My review of this refrigerator starts and ends with the horrible high pitched whining than it produces for hours at a time. Right now I'm sitting at the other end of the house, about 3 rooms away and I can still hear it. We bought the extended warranty and had them come out and look at it. They said that it was NORMAL. How can you sell a $1400 fridge that sounds this bad? We called the Home Depot that we bought the Fridge from, store #0159 on Ponce De Leon Ave in Atlanta, and they were totally uninterested in helping us. The appliance manager there said that we had buyers remorse. Well, of course we do! Its a noisy piece of junk! My Five dollar - 20 year old cheap fridge in the basement is quieter than this. So a big thanks to store 0159 for the no-service and also Frigidaire for selling us this noisy pile of Junk. My advice - do NOT buy this Fridge! My recommendation - We had a Jenn-Air before this and you could barely hear it, even when standing right next to it. It was a bit more expensive, but in this case you get what you pay for. We could talk about the rest of the features but honestly, this is the only thing thats relevant right now. I would love to include a sound file of this thing but apparently I'm not allowed to link to outside websites.

Happy with the looks and functionality. Happy with all aspect of the fridge except for the dreaded compressor noise. The high pitch pulsating noise that I have seen many reviews complain about. I was hoping we would get lucky. We were not. I will not say that it is a loud noise, it is not. However, once you hear it and your brain locks onto it, it is quite obnoxious. My wife found that unbearable and was on me to take it back to home depot. But we tried another fridge and it was even worse.. not high pitch but way louder than this one over-all. We just seem to be in a terrible era of refrigerators. I can only hope things are better next time we need to buy one. So, as of now we are deciding to keep this one on the condition that I had to alter it to make it more quiet. Now standard disclaimers apply here, doing what I did messes with the airflow and therefore probably voids your warranty and could shorten components life etc etc. Now on with the fun stuff. Firstly, innocently enough, we put firm foam underneath the fridge and sound reducing foam behind it. This does a good job reducing the noise coming from the back and maybe helps a little with sound that might carry from underneath. However for the compressor noise, there is a major problem. There is a direct line of sight and sound straight out the front of the fridge underneath through the vents. So what I did is wedge another piece of that firm foam between the compressor and the evaporation tray. This greatly muffles the sound and I think we will roll with it like this. I didn't block off the compressor / rear compartment completely however to allow air to still come forward like it is supposed to in order to evaporate the condensation tray. Version 2.0, if dear wife still says its too obnoxious will be to block off the compressor area completely (more or less), and then come up with my own fan rigging to evaporate the water tray in the front area. Fun times, can't wait.

Simply beautiful

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. PIERCING FLUCTUATING SOUND OF COMPRESSOR DRIVES US NUTS. This fridge was delivered to us a little over 48 hours ago. The fridge compressor emits a piercing, fluctuating ringing noise, constantly, which can be heard throughout our house. It is so bad that we've turned off the fridge and stored our food in a cold garage instead. We went back twice within 48 hours to The Home Depot to resolve the situation, yet they claim "the department" is closed to return the fridge, and now we have to wait until after the 3 day holiday if we have to take it up with the manufacturer. This product is DEFECTIVE. At the very least our fridge, perhaps the whole line. Just before posting this I noticed a long list of similar complaints for the first time. A little post purchase research may have me feeling buyers remorse. This unit’s ability to maintain consistent temperatures at factory setting throughout the different shelves, based on what I read, is far from satisfactory. Out of the 15 areas tested over a 72 hour period, only 12 of those areas maintained the minimum required temperature of 40 degrees to prevent bacteria growth and spoilage. Of significant importance was the door where EVERY area of the door exceeded safety recommendations, with the top shelve coming in over 50 degrees. That’s particularly important to me as I store approximately $2000 dollars in insulin vials on that shelve at any given time. I’ve purchase 6 thermometers that will stay in separate parts of the fridge and freezer (freezer tested above the recommended zero degrees in ALL areas.) DO not use factory settings. Adjust the fridge and freezer setting to their lowest setting. Do not store highly perishable items or medications requiring refrigeration on door, especially the top 2 door shelves. Use top shelf of main refrigerator for can drinks, or condiments that have a tons of preservatives. With the setting adjust to their lowest setting, the top shelf of the fridge and the door get better, but still not to the FDA’s recommended 40 degrees. Above 40 will get your favorite restaurant written up. EVERY chef, every owner, every front line cook knows this. (BTW, I’ve spent my first 2 days verifing that my post-purchase research is correct. My egg shelve was 51 degrees. The top shelf of refrigerator was 47). Regardless of all the features, bells and whistles, the oft forgotten purpose of a fridge is to prevent spoilage and bacteria growth. For a company of Fridgidaire’s size to mass market a product that fails to meet minimum temperature requirements seems odd. If not their reputation then their liability. Very strange.

