Sand mix driveway sealer
I did my whole driveway with 1 1/2 5 gal cost under 50 bucks for both buckets, and it looks great, only 1 coat ,it covered up the aquaphalt cold patch very well no primer needed, And it also covered up the pli stix I used to fill in cracks, driveway looks great, I used dawn dish soap and a hard scrub brush too clean it, and pressure washed it a few times before I used this driveway sealer,

    Shrunk a lot
I am going do do a second coat because it shrunk a lot. Other reviewers are correct: On a raw driveway, you only get 200 square feet per bucket. I would not use this or and sealer product without using my drill driven stirrer. Stir and dump on the driveway right away so there is no settling. Picture included. These are commonly used for 5 gallon buckets of paint. Turning the pails over the night probably helps too.

Down one week and product is already breaking down
Driveway was power washed prior to sealing. Mixed and applied product as per mfg instructions. Product has begun separating when rained on and any pressure- shoes, cars, etc., caused the sand to separate from the sealer. Poor product.

        Inconsistant
What is going on with this product? I opened the buckets and it smelled weird (almost like sewage). The buckets were not filled consistently and some of the product had a pudding consistency and some were watery.

          Looks good so far!
My driveway is 3600 sq ft and has not had any sealant put on it in over 12 years. After reading the reviews I thought I better buy 20 buckets since the fellow that also had 3600 sq ft said that was how much it took for his driveway. According to the information about the product it said that a driveway that was in rough shape or that had never been sealed each bucket would cover between 300 to 400 sq ft. What I found out as I began applying it is using the brush allows the material to cover correctly and not go on too thick, which allowed me to get about 300 sq ft per bucket. I ended up using 12 buckets to complete the project. A week before I sealed the driveway I bought 6 gallons of 2X Premium Blacktop Crack Filler and filled all the cracks going across the driveway or anywhere I could see a crack. I have never used this product so time will tell if it will crack after the first freeze like all the other ones that I have used through the years. I reapplied several of the cracks after a 24 hour time. I kept one of the extra 4.75 gallon buckets for repair in the event I need to redo a place, but will take the other 7 buckets back tomorrow. I am curious how it will look in a couple of weeks or months. I live in Western NC and I get the evening sun on the hot summer months on most of the driveway, so we will see how it plays out in the future. I will make another statement regarding the product after the first freeze. I forgot to take some before pictures so I put some from last year that I had and it shows where I have patched the cracks, which I have done each summer for many years. After the first freeze they have all crack so far. It took me 3 and 1/2 hours to complete my driveway. I bought a painter's mixture to connect to my drill and I would mix up 2 buckets at a time and then begin by pouring a line of the product across then I would work it in with the brush. I started the project before the sun was overhead and that made it apply much better. I noticed before I finished the sun was making it dry faster and was more challenging to get it out at the same rate. If you have two people it could have been done in 1/2 the time. I waited two days before driving on it, but it was dry to the touch in a couple of hours. I noticed that the 2X crack filler does not harden completely and the tires make imprints in it, so hopefully this will allow for movement when it gets colder without cracking. Will see!

            Caused more damage than good
It is very liquid. It immediately formed cracks when dried. By curling up, it even tore up some of my patching. There are better brands out there. I returned this one.

              Happy with results
I have a 3600 sqft driveway that was in BAD shape. It may have never been sealed in 15 years. My 20 buckets had a good consistency and mixed easily. The issue i ran into is coverage. The first 4 buckets i used covered just about 450 sqft total - not good. With a squeegee i coujd not get a thin coat due to how rough my driveway is. On the 5th bucket i decided to try a push broom to see if i could get a thinner coat. Bingo problem solved. using the broom i started getting around 200 sqft per bucket. Yes i get some brush marks and i would say it is more effort but it turned out great. In the end i ran out of sealer with about 100 sqft to go. Had i not used the squeegee i would have made it. In my opinion if your driveway is rough and pitted use a broom to spread it. I looking at my 2 section, where i used the squeegee the result is not great. You can see it went on too thick and is cracking. The section with the thin broom coat looks great. I cant speak for durability but the results are good so far.

