Really liked the look and fit of this seat but it cracked on the first day. Have since discovered in a number of online reviews that this seems to be a common occurrence.

I bought the from Home Depot here in Jacksonville, FL (southside blvd location). It was the slow close (toilet seat) Kohler Elongated toilet seat . I noticed it was very tight (the plastic hinges when you closed the seat) when I first installed it. I figured that the cheap plastic hinge would snap off at some point in near future and it did just that. I had 2 of them (toilet seats) snap after just a few months. This was the slow close toilet seats. It is unbelievable to me that Kohler's quality control dept allows these to be made and sold. A waste of money. I want my money back from Kohler or Home Depot. Home Depot should also not be selling them until these are made better. I see a number of negative reviews with similar comments to mine regarding the same problem.

We installed 2 Kohler Valiant toilets in our house renovation. Both have the Cachet toilet seat, and one has cracked after less than 18 months. The soft-close feature is nice, but the quality is inferior.

I had to replace this toilet seat within 4 years because it cracked. Sent a complaint to Kohler and they reimbursed for the purchase. They stand behind their product and for that, gave them 5 stars. Just wish we didn’t have to replace it so soon. There is another seat in another bathroom, that has started to crack, so will need to replace that one eventually.

$73 for a plastic toilet seat is ridiculous. $73 for a plastic toilet seat that cracks after a year is maddening. No recycle code, so I guess this is going in the landfill. Bought a bamboo replacement from another company. Kohler, get your act together.

Kohler toilet seats installed in house renovation project in February 2022. By the summer, a mere 6 months later, they were cracked. Very disappointed.

Not quite a year old and this seat has lost a bumper. I'm guessing it got flushed down the toilet since it's nowhere to be found. Hopefully it won't plug up the plumbing!

I bought three of these for all of the toilets in my house. I’ve had to replace one of them twice due to the seat cracking all the way through after a year of use. I like the quiet close and the it installs somewhat easily. But I would pass on purchasing it again considering the cracks that formed from regular use.

Kohler OEM seat cracked after eight years. The replacement seat was purchased for the same Kohler toilet. Easily installed - fit well. Very disappointed with the Kohler product. Purchased fourteen months ago. Normal use – no shock load. Very poor quality – do not recommend.

This seat is cheap poorly made junk. Please do yourself a favor and read the other negative reviews for this - almost all of the corroborate the same issue - major cracking within a year or two of ownership. I've had this seat for a little over a year now, and it has developed major cracks in two areas (see pictures attached). It's conveniently outside the 1 year warranty period, ineligible for replacement. Will not be purchasing any KOHLER toilet related products in the future

My wife had me replace all our toilet seats (4) soon after buying a newly built home. Within 2 years, 3 of 4 seats started to crack.

Installed in November 2021. Of course as I’m just outside of my warranty period, multiple cracks have appeared in the same locations as other reviews. Way too expensive a seat to be breaking this often!

I have this toilet seat on my toilet. I bought it when I bought my toilet from Plumb Supply in Davenport, Iowa. My seat is cracking and I've had it maybe 5 years. Our toilet downstairs is a Kohler with a little different seat. Going to check into getting that one instead. I have never seen a toilet seat crack like this.

Have 3 of these Quiet-Close elongated toilet seats in our newly constructed home with Kohler Highline toilets. Within a year, one seat cracked through on one side and had to be replaced and now a second seat is starting to crack as well. The toilets with cracked seats were in a basement powder room and an upstairs guest bath--both of which have had light use. Now anticipating that the third seat will be cracking soon. Very disappointing and very annoying to have to purchase new seats so soon.

As you can see, my toilet seat broke in the same spot as in several other reviews. I don't even see that the color I need (Mexican Sand) is still available, so I have NO idea what I'm going to do. Am I supposed to replace the toilet and sink in my powder room? I am extremely upset right now. This is NOT the quality / workmanship I expected when I bought Kohler products. This is the second toilet seat that we've had break in our powder room. This one was purchashed in July 2021. We take very good care of the things in our home.

We bought this elongated toilet seat to go with our new Betello Comfort Height toilet. It's the perfect fit. Both high-quality construction, and comfortable to sit on. Closes gently. You can't go wrong with this one!

I moved into my new home March 1, 2022. I had four Cachet Quiet-Close seats installed with the new toilets. Within the first month I noticed all four seats have a hairline crack. I ordered a new one for the powder room and when it arrived it had the same hairline crack. The four bumpers under the seat are suppose to touch the rim of the toilet for equal distribution. Only the two front bumpers touch and as time goes on this may cause unequal pressure causing more damage. I ordered a new one for the powder room and when the installer came I asked him to open it first for inspection. The same crack, only in a different place on the seat, appeared. Needless to say, the new seat was not installed. I expect quality from Kohler but this is most disappointing.

After a couple of years the seat cracked. Now the color has been discontinued. What now?

Purcahsed to replace original seat for the quiet-close option. Poor quality, design flaw that resulted in the seat splitiing towards the rear like so many of the other reviews. We have three other Kohler toilets, but will look elsewhere for a better quality product. Expected more from the Kohler brand name.

I have a Kohler toilet with a Kohler Cachet seat. The existing seat was approx 2 years old and cracked completely through one side of the ring. Since the seat was approx 2 years old I thought maybe that’s just how long they last. I purchased a new seat on 8/1/22, it was delivered on 8/2/22, I installed and immediately noticed a hair line crack in the seat. See attached picture. I’m question now if the prior seat was defective resulting in the cracking occurring given the similar condition of the new seat. It appears there’s potentially a design or quality issue that is impacting the durability of the seats. I’ve had Kohler toilets for many years and have always considered them to be high quality. This experience has been very disappointing and costly.

I purchased 4 of this model to replace old toilet seats in my entire home. It started to crack after one year and now(less than 2 years) all 4 seats have same problem (cracks). I hate to believe that why the warranty of this product is 1 year, but the result of the defect tells it. I searched for the recall information but I couldn't find. Kohler should recall this product. My family is 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). I'm heaviest but still less than 180lb. Gently use of course and never had this kind of issue with other seats in my 50 years of life. This item includes a Quiet-Close system, which means slamming this seat is originally impossible. I really want to bring all my 4 seats to Kohler's Quality team to show those and find the reason.

I do not recommend this product and now i have two buy another seat which is looking good except the big crack and only a matter of time before it completely breaks!

Cracked hinge with less than 6 months use. Need to add another sentence because apparently there's a character minimum. There.

Less than four months and the seat is cracked in two places

I just purchased this as a replacement less than a month ago and the lid has disconnected from the seat. There are only 2 people in my household (no children). This is my second toilet seat, the first one toilet seat lasted approx. 8 years before the soft close mechanism broke (I ordered the replacement part and that only last about two weeks before the lid would no longer stay connected to the seat).

After having this toilet seat for a month the seat now has dimples in it from the spacers on the lid. The toilet seat is very cheap compared to the original seat

This has a manufacturing stamp Feb 2021. It’s now October 2021 and it is cracked. It has been in use since May 2021. Two people use it, 200lbs and less. I like the quick release mounting and the slow closing but the cracking is not acceptable.

WHY IS HOME DEPOT SELLING THESE WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TOILET SEAT CRACKING - CLEARLY DEFECTIVE!!!!

This seat is older than a year, but it cracked on a side and obviously, there is a problem with a material or process at Kohler - the tension in the plastic was so high, that I cannot pull the sides of the gap together. And when it cracked, it was like a gun shot.
