Q:Has anyone compared this to Royal oak lump charcoal? I?ve always used Royal oak lump charcoal and love it but it never goes on sale.

MB Lump has been the most consistent
Have had my 1050 for a few months. MB Lump has been the most consistent over 6 different competitors. I use my 1050 at least 3 times a week.

Good consistent size for the gravity series
I received 2 bags and used one in my Gravity 1050 and so far 1 firebox full from the second bag in my Kamado Joe grill.
A full bag fits perfectly to fill up the gravity series hopper.
I did low and slow pulled pork in the gravity and roasted a chicken at 400° on the Kamado.
The lump lights fast and burns great.
The lump sizes are consistent. Not too big and not too small. They are perfect for the gravity series grills.

Masterbuilt lump charcoal
Purchased two bags, have used one full bag, and I really can’t tell a difference between using it and using charcoal. I always use Kingsford. Kingsford charcoal is actually a little bit cheaper.
I was hoping I would get natural smoke from the lump charcoal, but that did not happen.

Lumps are good!
The lump charcoal burns good and it’s easy to light. Gives great flavor.
