I purchased this upright freezer for the garage and had them reverse the door at the time of delivery. We plugged this unit in and less than 24 hours later it was very frosty and snowy inside. BIG disappointment!!! If this issue is a result of having them reverse the door, perhaps Frigidaire should not market it as having a reversible door. I will be calling the local store to return this junk.

I received my upright freezer as a Christmas present from my parents. They have been Frigidaire loyalists for over 30 years, so were passing the baton to me :). After 3 weeks with this thing, I’m not sure how I got by without one. The EvenTemp technology is incredible and I love the green light at the bottom that tells me it’s purring nicely inside. This freezer was just delivered on 12/26/20. We transferred frozen food from our chest freezer to it and left it closed for 24 hrs. By the next day it had accumulated a surprising amount of frost in the top half of the freezer. We were shocked and brushed off/removed as much as we could, chalking it up to condensation that had melted during the transfer. It's now been closed for several more days and I opened it this morning to find another alarming sight! This is definitely NOT frost free and I am looking for advice on how to proceed.

Try checking a couple things on your freezer’s door. Is the door closing/sealing properly? Are there any tears, or holes on the gasket? Is your appliance on a leveled surface? It is very important for your refrigerator to be level to function properly. If your unit is not leveled, this may cause your door to be misaligned and not close or seal properly, which could lead your freezer to have cooling, frost, or moisture problems. This freezer is incredible. After about 3 hours, the freezer was super cold. One trip to the store and it was fully stocked. There is a great comfort knowing you have a stocked freezer to cook indoors (especially right now). The green light feature is an awesome addition as well. I highly recommend Frigidaire - the quality is second to none!
We bought this freezer because we wanted an upright vs. a chest freezer so we could see everything a little easier and this model is the perfect size for a family of 5. We are highly pleased with our new upright freezer. The shelves are adjustable and the bottom basket perfectly fits our annual 40 lb. share of Alaskan Sockeye salmon fillets so they no longer spill out on the floor. The spacious 13 cubic foot capacity has plenty of room for much more including whole chickens, a 20 lb turkey and lots more meats, freezer canned homegrown tomatoes and garden vegetables in the spacious door shelves. It is completely frost free and the interior light makes everything easily visible. We also love the door ajar alarm and normal operation exterior green indicator light. The tall, slender profile fits nicely in the corner of our basement utility room. Due to having to evacuate my home for 3 days because of a forest fire that came to my neighborhood the food in my freezer spoiled due to the electricity going off. Upon returning home I purchased a new freezer with a 2-day promise to keep my food cold for 2 days if the electricity goes out. I especially like that feature, but also really like the green light continuously informing me that the freezer is still on. Even though it is a 13 cubic foot freezer, don't think for a minute that it is small. Beautiful freezer. Bigger than I thought it would be, plenty of room for our needs. There is a green indicator light that stays on near the floor so that you know at a glance that the freezer is on and functioning properly. I like this feature especially since we have the freezer in the garage. It’s easy to see that it’s working as I pass by it. The interior is roomy with well spaces shelves. So far so good! Hi Nelson. The design is most certainly frost free. However, if you are experiencing frost inside the door, then we would recommend inspecting the door seal. If the seal is not tight, this would allow warm air to enter, causing the frost. We can work together to determine what the frost is caused from.
