Very sturdy and easy to install. It must be installed onto studs to get the full load-bearing support. The steel plate is wider than I thought it would be, about 8 inches, so it may require some modification behind the drywall. You may have to attach some additional framing to get the full-rated support and meet ADA standards, however it probably would be adequate for a normal-sized person if it were only attached to a stud down one side of the plate. I was very lucky to find a spot right where I needed it where there were studs for the bolts on both sides of the plate. The instructions called for a piece of wood behind the metal plate, so I cut a piece of plywood to fit. I was able to lift my entire 290 lb body off the ground holding on to the bar with no damage to the wall or the bar. The bars are easy to hold and has a diamond-checker pattern on there to improve grip. I did not put this in a bathroom, so I removed the plastic toilet paper holder. They make a similar model without the TP holder, but it costs a lot more and I could not see paying significantly more for it.

Exactly as ordered. Could use some suggested mounting system with surface mounting suggestions. Forget cutting plaster and putting wood in wall, replastering and painting etc. A plaque like 1”piece of hard wood screwed to the 2x4 or 1” alum angle works. Test after mounting.

The Moen grab bars are very well made and installation was simple. We have some other manufacturer’s fold up grab bars installed in another bath room, these are a definite upgrade. Just make sure you install wood backing before installation.

Very sturdy rail and the hardware that comes with it is perfect to handle the amount of weight it is rated for! I'll send a pix later.

Not easy to install is in the process of being returned. Luckily it can be returned to a store hopefully even if bought on line.

This grab bar is very well made. It is heavier than I expected but I guess it needs to be. It was easy to install. It is perfect for my mother. I love the ability to flip it up so others can use the facility. I would recommend this product.

Good product fits perfect in hospital bathroom. Improves safety.

We installed this bar in the bathroom. It was placed on the wall in front of the commode to assist with standing. It definitely helped.The person using the bar can stand a little longer while an aide assists in dressing. The disabled individual is using less energy by grabbing the bar directly ahead of him. The bar also provides assistance in transporting as they get back into their wheelchair. As we watch our loved ones struggle, it is comforting to know that we can help. This bar is very beneficial. This is a must have if you can't each a normal grab bar. A family member is in a nursing home and the bathroom setup was really bad. Once this grab bar was installed it made it really easy to get up off the toilet. The grab bar swings up out of the way when not in use and easily moves back down when needed. Installation wasn't the easiest as the wall needed to be opened up and a brace made to be installed between the walls to help support the grab bar. OVERALL it was worth the work. There are several types of support items available for the bathroom, BUT THIS IS THE BEST AND LEAST EXPENSIVE. I highly recommend it.

THIS BAR IS A BRAND NAME, BUT NO ELSE HAS THE GREAT PRICE. NO CLUE WHY.....AS WE PURCHASED THE EXPENSIVE ONE THROUGH OUR BATHROOM REMODELER FOR THE FIRST BATHROOM AND THIS ONE WE PURCHASED FOR THE 2ND BATHROOM AND DID THE WORK OURSELVES. AWESOME VALUE
