I love the concept and the look. It turns on beautifully. However it takes way to much time to turn off.

Having a pass thru laundry room, coming into house at nite with bags or children's totes i run into objects in the dark. The switch is on the other side. If my hands are full I have to use an elbow..This motion switch solved the problem. Pros : easy wiring , 3 way switch has different connection, follow instructions..have to change the fan switch to a wide paddle type, to match the coverplate..Cons: programming can be tricky, read instructions. Its functions perfectly

Leviton 2 Amp Single Pole Decora Motion Sensor In-Wall Switch has an automatic on when you walk into the room. I installed this in my pantry which gave me the freedom of not having to juggle my items in my hands to turn on the light. If you install it yourself don’t forget to turn off the power to the switch. It would be best to have an electrician install if you are not sure of working with electricity. It comes on right away to give you light, and you can press the switch if you don’t want to wait for the automatic turning off of the switch when you leave the area.

When working in my workshop, I frequently move between 2 other sheds where lumber and other supplies are kept. Entering while carrying heavy lumber leaves no hands free for light switches. I have identical sensor switches in two sheds; and now have this one in the shop. This is DOS02 from Leviton. It has adjustable ambient light time delay setting if desired. With the exception of ambient light settings, all other programming is done from the top and bottom buttons so there is no need to remove the covers. The feature I like most is the shallow depth of the switch as it leaves room enough for the wires and wire nuts. My next favorite feature is the LINE and LOAD wires may be wired interchangeably. Working within a tight space it is easy to mistake one black wire for the other. The wiring instructions included with the switch have easy-to-follow illustrated diagrams. The options are 2a. When neutral is not present; and 2b. when neutral wire is present, such as my application is. I finished the installation with a Leviton oversize wall plate, which is not included with the switch. Four wire nuts are included.

Decora + Motion Sensor Switch works with LED, Incandescent, or Halogen lamps. The switch has a manual-on feature should you require it. The motion sensing switch can be used to automatically turn on/off lights when motion is present to illuminate an area or path. This device will replace a standard wall switch and is in the Decora family of finishes. The color matches existing devices for a clean and smooth finish. The time to off delay can be set from 1-minute to 20- minutes. The device is for indoor use only. The sensor can be used for occupancy or vacant setting which is performed by removing the switch face, The adjustments for time and light sensitivity are done with using the face plate pushbutton and following the chart in the instructions. There is a location light feature that can be used to find the device in low light conditions. This device is convenient for entering a room and have the lights automatically come on and turn off when you leave. A neutral is not required for this device, but a ground is. This is an energy saving device. The device faceplate is removable to change the finished color.

Leviton 2 Amp Single Pole Decora Motion Sensor In-Wall Switch, Auto-On in White I had a motion sensor in my garage in my previous home and loved it because as soon as I entered the garage the light came on and I didn’t have to fumble around in the dark until I got to the light switch so when I moved to my new home this was one of those DIY projects I had on my list. I ordered this Leviton single pole motion sensor switch and couldn’t be happier with the install and the way it functions. I watched the installation video online prior to the install to make sure this sensor would work with the electrical configuration in my light switch and since I had a ground and neutral wire the installation was quite easy. The only tools you will need are a Phillips and slotted screwdriver, electrical tape and a voltage tester. Total installation time was about 10 mins. The motion sensor activated within 20-30 seconds after turning the power on and the light stayed on for about 1 min after not sensing motion. The delay can be programmed for 1,5,10, or 20 mins but I think 1 minute works for most people. The sensor also has 180 degree or 900 sq ft field of motion. This Leviton motion sensor detects motion really well and turns off automatically although you can push the button manually if you choose. I recommend the Leviton motion sensor, it’s perfect for use in a laundry room or garage.

I’ve been looking to replace my older existing motion sensor switch in my mudroom. My current Decora style motion switch which is only compatible with incandescent types of bulbs and not with CFL or LED types of bulbs and I couldn’t get it to stay on for more than 30-seconds. I came across this Leviton Decora motion sensor switch with is a direct replacement for my older existing Decora style switch and works with incandescent, halogen, CFL & LED bulbs. This motion sensor switch can be used to comply with 2019 California Title 24, Part 6 Vacancy Control Device Requirements. This switch works perfectly and has eliminated the short on time of my previous motion sensor switch.

This motion sensor wall switch works great in my master closet. It has a 180 degree sensor allowing any movement in that range to turn the light on. It is programmable to set the ON time from 1 minute to 20 minutes since the last motion detection. If you decide you want the light off before the timer shuts it off, you can push the bottom button to turn it off manually. Once no motion is detected for a short time, the motion sensor is set to turn the light on when it detects motion again. Easy to install and set up.

I was replacing an old single pole toggle switch in the garage. It still worked but wanted modern update. This Leviton has wiring options and appeared to be an easy install. The switch could be installed with a neutral (white) wire present in the box, or without a neutral present. The old toggle switch did not utilize a neutral (white wire) but there were several white (neutral) wires connected together and shoved into the back of the box. I chose to use the white neutral wires instead of using the alternate non-neutral ground wire connection option. I had to add an additional white wire to those already in the box. Installation was fairly simple. Although the switch has the motion detector auto on and the timed off functions, the switch still has the manual on/off button option which is a nice feature. The default is set for occupancy mode which focus on automatic on/off control. The manual on/off button still works. The switch worked fine with the default settings. However, I wanted to change one setting. My only negative with the switch was the poor instructions for programming different functions like the amount of time for auto “no motion” turn off. The switch comes with default settings and to change those settings the user has to engage the programming functions. I wanted to change the turn off time from 10 minutes to 5 minutes. There are no dials to adjust. The programming must be done by touching the top and bottom of the manual touch plate and counting red or green flashes to select and save new settings. The instructions for the programming to me were not user friendly, although I read and re-read the programming instruction multiple times. It took me longer to change the timing option than it did to install the switch. I eventually got it done before frustration set in. Once you figure out how it is done then the instructions start to make sense but the frustration with programming affected my over-all rating of this switch. Would have preferred the old fashioned manual dials to change settings.

Utterly useless, going old school and getting rid of the hassle of apps. Do not recommend!

Terrible. Lights flicker and don’t reach lowest or highest dimming level. Even after programming the dimmer several times. I bought 12 of these dimmers now I need to return them all.Leviton Smart dimmer is better but expensive. If you want a regular dimmer Stay with Lutron Maestro series.

Switch was very easy to install, comes with all accessories needed and clear instructions for simple wiring. Looks great and functions perfecty!

Good switch. A little tough to understand the programing but there is some great information on the internet to explain better than the instructions included.

The motion sensor works as soon as I walk out of my door. Stays on while I’m in the space and automatically turns off a little bit after I leave. Very convenient.
