this is the third lock I'm ordering over the past 5 yrs. the first one was trashed when I washed the door. the second during a rainstorm. i love everything about the lock save this defect, if kwikset could find a way to make the electronics more water resistant, it would rate 5 stars

Had to return it. The lock was making lots of noise like a stripped gear noise

Cannot seem to program the lockset, pretty knowledgeable guy and this thing is just defective. Will need to return and possibly get something else

this is the third one of these i have bought. put one in my old house, and now two in the new. works great, connects to smart things great, and makes getting in and out of the house super easy.

Purchased this one 2 times and they both broke the same way within 2 years. When I called customer care to find out some information on why 2 of these products would break the same way, the only thing he said was this model has been discontinued a while ago. I then asked why was it discontinued? Being that it's still being sold in stores. If there is a defect or problem with it why is it still being sold in the stores for someone else to buy and have problems with? He did not give me an answer. He just repeated himself, saying "the product is outside of the warranty. However, there is a lifetime warranty on the appearance". Well, I guess for them it's more important that the product looks good while it's in the trash instead of it working for it's intended use. I will NOT purchase this one for a 3rd time. I will hopefully find success with another brand that will actually work longer than 2 years.

The lock had z defect, but Kwikset promptly sent a replacement. The replacement worked fine.

Took a lot of door hole modifications to get in the door. Either the code programming is super easy or it’s like trying to crack a safe and repeated attempts

I love the product but was disappointed that it only lasted 2 years. The only reason I replaced it with the same unit was because we had matching lock sets on the house and I didn’t want to replace both units

Was replacing a simple lever handle and the hole wasn’t large enough for a simple swap out. It fit fine on the door and the price wasn’t as much as the Schlage. Problem is I should have gone with the Schlage. The battery on the Kwikset lasted less than a month of use. Compared to my Schlage Z wave versions, their batteries last at least 6 months.

Easy to install! Love it

The product works well, they were in my former home so i wanted to try again. However latest version of this product will no longer work on many doors with pre-drilled holes for deadlock, because this lock takes up too much room. Be sure to check the door hole spacing and match up to the new lock requirements.

Sadly there is no way to lock this so that the inside doesn’t always open the lock - we bought this to keep the cat from opening the door but it’s not able to really lock the handle

Product exactly as described in very easy to install.

Too complicated to try to retrofit on 1967 era doors. Programming is a nightmare without a 900 mhz router. Nothing like the 911 model which we have used before. Returned.

Broke after 2 years - We now can only open the door with the key...completely useless...DO NOT BUY

Bought this Z-Wave three years ago. Worked well until this past year. The batteries now deplete within a month - and getting worse. Just had the batteries show 1% on Z-Wave controller. Changed the batteries, still 1%. Changed the batteries again, still 1%, Changed again. still no battery improvement.

The lock would intermittently fail to unlock. I would have to go the the main door and enter using the keypad. It would try to unlock but it sounded like something was not catching inside. Also it would not stay connected to the WIFI. I connected it on numerous occasions and it would be fine for awhile and then it would lose the signal.

Load when locking and unlocking, very difficult to put together and broke within a year. Junk do not buy!

Had missing part and unable to contact kwikset

I had to hire a handyman to install but he did just fine!
