Disappointed. Cover sticks out 2 inches from wall. Poor seal around cover. Concerned about moisture getting into the wall. Looks tacky

This door is chihuaha and husky approved. Makes life easier. No more having to leave the door open and be invaded by bugs. We can now leave the ac on. A lock would be the only thing that would make this product better

Installation through stucco between studs. No header needed. Was a pain to drill all the holes straight through drywall/stud/stucco but you can make it work with a larger drill bit. Seals up good and straight. Used for old English sheepdog

This was perfect for our dogs!!!! It looks great in our house! Definitely would recommend!!! We did hire someone to put it in . Not sure how easy it would have been to do ourselves.

Very satisfied with this door we installed on an interior wall so our cat can go into the garage. Installation was fairly easy and it looks good.

We needed a dog door that would work with a 6" wall. This did the trick. Easy to install and the dog has no problems with it.

Easy and quick to install

Purchased for my new house build. I didn't install myself, had contractor install. Great product. Use it for my three cats. It took a few times before they were comfortable with the two flaps, but the flaps being clear was a must in my purchasing decision. Cats like to see before exiting or entering through the flaps, very cautious so it works great for them. The sliding door to close off completely is easy to use and helps to seal off during storms. I leave open most of the time and is covered by wrap-around-porch but it does a good job keeping out the cold and side ways rain with and without sliding solid door.

Great dog door, very sturdy.

I did love the construction and sturdiness of this product. My contractor installed it just above my crown molding. I would give this 5 stars, if there were some added texture or foam at the base. When my dog uses the dog door, he has a hard time getting through, due to the slippery plastic base.

Easy install once you get past the fear of cutting open your own home. I am impressed at how quick it went in.

Was very easy to install except the screws didn't fit. Came with two sizes and one was too small and the other too large for our wall. Was able to cut them down and works great. Would highly recommend. Couldn't be happier.

Basiclly, I have 2 Wiener dogs. I went with the “medium dog” door and feel like that was a good choice for this breed. Pictured is a good hint for installation into lap siding. Mark and cut the outside line of template to get down to your sheathing. (I used multi tool for lines and razor blade for corners) Then slap the templatdirectionse directly onto the wall sheathing and proceed according to supplied for wall mount unit.

This doggie door was easy to install and we only had to add silicon caulking around the outside to be sure it didn’t have any leaking issues down the road. It definitely is meeting my expectations!

Fit was perfect. Install easy. I’m not a handy man, but I completed the task rather quickly.

Install was pretty easy. We ordered the complete wall kit and it came with everything we needed. We are regular diyers so we had all the tools required. The instructions were very simple to follow. We also looked to a youtube tutorial from the ideal pet page to help clarify any questions we had.. all in all it has been a success and we have 2 happy boys enjoying it daily!

The through the wall dog door was what we needed for our German Shepherd pup to grow into. The product is durable plastic with two clear plastic flaps which have magnetic strips along the bottom edge of both interior and exterior flaps. The magnetic contacts need to have a stronger attraction to their metallic counterpart since the wind will occasionally open both flaps even though the door is positioned on the east facing wall. Prevailing winds in this area are north in the winter and south in the summer and that's why I chose installation on the east wall. In the spring I plan to build a dog house type enclosure on the exterior portion of the dog door which will provide additional resistance to wind infiltration with the addition of a single flap dog door opening into the yard.

if seems to fit the area we have set aside for this install. I still need to go back and put in the spacers for the inside once they install the drywall inside. Looks as though it is going to be a very nice door.

The instructions were easy to follow and everything was easy to assemble. My dog loves her new doggie door.

This is an excellent doggie door! Installation was a little trickier than anticipated, but worth the effort. We bought the door because our previous one was too small for one of our dogs. Her knees scraped the bottom of it as she climbed through it which caused or exasperated a serious knee problem. Now, she walks through easily and with no scraping. Big improvement! I love that the panels are clear; they let in light and allow our dogs to see where they're going before they get there. Also love that the panels are quiet. Our previous door was quite noisy when the panels smacked against each other as the dogs went through. With this one, we only hear a short, soft tapping sound.

This unit assembled between two studs just perfectly to the wall with a very clean look. It is also proving to be well insulated and with the double flaps I don't feel any outside air getting into our home! Our two dogs seem to love it as well, have no problems using the door at all. Its been installed now for going on 3 weeks and so far so good couldn't be happier with it!

Great door, keeps weather out, lets dogs see through door. Wall kit that came with it needs minor customization with screws size depending on wall width.

Love this Ruff Weather door. I did a through the wall install which requires the wall install kit which is just the tunnel part that goes between the inside and outside halves. If you do a door install you don't need the wall kit and install is easier. Double flaps keep cold air out and my dog quickly got use to using the double flap (we had a sliding door dog door with one flap that let cold air and bugs in very easy) The Ruff Weather double flap is the way to go, best one out there. I did install myself and it was pretty straight forward, good instructions. I had to cut through our new vinyl siding but it can easily be repaired if we decide to remove the door someday. Pics attached.

We have had this dog door since we moved into our newly built house in 2004. It has held up well. I am just now getting ready to replace the flaps and believe me, with 3 rescue dogs, it gets loads of use daily. I would recommend this product highly.

I have two large dogs, a chocolate lab (stocky, about 85 lbs) and a bloodhound (tall, about 85lbs). Initially, I had bought the "extra large" door but exchanged it for this one, the "super large." So glad I did. Each dog fits through the door perfectly with a bit of wiggle room in case there's some weight gain and/or they are sprinting through the door. A carpenter installed the door on my paneled door and it turned out great. If you install on paneled door, just be sure that the frame sits beyond the panels. That way, when it's completely installed, there are no gaps that need to be filled. (see pic) Because it has double flaps, it keeps out the heat/cold as much as possible. I've only had this door for a couple of months, so I can't speak to much to it's durability, but so far no issues. It's installed in my laundry room, so I don't worry about how it looks aesthetically. However, it does allow a lot of natural light to enter, so that I do like.
