When comparing the Energy Guide label of our GE Appliances freezers, it's important to be sure you are comparing like models. For example, the Energy Guide label for the FUF21QRR (21.3 cubic ft) shows 551 kWH, whereas the Energy Guide label for the FUF17QRR (17.3 cubic ft) shows 489 kWH. The GE Appliances rep that provided the information you're clarifying was correct based on the models being compared. You will find there are differences between our glass shelf models vs our wire shelf models. -Vikki@GEAppliances
The difference is very minimal at approximately 6 kWh. The Energy consumption on a 21.3 cubic ft. model is 495 kWh and the 17.3 cubic ft is at 489 kWh. The average cost is 12 cents per kilowatt in Kentucky. The larger model would cost approximately .72 cents more a year to operate. Joyce@GEAppliances
The door bins can be lifted straight up to be taken off of the supports to be cleaned, then lined up and put back into place once they're clean and dry. -Don@GEAppliances
The power cord is 5' long. -Vikki@GEAppliances
This freezer does not have a lock and key. We do have model FUF14DLRWW that has a lock. Either one would be a great addition to your kitchen! -Kacie@GEAppliances
We haven't had even the slightest but of frost.
This model is frost free so there shouldn't be any frost buildup around the fan. -Don@GEAppliances