Home Depot had an installation crew deliver and install the fridge and everything is functioning as hoped. Plenty of storage space in both freezer and fridge. We saw this model in the store and, after looking at several other models, we ordered it online while we were still in the store looking at it. So happy with our purchase! This replaced a more expensive troublesome French door refrigerator. I like the side by side features especially the placement and performance of the icemaker. The counter depth feature is great for saving space without losing much in capacity. I love the finish and the fact that it is magnetic, even though my wife won't let me put any magnets on the front! The interior layout is logical and there is room for almost anything you would need. The meat/cheese drawer gets super cold if you set the temperature to coldest. I also love the space next to the ice maker in the freezer that is perfect for pizza crusts and such. Wish I would have purchased a while back instead of being frustrated by a dud fridge.

We have had this fridge for 1 day and after trying to put a few magnets on there was small scrarches form barely moving the magnet around. Even the reqlly flate magnets left minimal scratches. We have a three year old and we like tk hang stuff on the fridge but we apparently cant. If you arent planning on hanging stuff on the stainless steel part then this is a good fridge. Im not sure why people keep saying its loud...ours sounds like a nornal fridge and it works very well. Anyways for around $1200 i would like to hang my sons artwork or a calendar on the front but that cant happen unless we get some type of protector.

Great refrigerator ! I was a little hesitant going to a 22 cubic foot from a 26 foot fridge but this one seem to hold almost as much. I'm guessing the layout is more efficient. The ice maker is narrower leaving a half a shelf where there was none in my old one. So far really happy with this refrdgerator .

We just bought this refrigerator along with the entire 4 piece set. After reading all the reviews I was almost hesitant to buy it because everyone said how noisy it was and that the drawers wouldn't slide, etc. I am sure glad I didn't go by the reviews because the refrigerator has a hum just like any other refrigerator I have owned and mine doesn't have the high pitched noise a few people talked about. The drawers are fine as long as you pull them straight out and push them back in. I think the whole set is very nice. However, I didn't notice in the store that the sides of the refrigerator weren't stainless steel and the sides of the stove weren't stainless steel (you cant really see it on the stove). My husband made a good point....less to clean! The sides are like a regular refrigerator but grey in color so it blends in really well with the front and it still looks nice. The water and ice feature on the front is nice. If I had to complain about anything it would be that you cant put anything tall in the slots on the door. The top two cubbys are adjustable to where the wide cubby that you usually put milk in would be tall. Overall there is a lot of room in it and I just have to get used to a side-by-side. Definitely love my purchase!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator was purchased and delivered 5 days later. Upon arrival, the fridge was 77 degrees Fahrenheit in both the freezer and the fridge sides; 3 hours later, temperatures dropped to 0 and 37 degrees respectively. I have not had a fridge in the past that cooled as quickly as this Frigidaire (my previous refrigerator took 24 hours after the initial plug-in to cool to normal temperatures). I am not sure about the loud noise the others have mentioned; the only noise that is "loud" is when ice is made and drops into the bin, even then, it is a normal sound. Compressor and fan noise is quiet as well; no louder than any other fridge. Overall, it is a very nice looking fridge both inside and out; fingerprint resistant, magnetic stainless steel. One gripe is that I wish it had more shelves to place soda cans and whatnot (I will be purchasing more accessory shelves from Frigidaire in the near future). Per the instruction manual, the water dispenser does not cool the water. Our old fridge did cool the water but this is not a big issue for me.

We upgraded from a very old fridge to this shiny new one and it is great! Yes, it does have a bit of a whine sometimes, but it's not enough to bother us. Love the ice maker and water in the door. It's one of the cheaper counter depth fridges we could find and it saves us a lot of space. Also the fingerprint free finish is great.

