Q:1) how much energy does the insinkerator use per day / month with at average usage (i.e. maybe 1/2 gallon p day)? 2) When on vacation I would unplug the system, to stop energy drain. should I first empty the tank? can it mold if I let it sit full for 10 d

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi, Ferry. Thanks for your questions. The energy usage on the tank that is included with this model is 0.605 kWh/day. This was tested at a factory setting of 200 degrees F. If you live in a warm climate, there is no need to unplug, turn off, or drain the unit if you'll be gone for less than 3 weeks. If in a cold climate, but the household furnace is left on (above 35°F), then the same as above. Unplug, turn off, and drain the unit if there is a chance of it being exposed to less than 32°F. If you live in a cold climate and the household furnace is off or turned down (below 32°F), drain the unit and unplug it. Q:I have an older ISE instant hot water dispenser with the same 3 lines coming into it as the newer version. Can the three lines from the old unit be reused in the installation of the new unit so I can swap the heater and use the previous lines and faucet

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question, Mitch. If your old faucet has a plastic inlet tube with a colder fitting, it can be connected to our current tanks. This fitting is the snap connector that connects the inlet tube to the left inlet port on top of the tank. If your existing faucet doesn't have this connector, you can order the part through our parts depot, Carroll Parts (USA), at 800-654-3545 (carrollparts.com). It is part number 43103C, which is a kit that contains the Colder Fitting you need plus 2 screws for mounting a tank. However, if the old faucet has a copper inlet tube, it cannot be connected to newer tanks and will need to be replaced. Should you have other questions or need clarification, you can reach out to us via https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask.

Q:Does this product need a dedicated outlet.

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi, Emily. Thanks for your question. The hot water tank does not need to have a dedicated outlet. You just have to make sure that the socket on the outlet can carry 115 volts, stay on continuously, and accommodate the tank's 6.5 amperage. Intermittent Dripping
I may have a faulty unit. Every few hours it drips 4-6oz of water from the faucet. It’s as if the pressure inside the unit builds up and leaks by the valve/seal in the handle. Over the course of a day I’m wasting on average of 100oz of water.

Good day, Dave! We're glad you're reaching out to us. It must be inconvenient to have a leaky faucet. With what you've described, there may be an issue with the faucet's valve. Your faucet will need replacement. To further assist you, please contact us via https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask. Thank you!

Very straightforward install BUT know this...
I just installed this item and had to make an additional trip to the hardware store in order to buy 2 parts...Flex PEX tube and a 1/4 inch coupling. The install instructions makes note about where to mount the water heater but it doesn't make reference to the length of the copper tubing. I don't believe that i have an unusual install scenario but the coper tubing could definitely NOT connect to the T. I needed to buy some PEX 1/4 inch water line along with a push connector. I've also had some water spitting out of the spout...Insinkerator says that this is because the water is TOO hot... how is this possible if i am using the dial properly?

This instant hot water system works great. It was easy to install after we got the T-valve installed. We use the hot water for tea, ramen noodles, sanitizing our CPAP/toothbrushes and getting really hot water for dishes. Very pleased with this product after using it for a couple weeks.

Install was not exactly straight forward. Water temp can't be turned all the way up, It sputters and spits hot water and steam. I am enjoying it mostly. Have had it about a month, hopefully it doesn't start to leak.

Works Great, Looks Great. Installation was a breeze except for hooking it up to a supply line. I ended up making 2 trips to my home depot for parts, adapters etc... I even put in an inline 1/4 in. valve. This way I can shut off the water to the hot water tank without shutting without shutting off the water to the faucet.

I liked this product very much. It was easy to install. Just took minutes and we were and running. We like the handle to just push back. Old model with round knob was hard to turn with wet hands.
