Fits Beautifully
Easy to install...the most time consuming part was adjusting the slider wheel on the patio door. Don't forget this step. I had an uneven gap between the pet door and the slider. Simply use a screw driver to adjust the slider door to tighten that gap. Very nice door for the price. I'm on the second floor with a screened lanai so I didn't install the locking mechanism. I'm a 60yr old woman and within an hour I had it installed with weather strip and door gap strip complete. Super happy.

Was easy to install and my dog loves it! He is a puppy mastiff now and is able to use it despite the fact that he is small now. Saved me from having to buy 2 dog doors. Can't wait to see him using it when he's big!

This door fit into my Arcadia door perfectly. It is a good tight fit with no air leaks. I still have plenty of room to get out through the regular door. My dog fits through the small door perfectly and I don't have to worry about coyotes coming in. I felt the price was good and the construction of the door is sturdy. I am very happy with this dog door.

Good Value. We had to make a few modifications to optimise the Pet Door. We added an in Track Lock, rather than use the old "Stick in the Track" trick, and we used some of the packing cardboard to fill the gap in the depth of the frame, as I think this door is built for a single pane door and we have a Dual Pane door, using a deeper track. All in all. good product for the price.

Easy to set up, I had it installed in about 5 mins. I have 2 dogs 50lb and 20 lb they both run through this with no problem. Nice to have so I don't have to wonder if my dogs need to go outside to do their business.

Worked great and was easy to install. Cat uses it well, and my home is adequately insulated. Security-wise it could probably be better and will require some handy-work if you need to make it very secure. I used the recommended securing method (drilling 2 screws at the top and bottom of the frame) but I think the frame would go without too much force. In my case however it's on the 2nd floor balcony with no ground access so I'm not too worried.

    Larger Doggie Door
This is a really nice door, the problem is the instructions. They really don't tell you much, but you can watch a video online to see how to install it, which in my opinion is stupid. It seems to be strong, I have a very overweight Choc lab that gets in and out easily. Weighs about 120 # and she has no problem also a maltipoo which is a small dog and she can also go in and out without trouble. The door looks great on the slider, I have a shorter slider ( older home) so adjustments had to be made to fit ( that is removing a few screws and shortening it, no cutting as it is adjustable. I also had to adjust the opening to be lower because of my small dog ) Then had to get a bar to secure the door so it can't be opened, when it is closed. The weather stripping they provide is ok but not the best. They sure didn't give you any extra for screw-ups. The panel that lifts in and out to close the doggie door works nicely and is very easy to use. All in all I am quite impressed with the fit, and how nicely it looks. When it arrived the box was all beat up fearing it would be damaged but it was perfect. I would highly recommend this door for larger dogs, except for instructions it was a breeze. It was very easy to install. Very much worth the money!

    VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!!
This product is great! It was easy to install, looks good, works well, and was an excellent value! I have a chihuahua mix and she stays in my bedroom during the day. She won't use pads, so I have had to leave the sliding glass door cracked open for her to get out during the day (I had a large dowel to block the door from opening wider). Of course bugs, vermin, dirt, leaves, dust, the cold, etc came through the open door. I researched online and found this Ideal Pet door insert, and went to my local Home Depot and was surprised to find it in stock! I bought it right away, came home and installed like the videos say, and in a few minutes, installation was complete, and it only took me another 5 minutes to train my dog to use the doggie door by throwing a ball out of it. I'm very happy with this product.

      Great door for large dogs
I was able to install this door myself, which is a big deal because I'm not strong, tall or a do-it-yourself kind of gal. My large dogs can get in and out fine, but I can see that a dog with short legs would have to jump to get over the bottom portion, which is about 8 inches high.

      Largest door we could find.
The door is very large, which is what we needed for our aging Bullmastiff. The door is higher than the last door, but she adjusted within a week and no longer bangs her feet or knees on the door and doesn't have to contort her back as with the smaller doors. It is also much quieter than our previous (petsafe) door, but the window part of the door does seem a little more flimsy. But it does the job that we intended for it. I wish they would make a way for these doors to function with sliding door locks. Be aware that the large size of the door does diminish the space that your existing door is allowed to open. My husband and I are slim so it is not a big problem, but my mother is a bit larger and can barely squeeze through the opening. I would make sure to measure your opening first to ensure that is not an issue. We had this product shipped to us and and had no damage upon arrival.

Minor adjustments, but easy to install and uninstall and it fits just fine
I bought this door primarily for when we would be gone for long periods (12+ hours for our daughter's away sporting events mostly), so that we didn't need to send our dog to the kennel or bother a neighbor to come let him out. I wanted something that I could install quickly and easily before we left and then uninstall quickly and easily when we returned. This door is exactly what I needed. It is solidly built. I had to cut a little off the adjustable section in order to make it short enough to slide over the lip of the door frame, but it is designed with that necessity in mind. Otherwise it fits in the door track just fine. Since I am installing and uninstalling fairly frequently I have not used the weather stripping, but the door fits fairly snuggly even without it. It does take up most of the door opening so the door is unusable for a person while it is installed, but, again, it is easy to remove. I'm even leaving it in while I'm home so the dog can go out whenever he wants without needing me to open the door for him.

