Yes. We brought this unit two years ago and installed it to vent our bathroom fan. It works great. We are very happy. Set ours up with a timer we can set from 10 minutes to 60 minutes.
No,the device has a flap on it to allow air to flow out.
Yes pretty heavy metal and well made. The damper needed a little adjustment but other than that it was worth the price. Much better than some I have seen.
You could use a 6" hole saw, if the fit is too tight, use the hole saw to wallow it out a little. Another method is to use a jig saw. This will give you the best fit.
This will work to exhaust 6" ducts,The GNV6BL does not have a CFM rating. If you have any other inquiries about our Master Flow products please call Technical Services at 800-211-9612.
Yes, some supply lines are 4 inches but some are 6 inches. I have two that are 4 inches and one that is 6 inches. You can use a 4x6 duct reducer to complete the connection.
See MasterFlow answer below. This should work fine. Assuming your range hood has a 6" outlet, the manual should specify maximum length of 6" exhaust rigid duct. 90 degree elbows count as 5ft of duct. Usually duct termination caps are considered zero ft of duct in the calculation. I put 3 of these roof caps on my new home. One on a 500-cfm hood, another on a 450-cfm hood, and the third one exhausts a variable speed 300-1000 cfm mult-port bath fan,
Yes:: properly secured the vent will work just fine.... Would probably recommend then ridged pipe also
Can I use a fan of 80 CFM blower?
Mine is installed on a 12/12 pitched roof. I don't think it would be a good idea on a flat roof due to it's construction and it's seams. I would guess it could be very prone to leak with any standing water.
