My unit failed after 3 years. The faucets are very low quality and cant be serviced, the whole fancy thing must be replaced at a cost of several hundred dollars

This InSinkErator replaces an earlier model that began to sputter and eventually leak. This new instant hot dispenser seems to work well and produces hot water instantly, as it should. I’ve only had it for about six weeks so it is too early to give it rave reviews. I can’t comment on the ease of installation since I had a plumber install it.

We replaced a Hot1 that had died. The main issue is that it requires a bigger hole for the faucet. I had to spend about a half hour with a drill and a grinding stone enlarging the hole in a granite counter top. Otherwise, the installation was fairly smooth. The faucet quality is much better, and the valve is regulating cold water into the tank rather than hot water out. This should make it last a lot longer. I would like to see more insulation in the jacket. It lets a lot of heat out under the counter. Overall it is a definite improvement from a Hot1.

I have reservations about recommending this product. READ the dimensions of EVERYTHING before you purchase to make certain the faucet FITS the granite hole in your countertop. This product is NOT A STANDARD SIZE to fit standard holes drilled by granite installers! It is off by a FRACTION of an inch! Remove the faucet from the packaging and check to see if it fits BEFORE you go to the hassle of installing the tank! You have to have a creative plumber or else have a granite installer come back and adjust the hole in your countertop if you have a standard size hole. We replaced the hot water dispenser faucet in the past and never ran into any problems with a different brand. Also, the finish of Satin Nickel is different from the Satin Nickel of our Sink Faucet and Soap Dispenser, so it doesn't quite match. Again, we have replaced the faucet portion of our hot water dispenser in the past and had a perfect match with a different brand.

This is the 3rd Insinkerator hot water maker we have had in about 40 years. This is the best one so far. Very attractive design with an easy to use handle vs. the old twist type knob. Heats the water very fast. The installation has been made very easy with the sna-on connectors. We are very pleased with this unit.

This hot water dispenser works great and looks beautiful in our kitchen. I highly recommend it!

Relatively easy to install... had one for years and just replaced it because the unit started leaking... use it all the time

All the parts were included and I purchased the installation service from Home Depot. It works as advertised.

It was much better than the old one. Much better pressure.

Style matches my other sink hardware exactly, works perfectly. Replaced another brand/model that lasted 15 years: am hoping this model can meet or exceed that lifespan!

Replaced old shorted unit with no problems. Working as expected.

We purchased this model to replace a previous model that stopped working. This is the third one we purchased in seven years. The first lasted four years and the second only three. We are hoping this model will last longer.The two previous models had a copper thank which corroded. This model is all stainless steel.We have had this model for five months.The hot water comes out instantly and so far so good.

Installed easily. Rather than keep the water very hot it allows it to cool off a bit then the heater goes to full power for a couple of minutes to boost the temp. Over a weekend while i was away i found it averages 25W of wasted power if no water is dispensed. It works well for making tea

The tank was replaced 2 times, the faucet started leaking caused the third tank to short, had to replace the whole unit, all in all a very inferior product. My old insinkerator installed in 1987, lasted me for 25 years, it was still working when I changed it, when I remodeled the kitchen.

FIRST ONE I'VE HAD AND LOVE IT. STILL OCCASIONALLY MAKE A POT OF TEA, BUT THIS IS GREAT OPTION.

I am happy with this product and love the convenience of having a hot water boiler/dispenser in my sink. This is a replacement product with a lower arch and shorter neck. It also lacks the swivel feature of my previous one.

Great product and cannot imagine life without one of these. Our second unit....sadly the first one only lasted 8-1/2 years....which is pretty good all and all.

This is our third Insinkerator, and we've bought two systems for our children as well. Once you have one, you never want to be without one.

This has been a great addition to our kitchen. The kettle is gone and instant hot water is there. Highly recommended.

This was my 2nd one in 2 different places. I did a kitchen Reno and HAD to have this! I use it everyday w/making my tea.

You can't actually set the temperature of the water as high as 210 degrees F. You're lucky if you get 200. The default setting from the factory is actually 185 deg. F. (InSinkErator says this is 200 deg. F. -- nope, not correct). The factory setting (as noted in the manual) is when the temperature dial is set to the second dot from the right. You *can* get 200 deg F. if you set the knob to just a bit beyond the last dot. If you advance the knob a very small amount further (to the absolute limit of the range), the water starts to boil (steam starts sputtering out of the tap). There doesn't seem to be any reasonable possibility of setting the water temp any higher than 200 deg F. without the water boiling. Not sure if this is just a poor quality thermostat or some other issue. This is a big deal for people (like me) who like to make sure tea and coffee are brewed at the right temp. 205 deg. F is ideal for coffee and much better for black tea. 185 deg makes really bad coffee and black tea. I bought this unit expecting to be able to set the thermostat (accurately) to 205 deg. F. Note that I measured the water temp. coming out of the provided faucet via the following method: 1. Set the temp on the dial on the tank 2. Ran the water out of the provided faucet for 15 seconds 3. Waited 20 minutes 4. Ran the faucet for 5 seconds 5. Took a foam cup (the kind you'd use for coffee) and put a high quality glass thermometer into it. I then filled the cup up with hot water. I watched the temp increase and noted the point at which the temp stopped climbing. 6. Ran the faucet for 5 seconds 7. Dumped the hot water out of the foam cup. 8. Filled the foam cup with hot water and noted the point at which the temp stopped increasing. This second measurement was reliability higher by about 4 to 5 degrees.

We are repeat customers and users of the product. We had one in our previous home I NY and was a must have in our new home in Florida.

I love having hot water whenever I want it for soup, tea, sterilizing utensils, etc.

I bought this after our other one started rusting out at the bottom and leaking water. It had a dial on the top that you had to turn to dispense the water. This is so much better and easer than the previous one. Plastic at the bottom so it wont rust our. Water disperses much faster and so much easier with the handle. I use it everyday and love it!

This is about the third time we replaced this product over a period of about 10 years. Water going into the tank is filtered but the tank seems to fail repeatedly. We have a similar problem with the same product installed in a second home. My wife needs the instant hot water so we keep replacing it as needed. Either the product is inherently inferior or its planned obsolescence.

Our old 100 series went out after 5 years. This one is a lot quieter than the old model. We will see how many years this one lasts!!

We use it every day and truly enjoy it. It is great for the daily cup of tea.
