Another bad diverter
Purchased this item without reading reviews..and shame on me. The tub spout diverter did not work right out of the box. Multiple other reviews dating back 2 years indicate the same issue. This is clearly an unresolved defect in this set, and I highly encourage you to avoid this product.

Hi watravisg, my name is Sarah with KOHLER Co. I am sorry to hear your shower faucet diverter is not diverting water properly. We would suggest checking to verify the valve is oriented in the wall correctly and that the correct type of piping was used. Please refer to the installation instructions: http://goo.gl/Uq0346. If the valve is installed upside down, or PEX was used from the bottom valve outlet to the tub spout, the tub spout and shower will not perform correctly. We're happy to send a replacement spout if the issue is not with the installation. Please contact us directly at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We're glad to help! Sarah B. KOHLER Customer Service

We choose this faucet 2 years ago for our bathroom remodel because of price and looks. We took it off to clean the shower head because it started to have a high pitch whistle and when we reattached it, it broke. Where it screws into the shower arm, is plastic. Being a Kohler product, I would've expected metal like the replacement Pfister shower head we had to pick up. Spray pressure and coverage are great. Just don't twist the head too much when installing.

The Diverted valve fails after awhile
So frustrating that the Diverted gasket has failed 2 times in as many years. Also the handle for the Diverted because of the shape is difficult to thread on and off.

Sleek look but poorly made, diverter failed in less than 6 months
DO NOT BUY - as many others have stated (wish I had read the reviews before purchase), the diverter is basically junk. The unit is very nice looking and held up fine for about 5 months. The diverter is starting to fail and will let water through to the tub spout when its in the up position. It is also very hard to press it down to divert back to the tub faucet. I have also seen the manufacturer's response to other reviewers and let me be clear... there is NO pressure problems and the unit was installed properly, by a professional. This is simply a problem with the product. And no, I will not be contacting Kohler to get a replacement. Why on earth would I want to replace it with the same product and have the same problem in another 5 months? No thanks!

Hello Cdpcolorado, I'm Tiffany from Kohler Co. I'm sorry that the Willamette diverter has failed. It is not suggested to push down on the diverter to re-divert the shower back to the spout. Doing so can damage the diverter within the spout and may cause it to fail earlier then accepted. I would be happy to provide a replacement bath spout. If you'd like to discuss these options further, please contact our Customer Service team directly at KohlerCustServ@Kohler.com Thank you for choosing The Bold Look of Kohler. Sincerely, Tiffany S., KOHLER Customer Service

        Excellent product
This shower control comes with detailed instructions and the necessary plastic jigs to ensure the hole in the tile is the correct size. Maintenance is simple. Not the cheapest solution but one that will last a long time.

Check local codes first before purchasing
This faucet did not meet local code in NJ do to the fact it did not have shut off valves attached to the shower valve. It would have passed inspection if we had access to shutoff valve before the shower valve. Unfortunately in our installation we could not do this. Had to purchase another model Kohler shower valve only without any trim that had shutoff attached to pass inspection. Our fault for not knowing the code.

        shower head
I really like the spray on this faucet. It also is easy to move from one setting to the other. The tub spout is a little longer than I like for a standard tub but still does not present any problems. Finish is uniform.

          Not a great product
Bought this because of the look, and the Kohler name. Diverter spout malfunctioned with in a month. Replaced diverter spout, and the new one malfunctioned with in 4 weeks too. This is not an inexpensive shower faucet combo and I expected a better quality product. Will not but another Kohler faucet.

bobbudreau, This is Laura with Kohler Co. I am sorry to hear your Willamette bath spout is not working correctly. Please contact our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@Kohler.com. We would like to discuss the installation and plumbing of your shower faucet as two diverters malfunctioning in less than a month may indicate a plumbing issue. Here are links to the installation instructions for the valve and trim kit: http://goo.gl/Uq0346, http://goo.gl/KSkZPG, http://goo.gl/gATBTY. Copper pipe must be used between the valve and the spout, shark bites may not be used between the valve and spout and there must be a minimum of 7" between the valve and bath spout. We look forward to hearing from you and assisting you! Sincerely, M. Laura K., KOHLER Customer Service

Jen, my name is Sarah from Kohler Co. I am sorry to hear your Willamette bath and shower faucet is not working properly. We would like to make a few suggestions regarding the installation of the shower valve, to insure the installation is not causing these problems. First, we suggest checking the piping used between the valve and bath spout. Copper should be the only material used, as using PEX from the valve down to the spout can cause these issues. We would suggest checking to verify the valve is oriented in the wall correctly. Please refer to the installation instructions: http://goo.gl/Uq0346 Lastly, you can remove the bath spout and run the water from the copper pipe alone. If the water flows from the pipe normally and does not get redirected to the showerhead, the bath spout is the issue. If this is the case, please contact our Customer Service team at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. We're happy to send a replacement spout. If the water continues to run up to the showerhead when the bath spout is removed, this would indicate it is an issue with the plumbing in your wall. Sincerely, Sarah B. KOHLER Customer Service
              Faulty pressure valve
We had to install this faucet twice because of the faulty valve. We later found out that it is par for the course with this particular model. I contacted Kohler directly and they are shipping me a new valve. Good customer service except for the fact that shipping is going to take 7-10 business days thus holding up my contractor.

