I was nervous moving from my pellet smoker to the Masterbuilt because I’ve had so much success with pellets but I’m blown away with what I’m doing now. Burn time on a bag of coal is nowhere close to a bag of pellets, but you can’t beat the charcoal taste. It does take more to get the Masterbuilt going then a pellet grill… but not much more. It’s a solid smoker.

We love our grill but this cover has been the worst quality. Not even a year and it looks like a cover that been outside in the elements for 10+ years. It sits on a covered patio next to our black stone, which ironically the cover on that looks new still and we’ve had it for 3 years. Contacted masterbuilt and got the BS our accessories aren’t covered under the warranty… maybe should rethink the “masterbuilt warranties ALL its products….” That’s on the website.

Didn’t last a single season. Love the grill and smoker but the cover was 1 star.

Rusts badly. Has always been covered and under cover. Grates rusted out. Timer temp digital doesn't work. Runs numbers up and down randomly. Owned it for 2 years and have to replace it already.

We purchased this for our 1050 and it fits very well. It is heavy duty and has securing bungies. We have had ours on the patio since we have purchased it, about two months. The cover is starting to fade. Only time will tell how long it will last. For the money it should last the life of the cooker.

I owned a Masterbuilt Deep Fryer so when I started comparing Smokers, I considered Masterbuilt. Based on the superior craftsmanship of the deep fryer, I hoped that the 800 Gravity Smoker would be somewhat comparable in terms of craftsmanship and ENGINEERING. I was not disappointed, and in fact, I was amazed at the engineering and manufacturing detail this smoker had. I eliminated the Treager as it is manufactured in China and did not have the gravity feed technology. I also found the Treager to be someone light weight compared to the M/B. I wanted to assemble the unit myself, so I ordered a home delivery. This way, if something went wrong with the unit, I would be very familiar with the construction. I fully expected to get a few sheet metal cuts during the process as most manufactures think that leaving razor sharp edges on sheet metal was a good idea! I can honestly say that I did not encounter a single sharp edge and completed the process without using a single Band-Aid! A miracle for me. The parts all fit perfectly. On my maiden voyage with the M/B 800, I produced an excellent brisket. Cleanup was easy as was the overall operation of the unit. I controlled the entire smoke via my smartphone. The Masterbuilt 800 Gravity Feed Smoker is not only culinary marvel, it is an engineering and manufacturing miricle.

Great cover that protects the grill. The cover seems fairly durable and should last quite a while.

The cover is of good quality, thick and durable and will last for many years. It works great at keeping the smoker clean and free from the weather. Even though my smoker is under cover, the cover works amazing to keep out unwanted dirt and dust and definitely makes the smoker more presentable when not in use. I highly recommend getting the cover to prolong the life of your smoker.
