Customer Reviews for Husky 1/2 in. Drive 18 mm 6-Point Deep Impact Socket

I love the matte black finish on these sockets for two reasons. The first is it’s easy to read the numbers because of the 6mm white letters against black. Secondly the fact that the matte finish is better to grip when your hand gets slippery. The size #'s are stamped into the metal deeply so they won’t wear off, I think it would have been nice if they had the #’s on two sides though. There is also a red 2mm deep indented ring all the way around the base of the socket to help with those times the socket gets stuck, giving you that extra grip when you need it. There are 2, 6mm holes drilled at the base to help with getting a stuck ratchet or breaker bar off. BTW I used a screwdriver to push in the hole to release the hanging plastic display tag (impossible to just pull off!). The square & socket holes have the corners drilled out for a space for dirt & grease to go as well as keeping the corners from rounding off. The sockets fit snug on my M18 impact wrench with no wobble at all. Overall this is a very well thought out & manufactured tool at a reasonable price point that for most of us folks will last a lifetime if not two! Way to go Milwaukee! Very good quality product . Last long time . Easy to use . I mostly use it to change my tires . I'm extremely happy couldn't ask for a better quality product. I love it !!!!!!

Needed for one specific application - to remove fork caps on a motorcycle. Needed a deep and six sided socket to fit and ensure the soft aluminum would not be damaged.MrHuron

This was exactly what I needed. The throat on another deep socket was a little too shallow, but this one worked. I bought it to use with my tool for removing/installing BMW ball joints, and it fits into the tool case, nested between two of the cups. I’ve used it 6 times with no problems, so I’m happy with the purchase!

Must have tools did the job right

I wish this deep well socket was in Husky’s tool boxes!