              Worst Faucet EVER
We have had to have Kohler send us two diverters as the plastic part inside broke, we had to have them also send us the plastic part for the inside of the faucet as it also broke. It is very cheap plastic. We are now waiting for a plumber to go out and check the product as you have to hold the diverter up to get water out of the shower head and this item is located at a rental property 3 hours away. I do not recommend this product to anyone.

Kelly, my name is Sarah with Kohler Co. I am sorry to hear you have had trouble with your bath and shower Willamette faucet. We would suggest checking or having the plumber check the water pressure. This faucet requires 45 psi to ensure the diverter spout functions properly. With less pressure, the tub spout diverter may not stay up. If this is the case, we would suggest adding a pressure booster to the line. If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service team by email at KohlerCustServ@kohler.com. Sincerely, Sarah B. KOHLER Customer Service

              Pretty nice
I read reviews that said the spout leaks. It leaked for me the first time also until I pushed it in further. My only complaint is how the handle threads to the body. Looks good tho.

                Don't buy this.
Very poorly designed. My professional plumber couldn't install it because the trim plate stands to far from the wall you can't screw in the valve handle. Don't buy this.

You might want to read this one.
Okay I'm a big beliver in reading reviews on products before I buy, that being said I realize that angry and frustrated will generate not so good reviews... I also would bet that this set is often installed by tradesmen. If you are not real good at reading following somewhat Complex instructions, or opening the wall then if you can stick with a similar make and model that you are taking out. All the newer brands have a deeper fixture then the older ones so no its not going to just screw into the wall, none of them do... 8 of the 26 reviews I read complained about the bath nozzle / shower head water transfer.. in the instructions it says not to use mutiple 90s even one might cause this condition. I suggest using two 45's a couple inches apart if you can and DON'T use mutiple 90s, It would leak out of the tub spout. Aside from the two points I made this set is a run away 5 for the money plus Kohler backs thier products for life no questions asked. Coming from a guy that just needed a new tub and shower fixture and I studied them all this was what I went with and We love it

                    Run away!!!
DO NOT buy this product, I would give it negative stars if possible. Piece of junk, there is a fundimental flaw in the internal components that cause the shower head to leak when the spout is on. Spoke with Kohler 4x trying to resolve issue, nothing on installation was on incorrectly yet still didn't function. Replaced with delta product with the same plumbing and it worked like a charm, Kohlers lost my business..

                      Willamette Shower Head Leaks
We used this shower head and tub faucet combo in our basement remodel. It looks great, although I do agree that the pipe for the shower head is very short and detracts from the look. Overall we love the shower head and the way it functions- great pressure and water flow and is a generous size. However, the shower head leaks water from the bottom edge when in use. Our contractor says it's because the shower head isn't well made... We have had no issue with leakage from the tub faucet.

                      Tub spout is defective
Three separate spouts replaced all with same defective issue. The pressure is weak and when the shower is on the tub spout is pouring water too; not dripping but pouring. The inside is made of cheap plastic. Switching brands all together because it is not worth the hassle and expense.

TK, My name is Sarah from Kohler Co. I am sorry to hear you had a problem with three Willamette bath spouts. We suggest you check the piping that is ran from the bottom port of the shower valve down to the tub spout. If this piping is not brass, it will cause a back flow of water to come out of the bath spout when you activate the shower. Kohler Willamette shower / tub faucet
The one-handle Willamette works very well. The adjustable spray is strong and well-distributed, better than in many hotels. It looks good and has functioned perfectly since we got it in February. It was a replacement for our old two-handle faucet. I can't comment on ease of installation as I hired a plumber to do the job. It took him several hours, but he had no problems. I might have been able to do it myself, but I'm not handy and probably would have taken days to get it done. The plumber was not cheap, but hiring him was worth it for me.

Installation instructions are inaccurate. Be careful and do your own measurements, I'm referring to page 12 of installation guide, glad we checked and re-positioned the valve before we put the tile. If we followed the instruction the valve would be sitting too deep.

                                    Willamette faucet
Let me first start out with the good. It is a very well made faucet and installation is fairly easy if you are handy with plumbing. Now for the bad. The instructions that come with it need to be improved. The big problem is how they describe installing the valve body. It states that the plaster ring should be flush with the finished wall. OK, that sounds logical. However they didn't state that it should take into account the thickness of the tile and cement. So with a thicker tile, the adapter included to mount the handle is to short. I called Kohler and they don't make an a deep offset adapter for this faucet. I asked the lady, if a plumber was mounting this faucet in new construction, he's not going to know what tile is being installed. She said, I'll notify the engineering dept. Other than that, it's a nice faucet.

Easy to install. remember your mixer needs to be kohler if you buy this. This is always confusing by manufacturers... perhaps the big stores can color code what works with what... if your a plumber... ignore my last statement you should know.