Driveway was in the worst condition of disrepair possible. I doubt the product was meant for this type of job, however it did seal it up in spite of large holes, huge cracks etc. I did use the other products same company, crack sealer, trowel patch etc. All said and done I ended up using (4) 4.75 gal buckets of the product on a700 SQ. Ft. Small apron. I have a 5th bucket I plan on using at end of summer before it turns cold. I loved the ease of application, the price of less than $20/Bucket and the super easy clean up with soap and water. Anyone can apply this product and have professional results. Again, I doubt seriously they intended this product for use on such a job but in my opinion it did wonders and I'm quite satisfied. Also a shout out to the company Dalton Enterprises, I emailed an important question regarding using the airport grade over the top of the sand mix formula and they got back to me in less than 8 hours. Their explicit and easy to follow directions along with the instructional videos left me extremely impressed. YES I recommend this product to anyone wishing to make their driveway look great again at a very affordable price.

I had a very porous driveway, I don't yet know how long the product will last, but I can say I got about 100 sf out of a 5 gallon bucket (photo of full bucket coverage). I decided against finishing.

I purchased over 20 of these for my driveway. I previously used their more expensive products and had similar results as others who complained it only lasted about a season. After Winter we will see how it looks but application was easy and mixing average. There were no color issues going from container to container.

It wasnt bad at all. It dried somewhat fast but it also sat in the sun. For the price it is good. It says 2 year warranty verses the other brand at x2 price with a 7 year warranty. I'm not sure if it actually would last 7 years. It is probably better to buy twice as many cheap ones and do 2 coats verses 1 coat of "7 year" kind.

Bought eight pails of Latex-ite Driveway Coating Rubberized sand mix to seal my driveway. I have been using Layex-ite products for over ten years so I am not knew to the procedures on the use of this product. This product is the worst that I ever used. I am still looking for the sand! The first two cans were like water, the next two were like spreading something a little thinner than pudding. The next two were something in between. There is no consistency in this product. All cans are from the same pallet and lot. During applying seal on half way, I've realized that it didn't fill hairline cracks. See attached photos. There must be no QC at this company anymore. This is the first time something like this has happened to me using their products. If I could give negative stars I would. Looks like I need to find another brand now!!!!

Due to the price, this sealer caught my attention. Saw the high rating and many positive reviews so I gave it a go on my long and neglected driveway. Tackled this myself, I used 25 total buckets put down via squeegee but was expecting to need 35, so for me the coverage was better than expected. I did use a drill with a paint stirring bit on every one after opening. The initial results look good. Just too early to tell how well it will last but for the price I doubt I would ever complain. Seems like a way better product than what the guys I hired "sprayed" on 3 years ago.

I used 10 gallons of this sealer on my driveway on 6/22/2019. Start early in the morning as I did when the temperatures are a bit cooler. Also, I used an edge trimmer the evening before to cut back the grass all along the edge and then I used my leaf blower to get the driveway completely debris free. The following morning, I started the project by using a large cheap masonry brush that I bought to trim all the edges along the driveway and up by my garage entrance. This takes time if you want to do it right. Next, I spaced out all of the containers in somewhat of a plan where I would need to dump the next container. I spread all of the material using a large squeegee until I ended down by the road and my mailbox. In all, it took me approximately 5 hours to complete and I was exhausted at the end. However, it came out great and much better looking than when it was last done professionally. Even though this material is on the cheaper side of the spectrum of sealers, I think it is much better than the commercial sealer. I would absolutely recommend this product and I like that the sand mixture fills in some of the micro cracks in the driveway. Make sure your stir each container and just used a tall thin board. Also, make sure you flip them upside down the night before you plan to use it. If you have some larger cracks, use the proper crack filler at least a day before sealing. I would definitely buy this brand again.

