This product is a thread sealer used for water, air, hydraulics or just about anything made with black pipe. The sealer is brushed on around the threads of the pipe and then screwed into the female fitting. I like this for larger diameter pipe or pipe in a hard position to get teflon tape on. It goes on easily and stays where you put it. A must have if you do much with pipe.

This Real Tuff thread sealant is great in my opinion. The applicator works fine but I still end up using my finger to apply the sealant to threads. This product has proven to be a superior thread sealant. This product can be used on all metals and on PVC. I have not noticed any issues or leaks of any kind on any of the pipe threads I have used this product on.

This thread sealant worked great for my air compressor lines. I applied it to the fittings liberally before tightening them and there are no leaks! The built in brush is really nice and made it easy to apply it to the threads. My air compressor only goes up to 135 PSI so I can't attest to anything more than that, but it worked perfectly up to that and seems to work better that PTFE tape.

I am no expert on thread seal but have been a do-it yourselfer for decades and done many projects using “pipe dope”. For the do-it yourselfer, it is becoming less necessary in the era of pex, pvc, and home flex fuel lines. The “real tuff” seems to work real well. Although it appears to be a little granular, it applies smoothly with built in brush. I used for some hydraulic repairs on our mini-excavator and it’s doing the job thus far, it worked as described during application.

I myself am a big fan of using pipe dope over sealing tapes. This new "Real Tuff" product has proven itself to me in all my applications of use. This product will apply to all metals and even glass! It contains no lead and safe for water lines and wipes clean. Instead of get this or that pipe thread sealer; this product covers from ABS to a long variety of materials. 4 oz. Real Tuff Thread Sealant This stuff works great! It comes with a brush attached to the bottom of the lid. This sealant has a very thick but creamy texture it brushes on very easily. It's seals very well. No strong odor when using it. This stuff works on just about every type of piping however, clean up is a bit messy so be sure to only put it where you want it. Be sure to read all the instructions before using it. I'm impressed with this sealant and will recommend it.

I am not sure what the application for this product is but it certainly was not sealing a threaded plastic tube. Even after stirring for quite some time it remained lumpy and grainy. (I was expecting something more the consistency of PTFE paste) the inconsistency made it hard to apply smoothly. That all would have been fine if it had actually worked but the tubing leaked around the threads as badly afterwards as before. A waste of $8