      Perfect for my needs!
Perfect for my toy poodles. Needed a little extra weather stripping. Also, the rise was about 4”, a little high for my pups to step over but the rise is just a piece of aluminum screwed into the sides. If you’re handy, you can do what I did which was unscrew/remove the dog door flap holder, move the "rise"" piece up and put the door flap holder back on, just below the "rise" piece, which now gives the door a rise of an inch. I did have to cut the rise a little to make the door flush. Door is a great convenience for me. Well worth it. I've had this door one week but had a similar door for 15 yrs, just needed a bit wider door for the new pup....

Easy to Install and Fits Great
It was very easy to put in my door. I have a sliding glass door plus a sliding screen door. I was able to put in the pet door and still use both my sliding screen door and my sliding glass door. The screen door slides just past the pet door end so it doesn't block the pet door. When I need I can close the glass door. The gaps are pretty small between the pet door and the screen door. I like the aluminum color better then white (which I had at another house). I do wish they provided black.

      Works great!
Each cat reacted differently to the door, but they all eventually figured it out and it has made life so much easier. The weather stripping included might not be quite enough and the flap gets scratched up and clouded, but those are minor quibbles.

      Works great, but wrong color.
The patio pet door is a great product. But I was very disappointed to see the Bronze color discontinued. So, now I have an aluminum (silver color) panel in my brown (bronze color) door, not pretty. Ok, cosmetically ugly, but works great. Only took a week to teach an 8yr old dog to use it.

NOT A GOOD BUY FOR LARGE PUPPIES
I have a 18mo German Shepherd, 8mo Black Lab, and 6yo Bichon Frise. They all use the door, but it is not durable. Within the first week, the plastic bottom came off. The puppies like to play chase. They slow down when they get to the door, but they are pretty rough. The Black Lab, decided to come in and the hard cover was on. He just lined himself up and plowed through. They plastic hard cover just popped off. So, it is not secure. The installation was easy, but it is drafty around the insert and at the bottom where the plastic piece is missing. My bro-in-law is an engineer. He recommended putting weather stripping around the entire lining of the insert where it meets the frame of the house. It is a convenient product. I am no longer jumping up and down to let the doggies out.

      PROS AND CONS
Overall (with a minor adjustment) we are very pleased with this product. Ease of installment was great, looks great, functions great. I like that they included a security clamp which was also easy to install. On all of those, I give it a five. Though we jury-rigged a remedy, the down-side is that the flap is not very weather worthy. If there is a breeze, it moves and the spaces on the side of the flap allow cold air in. They don't have a weather proof replacement flap for extra large dogs. We sort of remedied that by using the 1" wide weather strip that is included with the door. I'll describe what we did below for anyone who wants the info. That cut down on about 50% of the heat loss and it hasn't been flapping in the breeze. Overall, we are so pleased with this product. Weatherizing idea: The kit comes with two pieces of plastic weather stripping about six feet long. Cut the weather stripping into four even pieces. Then cut those pieces to the length of the flap opening (ours was 19"). You have to leave about 1/2" space at the bottom for the flap to move freely. The weather stripping is about 1.5 inches wide. From the sticky side, measure 3/4" and cut off the rest of the flap (reserve this extra). To do one side of the door, take the two strips and lay them next to each other with the tape sides in the center. (So, side by side, one has the tape side on the left and one on the right). Take the tape off of one piece and place it on the non-sticky side of the other, directly over the other taped side. (essentially, you are making it double thickness right over the part where the tape is). What this does is make it thicker in the center with an extra flap off to each side. The combined pieces should be about 1.5" wide. Attach this to the side of the flap opening with the taped part in the center (right where the flap rests). There is a magnet bar at the bottom that wouldn't lift right with this addition. We used the extra from the initial cut. You will need four pieces: Cut off a piece about 1.5" long and 1/4 inch thick. Fold this in thirds and put it under the bar. Do this three more times, staggering the pieces, two in front and two in back. It raises it up enough to stick every time. I included pictures below.

      easy to install
I have a tripod and the large opening gives him plenty of room to get in and out, also I live in an apartment and simple to put up and take down. only problem flap opens in high wind and it is wide but that is understandable because it is a large opening

Easy to Install, Works Exactly Like You'd Think!
So we have a great dane who is 130 lbs and quite tall, and this door works perfectly for her. She fits through it (the height is the reason we bought it, not the width) great and she doesn't have to arch her back. Installation is easy, and can go 1 of 2 ways. Either install it in the opening that you already use or slide the non-opening side over and install it on that side. Pros/cons to each side- side you already open allows you to not have to move your glass doors around (which is easy but frustrating if you've never done it). the downfall is you can't lock the slider if you install this way (easy solution, by a dowel pole and cut it to fit in the frame) -side you dont open allows you to lock your door, but installation can take a little longer due to having to move the second panel over (as mentioned before it can be frustrating if you've never done it). The only downfall to this door (which should be expected when you purchase something like this) is that you are losing that much space in the "human" doorway. So the opening in which we pass into our backyard is a little over a foot wide now, we simply turn sideways to pass through the door or use the other slider. Some people might not like the idea of having a tighter space to move through, but we decided it was the lesser of two evils. The other evil being cutting a giant hole in our wall and putting a door in that way.... not happening. Note- we don't lock our dog in/outside while we're out of the house. We prefer her to have the freedom to choose where she wants to hang out- so this was our solution. Overall we are satisfied with this door and would recommend it to people who are looking for a similar solution.