I looked around at a lot of different driveway sealants before selecting this one, and I could not be happier with my choice! Around 4 years ago I had sealed my driveway using the "10 year" blue top sealer from Lowes and it was so thin that it was very runny and hard to apply; I had to chase it all down the driveway. With this latex-ite rubberized coating it is thick enough to not run so you can take your time and do it the right way. It is a little heavier than what I've used in the past but that's what makes it so good. I don't think you can find a better sealer on the market, especially at this price. I have a 1,600 ft2 driveway and I bought 8 buckets, but I only used 6 so I returned the other two to my local HD. I thought it was great that I was able to return an online order to the store without any hassle. I followed the directions for driveway prep by pressure washing my driveway, and filling any cracks with an asphalt sealant caulk. I also made sure that the night time lows would be well above 50 degrees for several days without any chance for rain. I only did one coat, and my driveway looks brand new; I think that it'll look great for several years, and when it needs re-coating i will most definitely use this product as long as the formula doesn't change.

                        Very good quality sealer.
Spent weeks prepping my driveway. Filling in cracks with liquid type crack filler then letting it soak in deep then finishing it off with some patch filler. It came out nice. If you are going to do it, do it right the first time. I used a flat head screw driver and a air compressor to remove debris from the crack and filled them up. Waited a week or two for the perfect weather. Blew off the large dirt and debris with a leaf blower and pressure washed afterwards. They say to apply it in the early morning while the sun isn't that hot for your sake and the driveways sake. I did the opposite due to work schedule. I ended up sealing it the next afternoon-evening. Did the edges with a brush. Only applied one medium coat for the entire driveway. The objective is to cover the previous asphalt and make sure the sealer soaks in. Ended up using 8 buckets for about a 1500 sqft. Save yourself some money and do it yourself. Really isn't that hard. Pictures attached.

                          Shipping mixed it up good..
My order of 3 buckets of sand-mix was shipped to the Waltham HD via UPS or Fedex.. Each bucket was inside a good cardboard box. Did my driveway in two sections. One half at a time, while we used the other side for our cars. The mix went on easy and cured for walking in 24 hours. We waited 48 hours before moving cars over it. Close inspection of low areas (where water accumulates) showed that many tiny cracks (less than 1mm) were not sealed. Those areas required a second coat. The application was done quickly, because of intense sun and heat. (I'm 70 years old) So, it looks sloppy but 98% of all the cracks are now sealed and the driveway should be protected for another 2 or 3 seasons. Sealant takes a beating, because of all the snow we've been getting in the Boston area (global warming causes record snow and cold). We Run a heavy snow-thrower and it takes a toll on the coating.. I love the clean up. Just wash off your tools and the buckets with the water hose..

                          Asphalt sealer , great product
This sealer, for the price, is the best out there. Easy application, easy cleanup and nice color(deep black). 1400 sq ft driveway done in 3 hours, not including prep work. I have done many driveways and this sealer is very easy to apply. The key is to start early in the morning when it's not to hot and the sun is not bearing down on top of it. Great product, you won't be disappointed.

                            Driveway coating
Product was very easy to apply. I used a rubber squeegee. Pour it out and Squeegee away. My driveway had never been sealed so it was on the low end of square footage for covering. Very low odor. Dries very quickly. Clean up was easy but don't be wearing good clothes. If there was to be anything to improve on would be a thinner mix for the edges that I have. They were rough and it was a bit of a challenge to heard the mix to where you wanted it on the edges. I choose the sand mix as we have a slopped driveway and added traction will be nice for the wet days.

                            Good stuff
Store the cans upside down for a day or so before opening them. Stir the liquid with a 2 x 2 or something similar. The real trick to mixing this stuff is to have an extra empty five gallon pail to pour off some of the liquid into out of the first bucket, then pour it back and forth to mix it up. Stirring each one. My 85' driveway with a turn-around at the top took 3 1/2 buckets using the required squeegee. Definitely get the squeegee. Don't bother with rollers. If you need to do some edging, use a big paint brush. The squeegee cleans up with a hose and a little scrubbing. Make sure to wear gloves/clothes/shoes/sneakers that you're not going care what happens to them. It's a messy job but it's easy. The whole project cost me less than $100.
