This gloss-off prepaint surface preparation was so easy to use as there is no unpleasant odor and it was fast working removing the gloss off the wall.

Way too much work. Would be easier to sand.

Easy to use. Wipe on with rag, 10min clean off. Once dry ready to paint. Love this product.

I used it for a chair is was repurposing. It was ok but I think I used the wrong cloth. I’ll try it again and use a rougher cloth and maybe I’ll have better results.

Used to remove wallpaper backing,paste, and residue...let soak for a minute or two and removed all wallpaper remants from wall...

I still had to sand. The instructions were vague. I did exactly what was written on the bottle, but my cabinets were still shiny and glossy -- maybe even more so than before I started because they were clean, too! I called the company. I was told not to work outside with it because it was meant to be used inside. There was nothing about that on the bottle. When I took it inside, the drying time tripled, which slowed me down, and it still didn't do a great job removing the gloss. I took a cabinet door to Home Depot and got an opinion from them. I was advised to sand lightly before applying the paint primer. So ... I could have saved a step and some money by not buying this stuff, but my cabinets were clean before I sanded them. I wouldn't recommend the Gloss-Off -- maybe just the plain Krud Kutter to remove grime and build-up before the inevitable sanding starts.

Worked as advertised, no bad odor or fumes. I wish it was available in-store.

This is a mix of moderately strong non-ionic detergent and a weak solution of paint strippers (citric acid and oxalis acid salts). It’s a great cleaners and surface prep, particularly for painting previously stained wood or surfaces painted with high gloss paints.

I didn’t see the gloss come off.

Average for my application. We’re painting trim in our new-to-us home where it's still tacky from previous paint jobs. This came recommended to knock down shine & tackiness. It worked ok. I don’t recommend for de-glossing (somewhat new) paint. However it worked great to de-gloss finished cabinets.

I had high hopes for this, but it did not work. I used it on fake wood paneling and on hardwood chairs. After repeated attempts both are still very glossy.

This product doesn’t smell noxious and will remove varnish from old stained trim, but a scotchbrite pad and some elbow grease is required. Overall I’m satisfied with the product. Just knowing it doesn’t pollute the environment and won’t kill me makes it my product of choice for deglossing wood.

I used product as instructed on bottle, had same results as using soapy water. It did absolutely nothing!! Don't waste your money.
