It looks like a reasonable unit, but box contained no instructions for mounting. Unit pictured on the Home Depot website showed a cord attached, yet there was no cord supplied with the unit. I have installed but not used this fan. Waiting to go get a cord, and then figure out how to wire it because - no instructions in box.

Our backyard shed has two small vents on the top, but was getting extremely hot in the afternoon. Hooked this vent up to help circulate the are throughout and works great! We have it in a timer so it only runs for a few hours a day, but makes it much more bearable.

I am screening my back porch and bought this fan to help remove smoke from my pellet grill. It does an excellent job. I like that it is easy to mount and not loud like some fans can be. This fan more than meets my expectations and will purchase again for my chicken coop.

Solid construction and well built

Very good product that is easy to install. I did need to remove the louvers for my particular installation and use an additional bracket but it wasn't anything that was hard to accomplish. The power is good for my garage and with exhaust fans, I always go larger than recommended so I can be fully satisfied.

I'm using this fan in a 1000 sf unfinished attic with an unvented roof. It can get easily get to 110F in the summer in this storage space. The gable vents really aren't enough so I installed this $255 hessaire fan. Its heavy duty aluminum louvers and frame with a heavy motor. Moves a lot of air. Maybe more than i need!

Easy to install. Happy with it so far. Does make some noise, when in operation, but hey, it’s an exhaust fan. Well worth it.

I bought this for my generator shed. It works perfectly. It came with a plug that I plug directly into the generator. When the generator goes on the fan turns on automatically. I didn't have to buy a separate plug.

Bought 4 of these to move air through our stagnet shop. They move alot of air and made a huge difference. Noise level is what you would expect from a 36" fan.

Bought this to use in my basement window while woodworking or running my laser etcher. It's a bit pricey for a fan but it's sturdy, the variable speed is great, and pulls a decent amount of air.

the product is very easy to install and works well. It has dropped the temperature of my shop by at least 30 degrees since I installed it with a thermostat. Its quiet and moves a lot of air.

I installed this from the outside of a CMU block wall. I had to cut a larger opening than 12.5'x12.5' because the fan cage is wider than 12.5' diameter. More like 13.5'x13.5' opening. Also, the fan speeds do not seem to do anything. All three speeds are about the same. That did not matter to me, the fan is working as I need it to, and I am only using the "high" speed. The only bummer was having to redo the opening, as I had already prepped the opening before the fan arrived based on my deadline and the install specs listed on this web site. The specs should indicate front or back mounting opening size. The fan is solid construction, and was simple to install. Note: It is very important to have a secondary free-air vent of the same or larger size to allow this fan to draw the heat from the space. This thing moves the air as desired and is reasonably quiet.

The fan was mounted on an exterior wall above our barbecue to exhaust fumes from the patio. The patio has a low ceiling resulting in a thick cloud of smoke in a small area prior to installing the fan. Now, even with a west wind blowing against the fan, we can enjoy smoke free outdoor cooking. The fan has an understandable noise while running which is an acceptable alternative.

This fan was easy to modify by putting a screen between the fan and the louvers. Keeping insects out is important to me. The fans are barely audible on the outside of my garage and inside the sound is louder since there is another fan on each end of the garage. Installation was easy requiring few tools and extra parts such as nuts and bolts. It helps keep my garage cooler on the hot days of summer.

Installed in storage shed with no problem, had a thermostat and wired to fan, working in keeping storage shed cool,great exhaust fan ! Fan was delivered with no damage and on time,emailed with delivery date. Fan works just like it was described ! Has been working for farewell weeks now with no problems !

In my generator building, this fan was more than adequate to properly ventilate the space and help maintain a cooler environment for the generator and equipment.

Seems to work very well. I've had it installed for about two weeks now and all is well. I use it in the garage mounted to a piece of plywood and screwed into the window molding. I have heat in the garage to watch TV and smoke cigars with friends. This does a great job even on the low speed of pulling the air out. Even on high speed you are still able to hear the TV. Looked at other fans that you either needed to add a variable control or were quite a bit more. Cant comment on longevity yet, havent had it long enough. Good value for the dollar if it lasts a few years.

I installed this attic exhaust fan after the solar-powered one dies after two years. I cannot get into my second floor attic, so I installed from the outside and ran an extension cord to an exterior digital timer lugged into an exterior 120V outlet. The fan seems to run very well. I purchased the 3-speed fan, and set it to low. I set the timer to turn on at 9:00am and off at 9:00pm; in Florida, so the fan will run 365 days/year. I hope this fan motor lasts a lot longer than two years.

The fan easy moves as Michigan air as it says. The noise level is acceptable to. There is some light coming in around the shutters. Time will tell if it lets in mosquitoes when the fan isn't running. The packaging kept the fan secure in shipping.

Advertised as a product "Made in USA", but it is made in China. I was to return it, but decided to give it a try. This is a Hessaire 16" variable speed exhaust fan that seems to be well made with good materials, and fairly quiet. Hopefully, the motor will last at least three years.

Overall quiet fan, 3 speeds are nice.

Waited for weather to cool off and just install this fan, needed to vent crawlspace area and added a moisture sensor. One problem with fan was the vanes, if you look at the photos at the web page, you see a center rod that opens up all the vanes. Theres also a rod inside that rod that had slip down stopping the vanes from opening all the way. I was able to slide my one hand in and push the rod back up and then was able to open the vanes all the way. I then pinch the outside of the main rod stopping the inner rod from sliding down!

Exactly what I needed to vent the hot air from my garage. Short on available space, I really had to shoehorn this into unit into a far corner of my garage, but it fit perfectly. I framed the outside with rough hewn wood to match my house trim, and painted to match. Tied to a thermostat controller, it took a few hot days to calibrate correctly, but it works perfectly and does the job. One note, in order to make it operate correctly, I needed to install a 1.2sq ft metal vent in the rear garage door to serve as a cool air intake. Works great! Problem solved.

Nice air flow but super lite weight construction, how it holds up.

Very quiet so far for the amount of air it moves. Purchased 2 and Turned my basement into a cigar lounge. So far no complaints from the wife. Haven't had them long enough to give 5 stars.
