two cracked kohler toilet seats
Two of these have cracked in past 5 years. average weight folks seems like it should last longer than a few years - not sure what other manufacturers there are for biscuit elongated toilet seat...

Poor attachment bolts & nuts
Poor design of the bolts and nuts for attaching the hinges to the toilet's porcelain rim. The nylon "nuts" strip their threads way too easily. Clever design that doesn't work: It looks like they were trying to make the nuts adapt to fit all sizes of holes in the porcelain. But it doesn't work. I wound up using nuts left over from the old seat (not Kohler).

The installation of this toilet seat’s Quick Install hardware must be followed carefully to ensure it is properly tightened. The installation instructions can be found by following this link: https://bit.ly/3K1Z1dy The cone shaped nut should be pushed up into the mounting hole in the bowl (from the underside). If the nut is not pushed into the hole, the split in the nut will expand during use and you may need to continue to tighten it. Poor attchment bolts
Poor attachment bolts for securing the seat to the toilet rim. They strip their threads in the supplied white plastic nuts. I wound up using a left over set of nuts from the old toilet seat.
The seat itself seems fine. Only time will tell if the slow close mechanism lasts.

The cone shaped nut should be pushed up into the mounting hole in the bowl (from the underside). If the nut is not pushed into the hole, the split in the nut will expand during use and you may need to continue to tighten it. If your nut or bolt is stripped, we are happy to provide you with a replacement set of hardware. We also have an alternate hardware package; we would be glad to send you either hardware kit. The seat cracked
The Cachet Eb seat Q3 is glued together and not a single part of the seat. The seat had cracked on me and pinched me with pain. They should fix this issue.

It hasn't lived up to our expectations
We bought this a few weeks ago. Installation was easy and the seat worked fine for a couple of weeks, then it started to slide off the base. No matter how tight we made the bolts, the seat slipped out. I have temporarily fixed it with some nylon binding tape to hold the pieces together that fit around the post on each side. Hoped that will work tho its not ideal.

The installation of this toilet seat’s Quick Install hardware must be followed carefully to ensure it is properly tightened. Install the seat by inserting the black mounting nuts and then the bolts. Set the seat in place and then push the cone-shaped nut over the bolt and press it into the hole from the underside. Hold the nut in place and use a screwdriver from the top to tighten the bolt. It cracked, yet I replace it with same
I installed this toilet seat from Kohler in March 2020. At the end of August 2022, the seat itself cracked all the way through. The rest still worked, but not with the broken seat. I bought another one here at the start of September, from Home Depot, hoping I am not a fool who will need to replace again in 2 years. I expected a far longer life for an essential item.

I previously bought a new seat/lid from a different maker...
I previously bought a new seat/lid from a different maker advertised as "hard wood with enamel finish" and with the slow close feature. 1, it wouldn't stay open and 2, it snapped in half because it was actually particleboard. However this Kohler seat/lid is plastic and has 4 feet instead of 2. It cannot break and works great.

Pain in the rear!
The slant from the outside edge of the ring to the inside is too steep. Sitting on it with a behind that hangs over the outer edge is, a pain in the rear.

The best toilet seat ever!
So I had no idea I had the wrong size toilet on the hole for years. Then I found the right size. I bought my toilet on line. I bought everything from Kohler including the elongated quite close seat. It is the best seat ever! So quite feels wonderful! I love it! Best seat buy it!
