Poorly Made
Like others have mentioned this is poorly made. Plastic part to wrap around the cord broke within a week. The cord came out and now it does not work at all. Had this for 8 months and now I'm moving on.

    Sadly we had to buy this unit again, just bought first one in January. The cord simply came out from connections inside. Nothing strengthening cord so does not pull on it where it enters the vacuum. Just amazing so poorly secured on a known pull area. Sending the Jan unit back in for service. Great vacuum, poor build quality!

      Run away from this.
      Apparently Home Depot doesn’t want me to explain how awful this thing is. They limit me in my response so you have to trust me, or go ahead and buy one to figure it out for yourself. It REEKS and the stink does not go away with cleaning. It is flimsy and built cheaply. Suction is good, cord is nice, Again it stinks up the whole room when you run it. Our shop vac that cleans up wayward used cat litter and dried cat vomit smells better than this thing. I will never buy hoover again.

        Great vacuum, bad design for the handle. The handle has broke next to the power switch. $ 80.00 per year to own . It is not acceptable for the price for the handle to break . This is not the quality I expected with the brand .

          Awesome vacuum
          I absolutely love this vacuum. When on and in an upright position the brush roll shuts off automatically so it doesn't sit there and chew up your carpet when using the wand attachments. It also has a button to press with your foot to turn off the brush roll to do hard floor surfaces. It has 7 height adjustments most vacuums only have 3. The wand attachment is awesome, when you detach the hose and re-attach it you know it's attached because it "clicks" back into place. The suction is incredible! I could go on and on about this vacuum. It really is the BEST vacuum on the market that you buy!

            Bought this six months ago after my old one died out. I have two cats, including a medium haired one who sheds frequently, as well as a litter box on carpet (small house, no other place to put it). This vacuum seems to handle the hair and litter pretty well, and I haven't had any issues yet. It was a little confusing to figure out how to empty to container, and it sometimes sticks - you have to get everything lined up perfectly. My old one wasn't as difficult. The plastic "hook" for wrapping the cord broke off after three months, so, now we have to sort of loop the cord over the handle which isn't great. It works very well on carpet, not so great on bare floors, and I've tried it with both roller off (as you're supposed to on bare floors) and roller on (just to see if it's different). The wand accessory works really well, though on flat surfaces, like along edges, but, it's a little cumbersome to use that on an entire surface. For the price, though, I'll just use a broom on flat surfaces.

              Best Vacuum Cleaner on the Planet!!!
              I purchased this vacuum cleaner in 2018 and it was absolutely fabulous!!! It was inadvertently thrown away in 2019 and I had a less desirable model purchased for me. I dealt with the other model for almost two years. When I ran across the model details for the WindTunnel I purchased before; I purchased it again. I am totally satisfied with my vacuum cleaner NOW and the ease of my cleaning experience. I have only ever used Hoover products and this vacuum cleaner has been the best yet!!! I have had two different models in the past few years and this model is fantastic.

              The worst vacuum! It scratched our hardwood floors because the spinning section ion keeps randomly dropping! Also, on our low carpet it will not roll forward! You would need a body builder to move this vacuum. It is very poorly built. We thought it was our cheapest option to pick up dog hair! Wow! What a rip off! I am a smart consumer and checked reviews. Maybe I got a lemon! Do NOT buy.

              DO NOT BUY
              This vacuum sucks. It really does. And that's all it does. It is AWESOMELY powerful and with pet hair in the house, I could not be happier with it's performance. That's where the glowing review stops. My Hoover is about a year old and my previous vac - a Dyson - lasted a good ten years so it's not me. I also have an older Hoover bagged vacuum and a Hoover carpet cleaner, both of which are great. I just don't know why this one is such bad quality. 1. The plastic parts are cheap and flimsy. The bottom plastic bit to hook the cord around to store snapped off within weeks, the plastic to hold the attachments also broke off months later AND the plastic to hold the hose in place on the left side is cracked and ready to break off. So forget having attachments handy on the machine and storing it neatly. And when I vacuum everything is flopping around. 2. When you empty the cannister the bottom keeps a good chunk of dirt and debris in crevices, so you have to move it over and tap it to get the rest out (if it hasn't already emptied back on the floor.) 3. I knew I would have to turn a knob to change from floor to use the hose but with everything else - it's a pain. 4. The cord is at the the bottom so you have to hold it up so you don't roll over it vacuuming. Could I get things fixed under warranty? Maybe - but I really hate so many things about it I'm calling it a lesson (and a lost $170) and giving up. Buyer Beware.

I even had them check other boxes and all were the same i called hoover and the supervisor excuse was and I quote " may not look the same, may not bee the same, but still works the same" their selling basic units in a 3 generation box I looked up the serial number on the unit and it matched the display and the unit pictured on the box. BUT it was what was in the box !!! Your display and Hoover even claims a 5 year warrantee but listed on the box is 3 years I will never buy a Hoover Again You should forward this to corporate and have them investigate how Hoover is according to hoover a supervisor is intentionally ripping off your consumers

                We just purchased this vacuum two weeks ago as we had moved into a new home with carpet and we have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. This vacuum claims to be a "Performance Pet Vacuum". It's not. It will not pick up the fur that it adhering to the carpet. I hate it and will be returning it if I can find my receipt. Before having this vacuum I had always had a Dyson, but did not want to spend the money as we plan to replace all this carpet with hardwood in 6 months or so. I have no idea what I am going to replace it with. Attached are photos of the fur and carpet lint I "raked up" by just running my foot along the floor AFTER vacuuming it. (to be noted I was using it correctly and had selected the "floor" feature and not the hand suction. My husband thought I just had to be using it wrong) 8\

                Hi Nycti, thank you for reviewing the Hoover WindTunnel 3 Max Performance Pet Upright Vacuum. Here are some helpful tips to improve the suction: check to see if the filter or nozzle is clogged. Turn off the unit and disconnect the nozzle to remove the debris. Also check the hose for any built up debris, and use the handle of a broom to remove. We also recommend checking the filter by removing it from your vacuum and tapping out any built up dirt/debris that could be resting on it. Rinse the filter with water until the water runs clear and allow a dry time of 24-36 hours. We hope this improves your suction!
