Careful setting the mixing valve body with the supplied plaster guard. I followed moens instructions to the letter and the valve handle sticks out way past the cover plate. I called moen and the customer service was horrible. Her excuse was that in the instructions there appears to be a gap, whereas in the picture advertising it here doesn't show a gap. I bought the product based on the picture I seen here. Careful everyone, do your research. I had the plaster guard flush (maybe a 1/16" above flush) with the finished wall as said in the instructions. In my opinion, it wouldn't hurt to have the plaster guard recessed about 3/8" to 1/2" from the finished wall. it looks god awful and I'm stuck with it now. For me to fix it I'd have demo the new shower surround I put in. Same on Moen.

This is a sleek shower set. Easy to install(per the plumber) and looks and feels great. It's simple and modern and will last us decades. Should anything go wrong(drip leak), you can easily change out the internal cartridge. Moen customer service is also top notch should you have any questions or needs parts.

Product was defective. Brass valve body was so poorly cast that pipe inlets were so out of round there was no way a pipe could be inserted.

The reason I give this valve 5 stars is due to many years of experience installing them for my customers. It's reliable, easy to use, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The total experience was great, from speaking to customer service in finding the right valve to receiving it within a couple days, even before it was to arrive. Furthermore, we know from experience that Moen carries a reliable product that delivers years of service. Moen stands behind their products so it something were to go wrong, they will make it right; although we have never had this problem. Once we received the valve it was soldered efficiently and quickly. The value comes with a scald free security that water can't be turned on to hot. The mechanics of the value bring smooth operation that one can place the knob/handle in the exact spot for consistency of comfortable and relaxing shower that bring vitality in the morning and relaxation for the evening.

This brass valve maintains temperature of water even when someone else in the house flushes the toilet. The instructions for installation are clear and there are videos available on U-Tube that can also be helpful. The one I bought has fittings for soldering brass piping to the ports. You can also get it with threaded fittings or barbed for direct connection with the modern PEX type piping. Ask your plumber which one would be best for you before you buy. My plumber used the copper piping to make a secure mounting before connecting the PEX pipes. Follow the instructions to flush the lines after installation to save the cartridge.

Valve did not hold water. Had to replace.

After receiving this faucet we were very disappointed that is was plastic. We returned it.

Product delivered on time but was not packed well and one of the inside boxes was open. It did also did mot include a manual, I was able to down load a user and instruction manual online via the moen website. Luckily Moen had a couple good online videos on how to install.

Love this for my new double shower wirh 2 shower heads, I bought 2!

The valve cartridge leaked.

This is the second Moen trim kit I have purchased to update our bathrooms. We chose Moen because it was the simplest for us to replace because the house was originally outfitted with Moen fixtures. In both situations of trying to replace the water temp handle, the set screw needed to keep the handle on would not fit. Twice we have been to the home improvement stores to find a suitable replacement set screw just to finish this job. It's very disappointing that with the expense of these trim kits, the screws included from Moen are useless and have to be replaced in order to make the piece functional. Aside from that complaint, the trim kit is beautiful and looks really nice installed. It really updates the look of the shower. They were very easy to replace without the need of a plumber.

although i did not have this particular device installed, the concept is really a plus in terms of user safety, since it prevents accidental scalds. my plumber used a different posi-temp model that has the water shut-offs built into the device, which is a really smart idea. anyone who is replacing a bathtub faucet should consider purchasing pone with a posi-temp device.
