Just received this morning every thing looks great still waiting for cool down to transfer food

Bought this freezer.It been little over 7 month now and after 7 month is not working.It says high temperature all the time and temperature inside the freezer is high 60 fahrenheit.My food in the freezer got wasted and I called GE and they sent a technician after 2 weeks and the guy came check the freezer and order 3 parts.And after a week another technician came and changed the old part with new and I thought the freezer will be good after that.But 2 days after fixing the freezer it’s same like before not working.It’s almost been a month now the freezer is not working.Don’t buy this product.I want to return this product not sure how do I do it.

We bought this freezer due to the display control panel being on the outside and the size. Very disappointed in shelving. First it only has 4 shelves that do not allow much to be stored on them without adding tall plastic containers. More importantly the glass shelves bow under any kind of load. We added 37 pounds of beef to one shelf and it bows so much the drawer is close to not opening. GE claims in other reviews that the shelf can hold 75 pounds. I think it would break at 75 lbs.

Purchased this product to store frozen meat purchased in bulk. Product did well for the warranty period but then quit a few months post warranty. With this happening it destroyed meat which was worth more than the freezer itself. Very disappointed.

I purchased this product in July 2023 specifically for a large order of beef which filled the complete freezer. Also bought this model specifically for the door lock feature. The freezer works wonderfully and has ample space BUT the lock is an engineering failure. The door has a metal hook which when in the lock position fits into a PLASTIC FIXTURE WHICH IS "GLUED" TO THE FOAM INSULATION OF THE FREEZER. Pull forcefully on the door and the "plastic fixture" comes unglued and the door opens. I paid extra for a locking freezer to protect my purchase of over $1300 of beef, and got a plastic fitting glued to foam. This is an engineering failure.

Very nice Freezer that keeps things frozen like it should but my only complaint would be that if you expect the lock to keep people out forget about it as I locked the door and later when I went to open it I gave it a tug cause with the nice seal you have to use a little force to open this freezer and the whole plastic lock part on the inside of the freezer came out of the casing of the inside of the freezer thereby making the lock useless and G. E. will not replace or fix this problem they say I broke it and I say it's a faulty design. Shame on G.E. for not backing up their products what good is a lock when just a little tug renders the lock useless. I bought this freezer to keep the kids out of it but I guess G.E. cannot make a reliable strong locking system in their freezers anymore.

Pro: freezes well Cons: freezer door is very hard to open even the first time (after you open the door the first time, you have to wait about 15 secs before trying to open again). I fixed this for my mother by placing door stops under the front to stop it from rolling forward (wheels do not lock) and added a suction cup bathroom grab handle to the side so she could brace it in place when opening. Now she can open it without the whole unit rolling forward.

Just got this but love that it has a lock, temperature control on the front door and lots of room. I will update this review after we have had it for a year.

Just got it installed. The delivery was on time. No damages. Outside and inside of the freezer look beautiful with glass shelves and pull-out drawers. A lot of space. The electronic controls and indicators on the the front door external surface are so easy to use. Started deep freeze mode as soon as it was plugged in with high temperature visual and audible alarms coming on. So far very good.

Arrived on time for delivery unfortunately the top drawer is broken. The plastic surrounding a screw broke off. Now I'll need to work to get a replacement drawer

I love my upright deep freezer is awesome and when the guy deliver they did a good job

Great freezer. Space is optimal for the size and the shelves and drawers are perfect. Control panel is so easy to read and use.

This freezer has broken down twice in 2 years. The fan motor went out last week. It's a $465 repair bill! Don't waste your money on this freezer.

Great and fit perfectly in our garage. Easy to clean.

Awesome upright! Perfect!

Purchased April 2021 from HDepot w/GE 1 year warranty. I knew there was a risk in not getting ext. warranty but my goodness literally 2 years to the day I purchase the unit internal fan that circulates cold air is not working and I can't find the part number or where to purchase it anywhere. Top of freezer not cooling. Called GE and they said they would gladly send a repair tech to diagnose problem for only $139 not inc parts & labor. Absurd! Many 1-star reviews have same issues after 2 years.

