The handle broke while splitting logs. Lasted only one year.

This axe simply murders seasoned firewood. I use this particular model to double-split larger pieces of pre-split firewood for a better firebox fit and burn. It also comes in handy on small jobs like cutting kindling and chopping branches. Well-designed, super light weight and the sheath is an added bonus as the blade is soft. It usually splits with one strike, and NEVER gets lodged. I haven't used it to split any full diameter logs, but I'd imagine it would work just fine, although the longer-handled models would most likely be better-suited.

I needed a smaller axe just for splitting wood. This axe is a nice weight, very sharp and works well.

This is what I was looking for. Perfect to carry on backpacking and base camp. It simply works. The hardest of seasoned red oak or white oak logs are axed with relative ease for the size. Knots can still challenge you, but most often it splits with gusto.

This Splitting axe fits the niche between a Camp hatchet and an larger Axe. It is small enough and light enough to strap to a pack. However, it is still big enough to wield two handed. It delivers devastating blows to the most formidable seasoned logs often splitting them completely with one strike!

I have a FEW...Fiskars splitting axes/mauls, and this X11 fit very nicely in my collection. I found that I used it a lot more than I thought I would. Very comfortable to use.

IMO not as shock absorbing as wood handle. Splitting was no better than other hatchet I have. After seeing so many great reviews I expected this to be better. I prefer my old hatchet and ax,

It's a sharp and well balanced splitting axe for smaller jobs. I like the grio, too. I split larger logs with my big Husqwarna axe and then use Fiskars X11 to sllit them further. After one on the first uses the blade chipped and the edge partially rolled on an aged pine logs.

This is a very nice short/medium Hatchet/splitter. It’s a good length for portability but maybe go with a longer handle if that isn’t a big issue. Splits would very well but I can’t say how well the blade and all that holds up. Also, I’m not an expert but am happy with my purchase.

This axe is awesome for splitting firewood into smaller pieces or making kindling.

durable axe, does the job

I'm a big fan of my Fiskars X25 and my Fiskars 8-lbs. splitting maul - both are fantastic tools. I got an X11 based on my experience with those two tools and with the purpose of chopping kindling out of larger pieces of split hardwood. This is a well-made tool, but it is just too light for my intended purpose. I am going to give the X17 a try to see if it might be a better fit for this use.
