Bought this for use in a room for crown molding. Beautiful detail but takes stain horrible. I pre conditioned the wood before and came out terrible. Some places wouldn't even take stain.

House of Fara 3/4 in. x 4-1/2 in. Wood Embossed Crown Moulding, Natural was purchased to add a decorative base to a unique stand we were refinishing-repurposing. We stained it with BEHR 1 qt. #TIS-356 Classic Oak Satin Semi-Transparent Water-Based Interior Stain and Poly in One. We love our "new" stand.

We used this beautiful molding for our kitchen cabinets as Crown Moldings, and it worked out really well. We just took one drawer from the cabinet to match the stain, and it looks as if the cabinets came with this molding. It changed the entire look of the kitchen cabinets for much better! It looks elegant! It's not fair to give one star to this product, just because the other reviewer could not find the right angle to cut it right away. If you're having a problem to find the right angle, you could use a smaller piece to find the right angle, or better yet use a protractor to measure the right angle instead of giving one star for it. We give 5 Stars, and we won't hesitate to use it again for other kitchens. It is more beautiful, and much cheaper than the actual kitchen cabinet moldings that Home Depot provides. It is ironic because this molding is described as a ceiling molding, but it worked great on our kitchen cabinets. First, we installed 2x4 pieces on top of the cabinets, then used nail glue and nails to install the moldings. It worked out very well. What was too bad, was that only one store was carrying it. We had to buy an additional piece, and only one store had it available. Great value for the money! We are very happy! We hope that other Home Depot stores will carry this molding in their stores. We included work-in-progress photos.

This worked well for what I bought it for the only thing I didn't like is how it doesn't cut smoothly. You'll have a bunch off flaky pieces come off as you cut the molding.

Almost would give it 5 stars. great price for what you get. Was planning to do a three piece build up crown molding, but then saw this product. So the slight drawbacks were that a couple of pieces were slightly narrower, which means you need to be very careful in planning which pieces go where. Color also varied from piece to piece. So select your boards carefully at the store. I had to buy out all the stock to get the amount I needed so I didn't have the luxury of selecting all matching pieces.

Personally I used it to make a picture frame. But it is easy to work with for cutting and painting/staining and the carving is beautiful on it. It looks very nice.

Great quality

The embossed crown is a excellent product, good design on it. However, make sure you know specifically the angle cuts - this can be a torchure if you don’t know the degrees to cut. A miter saw is great to use in this situation.

I bought this molding to make a picture frame with 8 sides. I had this molding for a while (probably about 8 months) because I cannot seem to catch up on all my projects in a timely manor. This moulding cuts really nice with a sharp blade and the detailing is great. I wanted some more of this moulding and went back to the same store and bought some more. None of the wood was darker or lighter than the old batch and the angles and dimensions were all perfect and exactly like the old batch. One of the other reviews gave it a 1 star. I don't think he is fair on the 1 star rating he gave nor the was he correct with the moulding's angles. The real angles for this molding is 50/40 (not 52/38) and if he used his naked eye, he could see this moulding is not 45 degrees. This crown moulding is not Labeled as 52/38 so I made my first couple cuts wrong. I realized it was not a 45 degree angle after I ate through 2- 10 foot lengths. Had it been labeled correctly I would have been fine. I did some looking and found out its not even in the specifications. So buyer beware. THIS IS NOT A 45 DEGREE CROWN MOULDING IT IS A 52/38. Really whish it would have been labeled that before I lost that much money on bad cuts.
