A: The Smartkey technology allows rekeying the lock at any time to the other Kwikset key by following the re-keying instructions but is not compatible with other brands.

Change the lock but not the key

Easy to install & easy to re-key to suit the old keys eliminating the need to have copies cut.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this for my parents backdoor. Kwikset makes good products and this is in-line with their quality. I am not a handyman, but I can install deadbolts and this was a breeze to install. I had not problems installing this product and it was very straightforward. The material is very good, there were no scratches on it. The keys worked fine and fit great. I hope it lasts a long time.
