Vent advertised for 6" diameter duct that is 28.25 square inches. The vent's outlet 2.5" x 6" for 15 square inches. The 6" duct's capacity will be restricted down to the vents outlet. The vent outlet advertised for 6" duct should have at least 28.25 square inches of opening. The description is also highly misleading since this vent does not include an internal damper for wind. In essence, this vent is worthless for both 6" duct and in an installation that requires a damper in the vent.

I was disappointed. There was no internal damper even though the product description said there was.

Does the job.

the main problem is that a 6 inch vent really only has 18 square inches of inlet as the air inlet is rectangular. using a vent duct that is 6 inches restricts the airflow by about 45%. This places a back pressure on the system. for a 6 inch duct your need a 10 inch goose neck vent roof cap

Picture and description did not specify if it fit a round or square duct. I needed it to fit a round duct, Had to return it. I like to order form Home Depot because it is convenient to do returns, no mailing back.

Gave me the extra height I needed being in a snow prone area.

Great style look unique & modern.

Worked perfect for the application. Previous Vent was too close to the roof surface, which allowed water to 'blow in' when conditions were right. The taller unit will be standard for us in the future.

The ad's description and photo are accurate. The flashing is 11" wide by 11-5/8" long (along slope of roof). The joints are spot welded. The joints most vulnerable to leaking are sealed. The height of the vent above the flashing is 6-1/4". The width of the goose neck is also 6-1/4". The square opening at the bottom is approximately 6-1/4" wide by 6-1/2" along the roof slope. The opening at the discharge end of the vent is approximately 6-1/4" wide by 2-1/2". The rodent / insect screen is expanded metal (steel). It has hexagonal openings of approximately 1/4" x 3/8". This will surely stop all rodents; some small insects are questionable. A tighter screen could be added if needed. The vent has no damper, so if needed, it should be added, probably in the ducting. Overall quality seems good at today's standards. It should keep the water out when the hurricane's near horizontal rain arrives. I plan to use it as a roof vent for a cook top. There is no country of origin marked on the product.

the product is well made. My only problem is that for a fan vent for a bathroom fan, you need to have a damper in the hood this one does not have that feathure. I installed my own damper within the neck before installing on my roof. For a roof vent it is good but not for a fan vent.
