This topper is designed to soften the feel of a too-firm mattress, but keep in mind that the thicker a topper is, the plusher it will feel and deeper it will sink. If you want a softer feeling bed but don’t want one quite this plush, then choosing a thinner topper should work better for you. Please know that the foam will turn yellow as it comes into contact with oxygen. This is known as oxidization and it is a completely normal process. It doesn’t affect the performance or life of the topper and it will happen with all foam products. Additionally, toppers are designed to soften the feel of a too-firm mattress and the thicker a topper is, the plusher it will feel and deeper it will sink. If you are hoping for a firm sleeping surface, then please note that a topper won’t help you achieve this feel. If it does, please know that we don’t recommend using a topper. Toppers are great for cradling the curves of your body, but they can also form to the curves in your mattress which makes them more noticeable and uncomfortable. If you have an uneven mattress, the best option is to invest in a new mattress and only add a topper if it feels too firm for you. We do offer several affordable mattresses and we would love to help you choose the best one if you are interested.
