Excellent product, cooks cooks evenly and holds heat well. Initial setup was easy and we'll defined. I suggest a cast iron pan as the chip tray heats them too quick. Smoke leaks from the seals but doesn't effect flavor or cooking speed.nover all great product and very durable.

The build quality is way above par with great fitment and design. . This unit even has brass receivers for all of the bolts! I cooked 2 racks of ribs, one very large brisket(cut in half) and a large roasting hen the first time I used it (after the burn in). I used hickory pellets (not)chips for the smoke and 6 hours later(cooked at 225 degrees) I had some of the best smoked meats I have ever tasted! The outside ambient temperature was 28 degrees the day of the first use but the cooking power was not affected. Temp control was great and reached 425 degrees during the 1 hour burn in on the highest setting. I added an old 12" cast iron skillet on top of the burn pan for additional thermal properties and used beer in the water pan. . . Masterbuilt hit it out of the park with this guy! I am NOT eligible for the sweepstakes but I just had to share this with my fellow"smokeheads" out there to encourage more folks to try this neat little smoker! I have a huge professional pit that I use to cook large qty's of meat for friends and family BUT this guy fits the bill for everyday smoking for regular folks and produces great results!

Really good smoker with controls for smoke. Food flavor excellant with charcoal and use gas to finish cooking. This smoker replaces one that got damaged in Hurricane Irma. It has much better fitting foir and smoke/ heat control. Love smoking very slowly with charcoal for that wondetfull flavor and finish cooking with propane.

Wifey bought this for me last Black Friday as an early Christmas gift. I haven't used and don't plan to use the propane but I use the charcoal pan extensively. I started out a newbie but I've used it over a dozen times and learned a bit more each time. Let me start with this is a fantastic smoker and for the $99 she spent, it has definitely been worth it. It isn't the best built smoker around, but again for $99 you won't beat it. I have smoked beef, chicken, pork ribs, sausages, etc and even use it as a jerky maker with an electric hot plate instead of the charcoal pan. Here's some things you'll want to be aware of though. 1) The built-in thermostat is utter junk. Do. Not. Trust. It. PERIOD. Invest in a meat thermometer. We bought a wireless model and can check the temp from the living room. 2) The doors don't have a seal so you'll get some smoke (and lost heat) at the doors. Invest in some food safe rtv or a fabric strip sealer. You'll use less fuel and maintain your heat more easily. 3) DO NOT TRUST THE BUILT IN THERMOSTAT! I state this twice and in caps because if you do you'll seriously over temp the smoker and ruin it. There is a review from someone who I think trusted the thermostat and well, if you read his review you'll see the results. 4) Your first few smokings will be missing that taste bud busting smoke-house flavor. It just needs to be seasoned with that nice coating of flavorful fat. Stick with it, keep smoking, and soon enough this baby will be seasoned and you'll be churning out some tasty viddles.

easy assembly....took about 30 min. Very nice for the price in my opinion. Have already smoked a number of items using gas and charcoal. The charcoal needs alot of monitoring for anything more than an hour, but the gas is easy and it was not hard to maintain the 200-225 degree temp.

First time smoker but the MP dual fuel made it painless. I've been able to smoke low and slow or medium temp and faster. One the first day I smoked marinated shrimp and bacon wrapped scallops.... delicious! The next day, a venison roast... delicious! The next day a whole chicken with asparagus added toward the end... you guessed it, delicious! Next, venison jerky and again wonderful. I was surprised that once my Thermopro external thermometer arrived it showed the temp gauge on the smoker was close to being accurate. The beauty of this unit is I can turn off the gas and maintain with charcoal. I am still on the first tank of gas after a solid week of smoking. The wheels are an added bonus to make moving it easy.

My first smoker. I was pretty intent on a getting a pellet smoker but this went on flash sale for $98 a several weeks ago and I couldn't resist. I've now smoked beef, pork ribs, salmon, whole chickens, asparagus, various pork loins, and shrimp in it with various types of wood. They have all come out great and it's easy to keep the smoker around 220 with propane even in the heat of the day last Sunday. I bought a 10" cast iron skillet that I put on top of the burner bowl. I can put more wood chips in at a time with no risk of catching the wood on fire like the included bowl might and it's much easier to take out and refill with wood chips during the smoking (which I do about once an hour). You can put a lot of meat in at once with the four racks.

