Garage Ready 14.1 cu. ft. Frost Free Defrost Upright Freezer in White

We’ve been extremely happy with the GE 14.1 cu ft upright freezer so far. The capacity is truly impressive , we were able to fit half a beef, roughly 200 pounds of meat, with room to spare, and the upright design makes organizing everything easy and accessible. Larger cuts, ground beef, and packaged items all fit comfortably without feeling crammed, and nothing gets lost at the bottom like in a chest freezer. It’s been very compatible with our space and needs, fitting well in our setup and running quietly on a standard outlet with no special requirements. Temperature control has been excellent from day one, holding a consistent, solid freeze throughout the freezer and giving us confidence that our meat is being stored safely. While we haven’t owned it long enough to give a measurable assessment of long-term efficiency or frost buildup, initial performance has been smooth and reliable with no issues so far. Overall, this freezer feels well-built, thoughtfully designed, and more than capable of handling serious bulk storage. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable upright freezer with substantial capacity.

We purchased this freezer two years ago. It was not frost free. We let that go. Not a big deal to us. However, it has now completely stopped working. Warranty has expired. GE has made it clear that there isn’t anything they are willing to do to stand behind their expensive, two year old product. (So glad we didn’t sell our 20+ year old freezer!!!) Extraordinarily disappointed in this purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am thrilled with my new freezer. It cooled quickly on Turbo freeze and is super quiet. The crisper drawers are a wonderful addition along with all the door shelves. Holds a large amount of food.

This is a replacement for the very same freezer that only lasted 2 years after I purchased it. Thank goodness i had the presence of mind to pourchase an extra warranty insurance on it! This newer one looks the same as the first one that I had. However, the door is extremely difficult to open. The suction that it has is far too much and sometimes I just can't seen to get it open. The capacity is good, but it could use more shelves. I like fact that the shelves are glass and not metal. It is frost free, so you don't need to defrost it. So far, it is keeping the temp at -6 degrees F. So it is doing a good job there. It is very quiet which is nice as well. I like the fact that it has drawers on the bottom and one on the top shelf, and the lighting is good in it as well. I did purchase an additional warranty on this one as well, given the fact that the GE appliances don't last very long.
