Q:can you put this switch under an extended gang faceplate so it looks integrated with the rest of your switches?

Answer This Question

A: This might be possible, but we don't recommend it. It is supposed to mimic the entire switch and plate and will extend from the wall once installed (depth:1.75 inches), which means your extended gang faceplate will have to have a depth of at least 1.75 inches and middle opening of at least 2.125 in in order to cover it. However, it might be easier to place it on top of a edge hider with a large enough center opening to accomade the switches you are placing into it. Q:Can you install the switch behind a faceplate with your regular light switches? Obviously it won't be hardwired, it's just faking the switch is.

A: We don't recommend this as the switch is only attached to the wall via screws, and will protrude from the wall about 1.75 inches.

I had purchased two of these with the intent of using them in adjacent rooms. I had to return one once I confirmed with the manufacturer they must be 100 feet apart for one switch to not activate both plugs.
