One of the live edges had a visible crack that was glued in. Some other imperfections in the middle that were filled in. Not sure if this is what is expected from a live edge. Was a 4 piece glued together so the imperfections were a little hard to accept. But other than that it was good. You could get lucky but because it was such a heavy item we regretted getting it online without seeing in store. Almost kept it but would have been unhappy. The return was painless though. I repacked it and UPS came to pick up.

We took the suggestion of this companies representative in the questions and ordered two 8’ pieces to make a large island. One piece had a really bad bow that we were able to correct when attaching to our cabinets. The other piece was really warped and the back edge was not cut straight, so it left a huge gap at one end. It’s so crooked that you couldn’t use it against a wall without a gap either. There is a huge difference in the live edge appearance and color of the two pieces. One looks amazing and the other looks like a random 2x4 was attached and rounded for a counter edge. We decided it was too much work to try to correct the bad cut, so we tried to exchange it. It was out of stock, so Home Depot gave us the manufacture’s number. They never contacted us despite repeated calls and voicemails. A few weeks later it was back in stock and we made arrangements to exchange it. The replacement piece looks better, but it is cracked and splitting in many places.... including on the live edge. We called Home Depot to exchange it again, but it is out of stock. We are waiting to hear next week from Home Depot if manufacture will replace this countertop so we have two usable pieces. We literally have half a countertop attached and it’s been that was for over a month

I would give this a 5 star, but after I cut it down to the that I needed I noticed a big crack on the under side of it. Be sure to inspect it thoroughly before proceeding . Other than that it's a beautiful piece of wood.

Kitchen island turned out great. Counter top arrived in great condition and was easy to cut to desired length. Small amount of sanding on the cut end, small amount of butcher block oil and it matched the other end nicely.

Delivered in 2 days to my doorstep. It's beautiful. We love it!

Very nice hardwood piece. We trimmed the width to fit a fireplace mantle.

While it isn't a true live edge piece, I still love the way it looked. Unfortunately it has started splitting in various places and considering I purchased 2 of these and both have been splitting, it's a headache. They were installed and sealed so I've had no issues with water damage but have had to sand the splits happening on the front edge and live with the ones running down the length of the wood. They've not been exposed to excessive cold, heat, moisture, or dryness so not sure what the issue is. Other than the splits, I love them. Heads up, they do dent rather easily so if you want a perfectly flat, unmarked surface, go with something else.

I ordered this oil finished counter top so that I wouldn't need to finish it. Unfortunately, the oil finish shows water spots. It isn't next to a sink, but just the minor water drops from filling a coffee pot.

Beautiful piece of wood. Fits perfectly in our wet bar. We were going to do stone, but this saves us about a thousand dollars. Very happy!

This is a beautiful product that will make an excellent kitchen countertop. The only downside is that the "back side" which will rest against the wall is slightly rounded and must be sawed to achieve square corners...not easy with a heavy slab of 1 1/2" thick wood. To get the proper overhang so there are no drips down the cabinet face, we had to add a 1" by 1 1/2" strip of dark wood (we used walnut) which involved drilling for dowel pins, glue, and wide clamps.

I was nervous about ordering online because I was thinking that it may come damaged, but it arrived well packaged and looks great! I used this for a standing desk and it's perfect!

The countertop is about what I expected, maybe less water resistant than I imagined for a countertop. I ordered a 6’ piece but got a 5’ piece. I made it work and HD gave me a discount. Just sayin’.
