It operates, but nails don't shoot out. They just sit there in t he cartridge no one to call to trouble shoot. A waste of money. The battery costs more than the nailer. Total waste, only used for little bird house making projects according to reviews. Not for commercial use.

Great battery, last for a long time

I completely agree with what the pro carpenter wrote. This is an excellent, super convenient, tool. If you are trying to rapid fire nails, its going to jam. But if you are deliberate, shoot one nail at a time, complete engage the trigger, this tool will function perfectly. I had one jam, in the first five nails, while getting excited and blasting away. I cleared the jammed nail, decided to take my time and be deliberate, and it hasnt misfired in thousands of nails. I'm a weekend warrior, wannabe handyman, hobbist, so this tool isnt going to get the hard use (from me) as it would from a professional. But for my purposes, and given that I'm already in the Makita ecosystem - and the bonus of not having to crank up an air compressor - this nailer is worth every penny.

Longest life 2 ah battery on the market!

Have all Makita batteries, thought this would be a good addition after my semko blew up after many years. Wrong.! Even with a fresh 5ah battery it wouldn't fully set any length of nails in oak base trim, so I had to use a nail set every time, defeats the purpose of a micro pinner. After the first day I returned it. I like the rest of my Makita cordless, but this is junk. Don't waste your money or time.

Great size and easy to use. Goes perfectly with all my other 18 volt Makita tools. Good price as well.

Quality battery, works as intended. Good on impact and grass clipper. Light weight lasts for my needs. My Makita saws and planers are corded and are very high quality. This seems to be also.

If you want a great impact the makita xwt zero eight z is an amazing option Replaced my transmission and diff with it and was great and the battery held well and build quality was nice

Got this battery with a Makita XDT14 as a free gift. Cost that day was $105. I couldn’t have been happier with that deal. Battery holds charge and charges pretty fast. So far so good. The 2.0AH isn’t what I’d buy but for free I’ll take it.

This battery came as a bonus when I purchased an item as tool only. This battery has helped when just a little more battery time is needed. Also, with the slender size it helps me get into tighter spaces with drills and stuff.

I got this as part of a Makita / Home Depot promotion. Normally, I've been buying 5.0Ah and 6.0Ah LXT batteries, but this little 2.0 is a delight, especially when I use it in my Makita XDT16 impact driver -- the combo makes for an incredibly useful, usable and well balanced tool.