I’m really happy with this freezer. We replaced a standing freezer that still worked but was 15 years old and was starting to show its age. Here are some specifics I noticed about this freezer: • It is tall at around 77” tall, it is 7” taller than a standard freezer or refrigerator. • The interior of the freezer is vast. It can hold a large amount of food. • There are a couple of shelves that can be adjusted but not by more than a couple of inches each. In other words, there’s not a lot of variation as to the shelf configuration. • The door bins are not adjustable. They aren’t all that large either so, large items will not fit here. • The unit is super quiet. I can barely notice when its running. • The controls are right on the center of the door and are simple to use and understand. • The unit is definitely frost free. I made sure to open the door a lot to see if I could get any build up and there was none. I’m impressed with this aspect of the freezer. • The power consumption rating is very low for a freezer. I’m sure I will see a savings compared to my old unit it replaced. • The lock on the side of the door is simple and it works. • I am also impressed with the seal around the door. It is made of a softer, more supple material than the simple rubber strip that many refrigerators and freezers come with (which crack over time). It seems like it seals very well and looks like it might hold up to the cracking better than rubber or vinyl. • The interior light is not overpowering but it is bright. I also like that it’s an LED which should last much longer and use less power than a bulb. • The delivery folks were professional, on time and had it installed in a tight spot in just a few minutes. Overall, I think this freezer is a good choice for anyone’s storage needs. I think it’s worth the cost as it delivers on what it promises and does so without any bells, whistles or frills. It just works.

I like it because of the alarm for low temperature has a great storage Benz. Frosttree of course small profile because it's an upright I'm very happy with it.

My wife loves it. Appears to be well built. Working good right now.

I have owned this freezer since early December 2022. It has worked great for what we need. I have a 15 cu. ft chest to go along with it. Could not be any happier.

I live in small house in Fl.and freezer has a garage ready feature that allows me to put it out in my carport. The inside is perfect for my needs and convenience of finding my product.

I have had this freezer for 1 month now. I am very impressed with the storage capacity and was very please with the delivery and install. I do live in the South, where the summers can be quite brutal in temperature. With that being said, I am looking forward to how this freezer will cool and remain efficient through the summer heat.

Like the shelving seems well built, solid doors very sturdy!

This freezer has been trouble free for the last several years. We put it in the basement, so environmental temperatures have been a rather constant 65 degrees year round. I don't know for sure how much this matters, but the internal temperature of the freezer doesn't waiver much other than when the defrosting cycle takes place. Regardless, food stays frozen.

We just purchased this up right freezer and I think it was a good choice!! My wife also kept telling me you did good babe…. Lol thanks GE for give me the extra brownie points.

Works great! It’s so easy to organize and find all my different types of foods. Larger bags of frozen food are no longer sliding out the door, avalanching onto my feet, because the drawers keep them secure. I love the temp. controls on the door. Easy to understand and use. Door shelves are a good size to hold my butter, bacon, sausage link packs and chubs. Haven’t noticed any noise when I am in my garage where it is. Looking forward to lower energy bill. Why did I wait so long to buy this? I love it.

This is my first upright freezer, I'm used to using the chest style freezers. This one actually replaces one that I had and I don't think I will go back to that type. It has its benefits, such as the cold air stays in when you have a chest freezer. But an upright freezer makes use of space in a much better manner. You don't loose a lot of floor space. Beyond that, this one has done an excellent job keeping my freezer items cold for years. Even in the heat of Texas summer, my garage hits 85F easily, sometimes higher, this freezer does a great job of staying cool. It has a lot of space, and it's easy to find almost anything.

This is an update after five and a half years of owning the GE Garage Ready 21.3 cu.ft. Frost-Free Upright Freezer. It has been in our garage ever since it was delivered back in May of 2017 and has served us flawlessly. Here in Texas we get extreme weather with temperatures dipping as low as 0* and as high as 115* with our garage offering only minimal protection. Yet, the freezer performs consistently well without a hitch. We like the key locking feature which we use when our grand kids come to visit, to limit their access to the ice cream! The only complaint we have, and it is a minor one, is that the door is so tightly sealed that we have to give it a hearty tug to open it. Other than that, zero problems.

I would recommend GE Garage Ready 21.3 cu. ft. Frost-Free Upright Freezer in White. I have been using this Freezer for about two years now and it is the best Freezer I have ever owned. I like the easy to ready temperature gauge, that tells me how cold the freezer is at all times. The sleek upright style makes it easy to fit into most locations. I placed mine in my mud room. As you can see from the photo it holds so much food, I still do not have it filled all the way. Easy to set up and use. It self defrosts, so no ice build up.

I have owned this freezer for over five years. It has served us well keeping our food investments perfectly frozen at 4 degrees. We literally cram fill the freezer and still everything remains evenly frozen without freezer burn. Just wanted to let everyone know how great this freezer works. And we absolutely recommend it to family friends and everyone. You will not be disappointed.