OMG! This smoker is AWESOME! We have only had it a few weeks but every weekend we have smoked something! The different layers are great for smoking different veggies. We also bought a variety of wood chips to smoke with. We have tried the cherry and apple wood chips and MMMMM, flavoring is just delicious! I recommend to everyone! I can even use it! I do need a good meat thermometer, that is our next purchase.

I got this for a good price ($129). Given that, I think it's a good deal, not full price however. Follow online directions for sealing the door with lavalock or other high temp felt insulation, and interior with high temp silicone. It assembles quick and easy. I ran into quality issues with the fire bowl. I primarily use hardwood charcoal and right out of the box I had issues with it. I will attach the pictures. I suspect it's a QA issue, not that of the product. The enamel was chipped off the bowl and they used a black Sharpie to hide the mistake. It probably got smashed or something to cause the cracking and missing pieces. I was really disappointed upon seeing it. However, I plan on replacing the bowl with a cast iron pan once this one fails so ultimately not a deal breaker. I'll update if anything changes after getting it broken in.

It took about 30 minutes to assemble. I’ve used it twice so far and have been very pleased with it. Looking online there are some modifications such as replacing the wood tray with a cast iron pot, and some other slight hacks which I’ll probably try, but so far the family and I have loved the salmon and chicken I smoked just the way it comes.

Great smoker at a great value. I used a big barrel smoker with separate fire box on the side to smoke with for years. You had to babysit it to keep it fed and the temps just right. This Masterbuilt Pro is so simple. Fire the burner, add your wood and meat, then relax while it does the work. I left it going with my wife home and took off to the gunshow the first day I had it with 2 pork shoulders in it. When I came back 5 hours later the smokers temps were right where I left tem. I put a cake pan that fits right over the burner for the wood to sit in and smoke from instead of putting it in the metal round pan that the burner sits in as instructed. It makes adding wood easier, won't fill the burner with ash and just makes more sense. The built in water pan with slide out rack it sits in makes adding water easy. Buy yourself a thick set of leather welding gloves for grabbing the racks. You'll be happy you did. Other than the wood pan, the only thing I'm going to change and I wish they did upon designing the smoker is to add an adjustable propane regulator. It can be difficult to get the smokers temps down low enough for a long 12-14 hour cook . But you can get the temps low if you play with the vents enough. Those are the only thing preventing a 5 star rating. So far (2) 12 pound Boston butt's at the same time, 2 batches of chicken and a brisket have gone through this thing in barely a months time. Buy it if you like smoking meat. You won't be sorry!! If you use a barrel smoker now you'll never look back. If your new to smoking meat and want to show your new skills, or fill up on your favorite cut smoked just as good as that BBQ joint you used to go to, you'll love this machine. It's nearly impossible to screw up. If you have been smoking meat for years like myself, you'll appreciate the nap while the Masterbuilt Pro makes it look like you have been hard at it all day. Enjoy!

just in time for Christmas. It worked out really well. it took a bit of getting used to for me as I have never used a propane smoker before, but I found the temperature easy to control. I was able to hook up a leg of lamb mac and cheese and turkey in about 7 hours total. I am very happy with this purchase.

Had this brand before, I gave my used one to a friend and it s still working for several years, great product, makes the best smoke meats, every body around me that has tried my smoke meat,, has gave me 5 thumbs up, I don't know if they were plain hungry, or really enjoyed the eat. I love it and brought m second one. My trade secret is soak the meats in apple cider or a day or two, and make a rub, dont be shy with the seasoning, and be sure to invite good friends over to enjoy

After reviewing several types of smokers available, I decided to give this one a try because it is not ridiculously expensive like some others. After using it for Thanksgiving turkeys I am extremely happy with my purchase. I look forward to smoking many things in this beautiful smoker. It's not the fanciest, it doesn't have the latest bells and whistles, but it gets the job done, and done well.

This is our first experience with a smoker of any kind, which is why we are giving this a rating of Good (since there are no other smokers we can compare it to) We have had success with smoking via propane. (have not tried the charcoal method yet). We have done a whole chicken, a pork butt and ribs. All came out wonderful with a nice crust on the exterior. Being new-bees, we are still experimenting with timing and flavor, but youtube has been a huge help!
