About This Product

Latex-ite 4.75 Gal. Ultra Shield Driveway Filler Sealer is an asphalt emulsion based driveway sealer/filler for blacktop. Ultra Shield is an advanced EZ-Gel formula that has an enhanced rubberized system for maximum durability and color retention. Ultra Shield contains ThermaSeal Technology which will speed up cure time and allow for cool weather application - down to 40 degrees F. Helpful hints before you seal your driveway: 1) Figure out how many pails you need by using the coverage information below in the bullet points. The size and condition of your pavement will dictate how many you need 2) Flip pails overnight prior to doing job (it will be much easier to mix in the morning and will ensure consistency during application). 3) Do the project all at one time without starting and stopping. 4) Allow patch and repairs a minimum of 24 hours to cure. We recommend sealing when the temperature is 55 degrees F but since Ultra Shield contains ThermaSeal technology it will cure in cooler temperatures, down to 40 degrees F. Make sure no rain is in the forecast for at least 36 hours. Note: If product is not available to order in your area, that is due to nighttime temperatures. Product may not cure and/or track in late fall and early spring applications.

        Worthless product
We meticulously followed directions to apply two coats to our paved driveway. We thoroughly cleaned using the recommended product and then applied using the recommended tool. This was done in September 2023. Now, the product has mostly flaked away. See the photos.
horrible waste of time and money
I put this on about 6 months ago. I purchased this because I ordered too little of another product and it was no longer available. This product has completely disappeared from my asphault, while the other product looks great. I will seek a refund of my iver $400 and eat all the labor costs I am sure. The bare spot which stretchesabout 60 ft out of view is the area sealed with this product 😡

            Cracks appeared again
I applied crack filler 2x let it dry, then applied the ultra sealant at 34.97, and applied that 2x, not even 6 months and it has cracked again, I bought 6 5 gallon containers, and want to be reimbursed for at least 2, where do I go for that.
              Doesn't Last Very Long
I purchased and applied three buckets of this product last summer. It was used on a rental property parking area. The product is more like a paint than an asphalt slurry. I supposed that's why it didn't really last too long. It has been about six months and the coating is flaking and washing off in the weather. This property's asphalt parking area is pretty old and maybe that's why it didn't hold up. Perhaps if the surface were smoother it would do better? I would suggest looking for a more professional slurry or sealer coat. Would not buy this again with the expectation it will last.
                Claiming under Warranty
Purchased Latex-ite Driveway Filler Sealer UltraShield on 07/15/23 from 2065 Niagara Falls Blvd, Amherst, NY store (store #1233). Applied two coats on my driveway as directed before winter. Now the winter has just started and I notice that the sealant is peeling off from various places. The sealant is expected to last 10 years and is warranted for defects. I, therefore, request a remedy. I wanted to contact Home Depot by email but could not get any ID. Hence, resorting to review. Regards, Anwar
                  Lasted one month.
I followed the application directions, power washed, blown clean, mixed thoroughly, above 55 degrees at night. 10 five gallon buckets for approximately 2300 sf. Produced went on smooth with a squeegee. My driveway is in decent condition and was coated 3 years ago wich is a typical length of time for Arizona. It looked really good when finished. The following morning there was small cracks throughout. We didn’t drive in it for 3 days. As soon as we did the cracked sections crumbled. The product continued to flake off. I now have small black chips all over my rock/gravel yard. My driveway also continues to flake so I can’t have it coated again. I am stuck with this until it all flakes off. I seldom write reviews but this is a huge mistake. There is something wrong with this product. I have just reached out to latex-ite so I will see if they stand behind their product.
Bad coverage, doesn't adhere to the old surface
I got this stuff because my asphalt driveway was older and cracked. I started by sweeping it, then blowing it with a leaf blower, then blasting it with a power washer. Followed the directions to the letter. I should have been able to do the whole driveway with one 5-gal bucket, instead it took four (4) buckets. The coverage was so bad that the manufacturer sent me a 5-gal bucket for free. The result is just awful, and no one at the company was able to tell me why.

It took 3 days to dry, because we live in very humid area. After a month, it still looks beautiful. This seal lives up to its claim.

My husband and I completed this enormous task of sealing the driveway. He poured from the buckets and I used the squeegee. I estimated only 250 sq ft per bucket and bought 9 buckets for our driveway....we still ran out. It may have been due to this being the first sealing of the driveway (which was installed about 1 year ago). My advice is to get at least one more than you think you need (In our case, we needed 2 more.) We had to get a competitor's product when we ran out. I will say the Ultrashield went farther than the competitor's. We'll see how it holds up!