I bought this Fridgidaire Gallery fridge to replace my 18 year old Fridgidaire Gallery fridge after it died, the new fridge was delivered the day after Thanksgiving. I liked the way it looked and the fact that it was counter depth, which would allow it to sit more flush in the enclosure. My biggest issue with this fridge is that it has a loud whine, I can hear it all the time, so there is never actual silence in my home. It's like a high pitched whine, it's very noticeable and since the kitchen is near my bedroom, I can hear it even in there and in the living room. With no TV on or stereo you can hear it all the time, I even hear it when I do have the stereo on, as it’s a single frequency that’s constant vs changing like music and TV. They might say that new compressors all do this, but then why don't all new fridges have complaints about this whine? Sound insulation issue, I am not sure but surely other companies have dealt with this issue if all new compressors whine. My fiancée has a brand new Samsung fridge and doesn’t have this issue, so while that might be an issue with modern compressors, obviously other companies have solved hearing the whine issue. I was hoping my brain would just eventually tune it out, but it's been almost two weeks and it's driving me crazy as it's constant. When I work from home I do so at my dining table and it’s a constant high pitched whine that starts to give me a headache. It’s almost like psychological warfare, I actually powered the fridge off via the front panel to get some relief, but clearly this is not a solution one should need to use for a brand new fridge. In addition the draws in the fridge do not open well at all, so that’s another negative on this fridge. I could see getting past this issue, but not the whine. I would avoid this fridge and look at others, I have called Fridgidaire via the Home Depot number and have set-up a ticket. However this is a brand new fridge, I shouldn't be dealing with issues like this right away. Other people have posted the same issue, I was hoping that they were a one off as there were some positive reviews, but clearly not as I am having this issue right away. I will have to wait and see how Home Depot and/or Fridgidaire handle this issue. As of right now, I am not happy living with it and would rather return it and get another fridge that does not have this constant whine.

Fits the New Paradigm. Somewhere in the recent past, kitchen appliances have become as disposable as, well, most everything else we use. This Fridge fits that model nicely. Plus the freedom of going Counter Depth for less money is A+. I mean what do you expect for under a Grand? It replaces a unit from a well known Korean Manufacturer with lasted 7 years and 3 sets of door gaskets. The first thing you notice is its remarkable feel of cheapness. From the hollow door handles (which someone must have worked on to make them feel even cheaper than they are) to the plastic bins which are made of material that is only one step above some packaging plastic I have encountered. They stick and you will need to use the Wax Paper trick (rub the slides) or spray the slides with silicone spray (Food Grade). The rest of the interior is just meh (which is good). One shelf slides, and they are adjustable. It has a drawer for meat and such that can hold a Costco sized egg container with room to spare. The veggie and fruit bins are big and deep. On the freezer side everything is up to snuff except the icemaker which is scary in its operation, It will produce an avalanche of ice at times and other times you want to assume the "Wheeze the Juice" position and request some ice. The crushed ice is brought forth with a cacophonous racket that will rattle your fillings. The water is dispensed unchilled to an area without a little tray. You know, that little tray that doubles as a BioWeapons Lab Petri dish because you never clean it. The freezer has some nice wire bins on the inside and an Ice Cream shelf. Speaking of noise, my goodness what a racket. This thing makes more noises than a room full of preschoolers. But as I don't sleep in the kitchen, this is only a passing concern. I love it so far. Doing its job, noisily. One last thing, if you buy this fridge for Pete's sake, replace the stupid cheap bulbs they put in the inside with some leds. The fridge side takes four T7 bulbs. The freezer takes one E26/27 (medium/standard) bulb.

ice maker dispenser stopped working and water is constantly leaking from the bottom ruining my flooring.

Water leaked from valve on the back after 6 months. We are now working with our homeowners insurance to replace our ruined kitchen flooring and hoping Frigidaire will cover our deductible.

Worst fridge I’ve ever owned. Noisy to the point of waking me up at night, randomly freezes vegetables, and now the user interface panel on the front is dying after only five years, which I discovered while looking online is a very common failure with this fridge. Appliances in general are overpriced junk these days.

I received this fridge today and the freezer lights don’t work. After spending hours removing all of the tape and plastic pretty frustrating to see that it doesn’t work correctly.

Bins in the door CONSTANTLY BREAKING. Even though i used them correctly and didnt overload them, they broke and fell off and everything shattered on the floor. Every one of the door bins. The shelves and bins in the freezer are also cheaply made and break, too.

Louder than our older fridge that it replaced, but otherwise great.

This fridge makes a very loud high pitched scream noise when it runs. I had the tech come out and he said this is normal for the fridge..... this is a junk fridge!

Quality was terrible. We sent it back immediately. Furthermore, the company Home Depot uses to deliver their appliances is the WORST!!!!

Terribly LOUD! I called. And told, That’s just the way the compressor Is - noisy. I would welcome exchange But basically impression from Frigidaire I got was “too bad”
