I live in a 115 year old historic building, I installed a new GE combo machine that hammered like crazy during the fill cycle. Installed these and I was surprised how well they worked, it eliminates the hammer 100%, the machine itself is also whisper quiet now when filling.

This is a perfect device if you hear knocking in your pipes when the connected watering device is suddenly shut off. If you have a watering timer, this is a must. Knocking is resolved.

Installed onto new washing machine to stop water hammer from occurring. Would have preferred to install these onto the wall shut offs instead , but they are an older style and would have made attaching the water hoses difficult. So far they seem good enough, but would have preferred a fully copper one since they tend to last longer than stainless. I don't have previously experience with this brand, but didn't have time to wait for my preferred brand of hammer arrestor.

Work excellent, stop banging in the wall with washer machine

I put these on the lines to the washing machine. I cannot notice any improvement. They are not completely vertical, but that's the angle I got with the fittings at HD.

I bought two of these to silence the severe water hammer caused by my new LG washer, which was audible over the entire house -- upstairs and downstairs. At first, it seemed like it was improved about 25%, so I didn't bother returning them. After 3-4 months, it was as bad as ever. A year later, I decided it was time to try again. Bought two, Sioux Chief 660-HB for hot and cold for $14.50 each and the result was amazing. Water hammer is only slightly audible. The hot water side seems worse, so I'm already planning to replace that cartridge with the larger Sioux Chief 652-A, since they simply unscrew with a wrench and are same size fitting.

After installing our automatic rainbird sprinkler timer our pipes would bang after the water would shut off. This was easy to install and has fixed the issue. Very happy with this purchase.

Our new washer caused more water hammer than older one. I saw good reviews for these Arrestors and bought two of them. I put them on yesterday and we now here no water hammer. Very easy to install. Simply turn off the water supply valve, disconnect washer water supply hose, connect Arrestor to valves, connect washer hose to Arrestor, turn on the water. Done. We've heard no "clunks" since installing the Arrestors. I installed one on each the hot and cold water supplies.

I read the reviews and And purchased this product because of the positive feedback. I bought and installed a pair At my house because the pipes started knocking when I installed a new washing machine. After reading the reviews I thought I should install them on the back of the washing machine So they would be vertical And have the flexible hose between them and the rigid copper pipe at the hook up. The connections at the back of the washer were too close together so I had to do it at the hook up. They’re installed horizontally and work just fine. They have even stopped the knocking in the bathroom sink 30 feet away.

Did the trick. Hammering stopped when washer fills. Easy to install.

Had(operative word there) issues with water hammer. I had bought 2 other kinds prior to this purchase, neither made much of a difference. This one, no more hammer time!

Had a water hammer issue with the clothes washer. Researched how to resolve and came upon the water hammer arrestor Works as described and eady installation. Well worth the money.

Severe hammering at outside water spigot after installing Rain Bird sprinkler kit and raising water pressure from 40 to 70. Installing this water arrestor on the spigot immediately fixed the problem. Happy customer!

We retired and bought a pier/beam house in Florida. Extreme water hammering when running the washing machine. I purchased two of these items and installed one of them on the cold side of incoming water to the washer. Installing the device on the water tap was only possible if the device was horizontal and not vertical. It did not stop the water hammering. I crawled under the house and saw lots of pipes (PVC) bouncing around (scary) when the hammering occurred. I was thinking I would replace everything with PEX or maybe install a bunch of pipe hangers or securing devices on the pipes that are on the ground. All sorts of ideas and dollar signs were swirling around in my head. I re-thought the installation of this device on the washer AND...looked to see if I could install them ON the machine instead of the faucet. Yes! So, I installed a device on the hot and cold inlets on the washer. WOW - the water hammering TOTALLY stopped!!! The website for this device says that it doesn't matter which direction it is installed - but it made a difference at my house !! And this wonderful device save me a lot of money and work! I highly recommend it and hope it works as well for you as it is doing for me.

It eliminated the water hammer on my washing machine. I'm sure my copper plumbing will be safer from the surges. Money well spent.

My water hammer problem was not at my washing machine, it was at our water softener caused when the hose bib on our patio was in use. My wife uses a trigger-controlled shower nozzle to water her vegetable garden she grows in pots due to our gopher problem. Each time the trigger on the nozzle stopped the water flow, the pipes at the water softener banged. Installing this water hammer arrestor completely eliminated the banging noise at the water softener. I should no longer have to worry about dealing with a broken pipe now.

One worked and one did not. Ours is a pain to replace as we have a counter above our w/d. Will replace the bad one with a higher quality device.

They are louder than the ones we were replacing. Returning the product.

I had an older Oatey that was good quality. Unfortunately HD has chosen to source these from C now with mediocre quality. I refuse to buy...

Easy to install, and solved my problem. when the washer would run, all the pipes in the house would make noise and shake (I could see them jumping around in the basement). I was worried that the motion would wear on the pipe where the hangers held the piped to the floor joists. The install on hot and cold only took 15 minutes.

I promise you this works. We installed a new hot water heater expansion tank and our pipes still rattled when the wash machine was on. Installed this and problem solved. Very happy.

This device has definitely helped with the hammer effect on my water lines in my house.
