      Our dryer broke (15yrs)and we didn’t have much time with a busy family of 5. I don’t need much, just wanna get it done and was happy with my old one. I researched and chose this one online only, and based on reviews. They weren’t great though, so I was worried. BUT this dryer is absolutely AWESOME!! The lcd light IS to BRIGHT, I don’t know what people are talking about saying you can’t see it. It’s a brilliant bright white light. Also the inside area is HUGE. I mean huge. I never knew my old one was so small. Also, the inside light that shows the clothes when you open the door, or push any key is a wonderful plus. I love that feature. Ps the sound when it’s finished is soft, quaint, and charming. My husband teased my teenage kids and myself when we commented how nice the sound is. After experiencing this dryer, I never realized I didn’t like the old dryer! Ha)This dryer is awesome, I would get again in a heartbeat!! (I Wish I could get the washer to match!)

      I've had this LG DLEX3700 "Sensor Dry" dryer for several weeks and have used it daily. It has yet to properly fully dry a load of clothes on a standard cycle. But before we even get to that, I'll say that the controls are not just a bit hard to see, which I knew before buying, but infuriating. In order to run the machine, one first pushes the "on" button (the dryer plays a delightful tune). Then, one must turn a dial to the desired cycle (but not quickly! - it can't keep up. Sure it's a dial, but it's actually electronic). Then, one adjusts the settings (or tries to) - which requires good lighting and possibly a pair of glasses, too, if you're over 50 - because the panel is black and the text is dark grey, and the surface is glossy which adds glare as well. I have decent eyes and a bright room, and I still need to squat down and get 6" away to see what I'm doing. Here, too, slow and steady is key, because you can't just push a button for your setting, you have to scroll through; if you miss your stop you have to go through again. Now, I said "tries" to adjust the settings, because not only is it absurdly difficult to see what's on the panel and unnecessarily complicated to use, most of the time the dryer won't let you adjust the settings anyway. Because it is smarter than you. So everything is preset for most cycles. As a mom, my dryer most often contains kid clothes in shrinkable cottons. Meaning I can use only the Delicate cycle because its temperature setting is "low," even if there are 3 pairs of denim jeans, 6 tee shirts, 2 hoodies and some socks and underwear in the load that surely don't get treated as "delicate" by my kids. Now I have to choose how dry I want the clothes. I want them dry. I'm not ironing those socks or hoodies. I would have thought I'd want them to be "Normal" dry. (Doesn't that mean "dry?") Maybe "More Dry?" (What is "more dry" than "normally" dry?) Well, experience has shown that neither "Normal" nor "More Dry" gives me dry clothes, so I go for "Very Dry." I push the "Play" button. A while later the delightful end-of-cycle tune plays, and guess what? The load is STILL VERY DAMP. So much for the LG "Sensor Dry." With a whomping 12 cycle options, and as many as 18 modifying settings, the ONLY way I can get an average load of clothes DRY in this machine is to select "Manual" cycle, and select "Very Dry." Which would have been sooo much quicker and easier with a cheaper machine with two or three simple mechanical dials, to set temperature, dry level, and spin speed. Good Lord, I miss my noisy 17-year-old GE that dried my clothes and died of old age. Maybe I just got an LG with a faulty sensor. One way or another it's going back. I even gave Energy Efficiency a low score for this machine because I've had to run cycles over and over. The only advantage over a basic dryer that this LG seems to have, which I have not tried yet, is the "Steam Fresh" cycle, if it works. Oh, and the delightful tune which is so much nicer than a loud buzz to tell you that your clothes are dry - or not, as the case may be.

          Just received the washer and dryer. I bought the $80 stacking kit and stacked the dryer on top of the washer. The cord for the dryer is at least 6 inches too short and doesn't reach the outlet. What kind of crappy engineering is this? Wouldn't you think they would provide enough length for the cord to account for an outlet above the baseboard when it is stacked? Now I can't stack them or I have to pay an electrician to move the outlet. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper.

            LG awesome dryer with steam! Front loader

              My husband and I went through a complete remodel in our home and we purchased this dryer along with a matching washer to install as a stacked pair, excited to have a new main-floor laundry space. After installation until now, the dryer seemed to be working fine, but - we are JUST past the 1 year warranty (by about 3 months) and our Dryer's drum now will sporadically turn or just not run at all. We called an appliance repair specialist and when he took it apart, apparently there was a "Dent" in the back metal wall which has caused the dryer drum to not rotate correctly. Because the washer / dryer was installed, we didn't see the back or realize that there was any issue. We did have the W/D set stacked, so it's not an easy thing to try to turn. Apparently there is not a way to take it apart (to try to unbend the dent) nor put it back together except to cut the spot welds and then theoretically re-weld them. We took pictures and the metal on the interior and exterior, and so when the drum turns, it rubs against the dent so the entire drum is off center. The back frame of the dryer is bent in approximately 3/8" to 1/2" so that has caused the drum to not rotate on the drum rollers correctly causing it to bind up / stop. It's terrible to have spent good money, and not have a good product. It was not something that showed up when we first started using the dryer, our repair person said it's just the wear due to the imbalance. AND it's now out of warranty. If this would have happened at first, we'd have called immediately. Our repair person felt like the dent is possibly from delivery or shipment, but likely even in the manufacturing. There is nothing he can do. The damage had to be from a machine or something strong enough to damage it in this manner. We are so very disappointed. One year into it's use and we'll likely have to buy another new dryer. Our former Kenmore lasted for nearly 20 years. I don't even know where to start. I'm certain H/D and LG will both say, "too bad", it's past warranty. So my best option is to warn others.

                      Great for 5 Years
                      Purchased this along with a matching washer in 2019. Item worked well until just recently when the control board failed. Since the control board costs almost as much as a new dryer, we’ve decided not to fix it. We are now in the market for a new dryer after only 5 years.

The quality and cleaning ability of the machine is wonderful..I would definitely recommend the extended warranty though for maintenance.

                              It works ok. Never really dries clothes all the way on the normal setting. I had to add a custom setting to get clothes dry. It also had a total motherboard failure 3.5 yrs into owning it. Took 5 service calls to figure it out. Lots of wasted time. Also, key feature that it lacks: the light inside the drum should turn on when user opens the door.

                                        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, many lights would start blinking and then it wouldn't start. This could be solved by turning off the circuit breaker and waiting a bit. Not great, but workable. Now, it makes a very loud tumbling noise. Time to go get another brand, but I don't know if the other brand would stack on top of the LG washer.

                                              Great when it works
                                              I've had this dryer for 3 years and it has crapped out twice. Power cord melted the first year, and the thermistor quit in the third year. When it's working it's great.

                                                I will never buy a lg product again good thing we had five years extended warrant which we had to use we purchased the dryer in 2020 its now 2023 we had lg techs out three times the last one got it right.

I have to always adjust the manual setting to a higher heat and tech person said that's just the way it is. My previous dryer lasted 15 years with no problems.
