrapped around and overlaps a portion of the spring which increases the strength which is rated 60 pounds per hinge.

These spring-loaded, adjustable tension hinges are very attractive (see 1st photo) and we thought of many ways to use them as decoration besides being designed as hinges. Our white/white kitchen was in need of some contrasting style and perspective, so we added them to our pantry doors (see 2nd photo). We then found a more traditional and very decorative use on our patio screen door (see 3rd photo). In addition, what really looked great was their application to a naturally finished storage bench with hinged top (see 4th photo). The black of the hardware applied over the clear varnish finish is very pleasing.

This 8 in. spring tee hinge is a very attractive design and comes with an adjustable pin for spring tension. This will ensure the gate closes on it's own (to keep your pets in and yard secure.) It is heavy duty and comes with the lag bolts. Easy to install. I bought the 8in hinges as I have a heavy, oversized wooden gate and these worked perfectly.

Easy install. Spring surprisingly effective. Didn't require extra spring I purchased. Good price.

Soft metal. They bend very easily

They work fine as a simple gate hinge, but the spring mechanism didn’t work, and it can only swing one way. So you can not use them in a double gate situation., I ended up installing old fashion extension springs.

Hinge is loose. No washers at ends where hinge swivels.

They are 2 weeks old and forming rust already , not very good quality

Very decorative design but the plate looks pretty thin. I only used 2 out of three screws and it seems to hold up pretty well. My gate is only 3’ x 4’ though

The spring load is trash but they do hold a gate food but there is jo spring and the pins like to fly out

Very difficult to put the pin in to engage the spring. It did not stay put, so we ended up cutting off part of the tension bar and using that instead.

I used a set of these spring hinges and first, the manufacturer shorted me two screws. I tried to set the tension on the springs. I followed the instructions and the adjusting parts just turned and would unwind, even when the pegs were inserted.

These were an exact fit for the 30 year old hinges on my front gate. The old ones had word and the gate was askew so installing these brought everything back into alignment. Quality is great and the addition of the closing springs to the hinges is a plus.
