This is such a help for someone who has arthritis. My son got it for me and then I bought it for a neighbor.
I ordered online. It was delivered to the store and my son picked it up for me.
I highly recommend it.
Made life easier. No longer need to walk into a dark room to turn a lamp on =)
I wished they sold them in the store instead of just online. More people would buy them. Wished they made one with two switches for the bedroom, one at the door and one for the bed for same light.
Works great. Plug the receiver into an outlet, plug the lamp into the receiver and voila! My onnly wish is that the light switch could be mounted directly over an existing wall switch (after removing the existing switch mechanism from the wall) - I replaced an old wall switch that operated an outlet too far from where I wanted the switched outlet to be.
I gave it a good and recommended it only because it does what's it supposed to do. I needed a light to turn on upon entering the front door and this made it easy. I was a little skeptical in that I had to leave the light turned on and then for me I had to run an extension cord to the lamp. I see now that a small led comes one when it's activated and that makes me feel a little better. The rocker type switch works in either the top or bottom push. I have not felt the receptacle unit to see if it gets hot while either in off or on position so that might be a concern for some. Distance I was not worried about, in that my switch was going to be within 12 feet. Instructions are showing a 100 foot range. Not much more to it. The one really down side to it is that the switch takes a small half the size of a triple A battery. I would be guessing that the only place that would sell this size of a battery is where you purchased the switch and receiver. I saw no place that stated how long the battery would last, so just on a whim maybe buy a second one. It does come with two small screws to mount the switch, but I used two that are a little bit larger. Sop hope this helps in your decision making about a remote controlled light switch...
Replacing an old Handy Switch with this one. The operation of the switch is VERY smooth and seems very durable! I mounted the switch under a kitchen cabinet to turn on the power to 2 spot lights in the ceiling which are connected to an electrical outlet in the ceiling. Does the job perfectly! The switch itself is very slim so you don't see it under the cabinet. I will be buying more since I have a few more places I can use this item! LOVE!!!
