The installer really liked that the unit came with everything needed and I love that it has an auto mode that automatically keeps the temp between 68 - 77 - it works great in our garage

First, this is definitely not a self install unless you have AC experience. Install ended up costing $1100. I would give this 4-stars were it not for the Wi-Fi. The unit cools a two-car garage that is insulated on two sides and ceiling as well as an insulated garage door within minutes and very comfortable. It loses one star because it will not automatically kick on based on temperature. It loses two more stars because the wifi permissions it commands are ridiculous and a security risk. I have many connected devices that do way more important functions and dont request anywhere near the permissions. Even isolating it wont matter because the App permissions would give open access to our phones and tablets to third parties. I spent several hundred more on this device for a feature that I cannot use.

This install was more than a DIY project.

This unit was installed in a metal building with very little insulation. With excessive heat everyday since it has been installed and cools wonderfully.

Easy to install. Only been a couple of days but so far so good. Thx. Saved me lots of money!!!

AC works perfect, but the wifi does not connect to my iPhone. When you call the Gree customer service, they will only speak with a AC technician, not you the customer. Bottom line is, the wifi module may be inop, but I have no way of verifying.

Works great! Quick install and easy to use.

Any mini-split is going to get clogged up "cross flow fan" (what Gree calls it, often called a blower wheel) because they have no air filter (the "filter" is like the netting on a screen door, it let's pretty much everything through dust wise). A Mitsubishi for example is probably 10 minutes tops to get that wheel. On the Gree stuff, you have to completely disassemble the whole dang unit far as I can tell. And their service manual only discusses how to install or remove and basic trouble shooting. It has NOTHING about maintaining or cleaning the unit and no info on how to get the blower wheel out, just how to completely remove the whole unit, drain the lines and everything. Pain in the ____ . I guess they don't expect people to deep clean the fan/wheel? Other brands you can pop it out, hose it off in the lawn, let it dry and stick it back in to get all your efficiency back. I guess with this one they just expect you to take a ton of time with a brush or something slowly cleaning it out. DO NOT try to clean it out with an air compressor unless you have mask or goggles or you're going to have eyes, nose, throat and lungs full of dust and possibly mold and mildew. Poorly thought out product. Wish they would have designed with USE in mind. It cools, yes. But the amount excess TIME this thing takes to own is not worth the savings in my opinion.

While the listing for this product does state that you need to buy the piping separately, it does not mention anywhere that additionally, you will need to purchase a drain pipe and adapter for draining the condensation. All together, this will cost an additional $387 plus tax per unit, so although the price tag of $778 looks good to someone trying to save money, the real cost is $1165 plus sales tax. I can't comment on how it works because although I purchased these units weeks ago, it takes so long for Home Depot to get the additional parts shipped, I have two that are halfway assembled on this 101 degree July day.

Bought this unit for a 10x12 ft area that is used for a home office studio. It keeps the area very cool, even on 115 degree days in the Arizona desert. We had it installed professionally, but everything is attractive and neat inside the office as well as outside. We keep it set at 80° when the office isn't in use and it's still very comfortable in there. I would recommend this unit.

Great instructions

I gave it a poor because the manufacturer had to sent me the line set three different times because it was the wrong size .you would think they would know there products and what size go with what . So my homeowner had to wait and I took a loss on the job .

Excellent unit went with the oversized unit to cool my garage 800sq’ garage gym. Purchased the styrofoam insulation panels for my garage doors and then I installed the Gree unit. The unit is quiet and has cooled my garage beyond my expectations. WiFi capabilities and the App allows me to control it from my phone so I can turn it on remotely and have the garage cooled by the time I start my workout. I live in The Central Valley of California and it can get up to 104-108 in the summer months so to say this unit can cool the garage says a lot about the unit.

After making sure the freon levels were correct with a licensed AC contractor, the unit does not cool properly. Discharge air temperature does not cool to normal levels.

We love it , it is quiet and cool up the room quickly
