Kapp, 85 Ft./Lbs. is way outside the operating range for this tool. 85 Ft.lbs. is 5 times the limit of this tool at 200 Inch/Pounds. It is never recommended to use a torque wrench outside of its torque specifications. HuskyMHT

    QC issues? - Not calibrated
It say calibrated, but I have my doubts. The case was nice, but I wouldn't trust this thing. The 0 should line up on the 70 or 90, or every 20 FtLbs. It lands in the middle of them, not even close to either mark.

Rhs, each one of our torque wrenches is factory calibrated to ASEM standards. The scale on the body of the tool can be somewhat difficult to read, however, we do offer a video on the product page that reviews the operation of our torque wrenches and shows how to properly set it, and read the scale. I would encourage you to view this video and if you still believe you have a defective unit, please give us a call at 1-88-HD-Husky, option 2 for a warranty replacement. HuskyMHT

      Very nice torque wrench.
The torque values of 20-100 ft lbs are incorrect. Instead of 20-100 mine is 10-100.

          Don’t buy, Does no work.
This wrench makes for a better breaker bar than a torque wrench. Second time using it, set it to 4lbs. Was tightening my valve cover and it crack the cover. Massive piece of garbage, what was suppose to be an easy project has now escalated to a massive headache.

Eddy, Sorry to hear your frustration with this wrench. Please keep in mind this wrench is only calibrated to work within the upper 80% of the scale, which is 20 ft./lbs. to 100 ft./lbs. With all click style torque wrenches, the 'click' will be much less noticeable at the lower end of the scale. HuskyMHT

            Great Wrench but...
Why is the wrench in inch pounds but the directions are in foot pounds? Did they mean for the wrench to be in foot pounds? Would hsve been kich nicer.

It's been a LONG since I bought a new torque wrench. The first and last one I bought was a Craftsman one, probably about 40 years ago! It still works fine, but it only goes up to 90 ft-lbs. I needed one that can do at least 140 ft-lbs since I was replacing stuff on my Nissan LEAF: both wheel hubs, and A arm + steering knuckle on passenger side. The axle nut and A arm bolts call for 134 ft-lbs and 114 ft-lbs respectively. This Husky torque wrench works great! I love the spring loaded lock collar. It makes it difficult to accidentally change the torque setting. The thing is long and quite beefy. It definitely feels like it's up to demands put on it. Certainly, it worked like a charm for the axle nut.

Exactly what I needed for an auto repair project I did on my 1997 Suburban. However, being used to an older style torque wrench, I was used to a more pronounced torque "click", than this unit has. In comparison, its more of a subtle pressure change in my hand. If you want a quite pronounced "CLICK", this doesn't have it. However, it has the accuracy I needed, and I quickly adapted to the "click" type this unit delivers. Its a great tool for occasional use to be sure. I used it on the bolts for the rear main oil seal housing, and the side bolts on the oil pan. The oil pan corner bolts called for torque beyond this wrenches capability.

              Great Torque Wrench
In today's world of Alloy wheels and disc brakes on every thing we drive, to work or play, it is imperative to have a good torque wrench to install the wheels as to not do distortion to either ! The poly plastic/rubber handle is comfortable and non-slip. The slip ring to adjust, is easy to reach and the scale is easy to read ! The certification sheet, 3 stage test done 3 times is nice to have ! The storage box is great but, the blister packaging is tough to get into !! I highly recommend this Husky tool !!

The torque wrench is easy to use, adjusting the torque setting is also easy to set, though am not a fan of the locking ring to keep the setting, guess it's attributed to my other wrench that had the same thing and broke (doesn't lock the setting), am hoping that this won't be the case with this wrench. But it does the job that it was supposed to do... secure my tire lugs when rotating the tires on all my vehicles, for that I am truly happy with my purchase.

Good for lug nuts; bad for other
This torque wrench is definitely cost effective, and a good choice if all you want to do is make sure your wheel stud nuts are tightened to the appropriate specs. But if using in lower torque settings, this tool is unreliable. I used it once for tightening my brake caliper bolt (44 ft/lbs) and it broke the head off the bolt (body left inside guide pin). Granted, I had to use a 1/2”-3/8” adapter for this; but the required torque is unchanged in a straight adapter, meaning the wrench was at fault.

                Not ideal for Nm use…
This is nicer than my torque wrench from Europe. The drawback is that it’s indexed for ft. lbs (US) and not Nm. The adjustment uses zero values for US units (40, 50, 60, etc.) but while it has an index for Nm, it’s fractional. So, if you need to set it for 60 or 100 Nm, it’s more of a hassle than getting a torque wrench initially indexed for Nm.

Excellent quality for a reasonably priced torque wrench. The torque scale is etched into the handle so you don't have to worry about it wearing away over time as with a painted scale. I especially like the fact that the torque scales are in lb-ft and Nm, which is very useful for metric and SAE applications.
